An Opulent Prison...As she awoke she gradually became aware of her surroundings. It was a large room, lit by candle light. She was led on a large square bed, not uncomfortable, quite soft in fact. Her hair was loose and she was clothed in a long cotton dress. It was then she realised her hands which were folded above her head were bound, in manacles of gold with short but robust chains attached to the head board. They allowed her enough movement to sit up and put her arms almost at her sides when lay down but there was no way of leaving the bed...
She was in a prison, an opulent one but, a prison nonetheless.
The door to her right opened, showing the silouhette of a tall, leanly muscular man stood in the opening. He took a few steps into the room and the scant candle light briefly illuminated his face. "Loki-!" she breathed...the fear evident in her voice. She saw he held his trademark horned helm in his long-fingered hands. He merely smiled ruefully. As he moved closer, glided even, his clothes seemed to

She didn't respond, and he couldn't feel a pulse. No, no This couldn't be happening. He didn't mean to kill her; that was the last thing he ever wanted to happen to her! Loki dropped to his knees and cried out in agony as he clutched her to his chest.
Tony and Steve looked at each other, unsure of what to think of this situation. Was it a trick? Should they grab him now or leave him be for a moment?
Loki ignored them as he clung to the girl. He never even learned her name, and now he never would His poor little German girl! What had he done? The color faded from her cheeks and his heart sank. Don't Fear the Reaper: Ch. 1 (LokiXReader)Charcoal clouds filled every corner of the sky summoning rain upon the area. I stood in the patio of my apartment admiring the symphony of the droplets hitting the ground, and the cool air driving from it. Such a beautiful night. I admired the sight until a knock on the door interrupted my time in nirvana. Who could it possibly at this time of the night? “Who’s there?” I asked behind the door.
“Excuse us. We happened to be from S.H.I.E.L.D. If you don’t mind, we would like to have a word with you,” a stern voice replied.
I peeked through the hole of the door to stop a large man in a black trenchcoat and an eye patch, and a smaller man wearing a suit. They looked strange. What would they want from me? I slowly opened the door seeing them face-to-face giving them a cautious stare.

You hated Loki being gone. Genuinely wanted to kick Loki being gone in the balls. It was three days since he had left, where was he? You tried to distract yourself with work and rehearsals with GG, but it didn't work out so well for you. You were more frustrated with yourself than anything else. You barely knew Loki, yet you missed him more than you missed your mother on the very first day of school. It was brutal. You knew that part of it was because you had recently slept with him, but there was more to it as well. You missed having him around. You missed just sitting and talking with him. You even missed him calling you 'dear.' Amazing how so much can change in such a short time, isn't it?
But on that third night, you heard three slow knocks at your door. You jumped up from your couch, eager to see him. But when you opened th

Tony was actually sick. He had been in bed all day, at least two blankets draped over him at any time for when he got cold chills. Around him, Asgardians laughed and chuckled at the prince's drunken antics. You managed a weak laugh along with them, finding yourself hardly entertained by the story.
Around you, couples talked and laughed, danced and drank. Typical for a party such as this. Untypical, however, was Thor's suggestion that all party-goers dress in costume, leading the usual array of golds and rusty hues to range from bright blues and greens, to vivid reds and oranges and subtle purples and pinks.
You faded away from the crowd around the prince and carefully picked your way through the crowd, careful not to step on the delicate fabric of your dress your mother had set out for you.
Your mother, being who she was, was not one to spend subtly. Having access to a large quantity of money due to your father's ranking, had chosen the most complex dress she could find

The couple arrived at the gala twenty minutes after eight. It was a midsummer night. Delicately warm. The air had been thickened with the mingled scent of women’s perfume and the deeper musk of the exhaust spewed by the cabs idling up and down the King Street. It would have been unusual, therefore, for any particular person in the mixed throng of gala attendees and tourists to be singled out. It really was a nice place. Ten feet below you hid a river behind thick berry bushes. The only place where the clear water was visible was at a makeshift bridge of stepping stones to the other side, connecting one bank to the other. There was just enough cleared sand for one to lay out a picnic blanket for a forest picnic, though it was usually always too chilly under the thick canopy of leaves high above. Upslope from the boulder on which you perched was a thick, forked oak tree; and before that, a perfect stone to function as a stepstool. It was as though someone had designed this place, and had carefully controlled every natural element to craft such a perfect hideaway.

Loki languidly looked out of the window at the falling snow. He had loved to build snowmen and play around in the cold as a child but now it only reminded him of what he wished he could forget. Looking down at his hands doubtingly he wondered whether he would transform under the touch of this weather. He had searched the whole library (as soon as he had been allowed to leave his...room, as they called it, but Loki saw it as what it was: a prison.) for an explanation of the magic that had given him an Asgardian appearance since he had been a baby, but hadn't found anything. Asking Odin about would have been the next, logical step, but he was too proud for that. Talking about his true nature with him once had been more than enough. Loki snorted in contempt.
If it had been for him, we never would have talked about it. He would have been just fine lying to me for the rest of his sorry life.

Except in tattered rags instead of armour, and pale and sickly like I had looked after first getting to Earth. A prisoner. A monster. I would still hate Odin, and Laufey. I would still be betrayed and abhorred by both. And I would still hate myself.

Who Am IIt was the sound of sobbing that brought Thor Odinson to a halt outside his brother's chambers. If he had been in any greater hurry, he would have perhaps mistaken the noise to be nothing more than a gentle breeze whispering through the curtains, or the gentle flow of water being poured into a goblet.
