Maybe I don't deserve all the views and the comments.
Maybe there are better writers out there that deserve acknowledgment.
Maybe I am not worthy of any recognition and attention.
Personally I don't think my work is even worth mentioning.
Maybe my words wont amount to anything substantial.
Maybe I wont make it in terms of a financial,
Atonement but can we just think for one moment
That maybe I write to express my thoughts on a page.
To release all the feelings held hostage in this mortal cage.
Maybe others can relate and reciprocate my words.
And to you this notion may seem insulting and absurd.
But all these favourites and feed back gives me an added purpose.
And for that split second when reading them, I feel like I actually deserve this.
That my whole hearted words are not dispensable and worthless.
That maybe I can actually make something of myself.
Give the people something real to purchase from life's obscure shelf.
Give my parents the life that they so justly
Tangled - Gothel's Story Gothel walked down the bustling market streets, gazing in awe at the spectacle around her. Bright banners hung from the buildings, people were dressed in fine clothing, and the entire place had a strange and exciting air. This was the first time she had ever come to the city on her own. After having spent sixteen years stuck on her family's farm she was ecstatic when her parents decided it was time for her to go out and see the main town. True, she had been frightened out of her wits at first, but now she was so glad she had come. The sights, the smells, the sounds, she couldn't get enough! She looked around at the dozens of vendors, practically drooling over the hundreds of pastries for sale. Of course she only had so much money, so she walked on past. She looked up at the perfectly clear sky, smiling to herself, right before she ran into someone. She stumbled back a little before tripping on a cobblestone, landing hard on her back and banging her head.Tangled - Gothel's Story4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

WaterslideToday was the day. Miles and Salren had been planning a vacation day for themselves, Tia, and Steven for weeks now, and the day had finally arrived. There were many natural waterslides in the rivers of the island where Steven and Salren lived. These slides were made from spring water bubbling up in the center of the island, creating countless streams and brooks that carved their way though slippery rocks and forming deep pools along the way, ideal for cooling off and having fun on a hot day like today. The location of today's venture had been carefully selected by Salren who had surveyed many of the streams and rivers looking for a suitable place. Miles and Steven were already in their swim suits. Tia, who didn't need such things, was making other preparations. Doing what she does best, she prepared lunch for the trip. Salren, however, was looking for an opportune moment to speak to Miles alone, forWaterslide3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

"Thank you, Marisa. Please hold my calls for the next hour." She blinks, but nods in the affirmative before heading back to her desk, closing the door behind her.
"Hello, Miss Sandiego," I say to the girl in front of me. She offers me a superficial smile, wan and wary.
"Hello, Chief." Undeterred, I try to continue the conversation.
"So, you won a huge prize on a game show a couple of years ago, right? It's A Wise Child, if I remember correctly." She nods, a perfunctory motion; she's either extremely nervous, or bored out of her mind. I have a sneaking suspicion it's the latter, but I'm stumped. I cough a bit and motion to the simple, brass candy dish on my desk. She offers another smile, small and condesce
Good Doctor LocklearThere was nothing but groggy swirls of illusionistic euphoria. The drugs they had administered to him were too powerful for anything else. His senses were obstructed, and he was alone with the cackling voices inside his head. They grew louder and louder until he could no longer bear it. He tried desperately to claw at his face, to do anything to hush the dull roar. But it was in vain, as his arms were strapped securely to his chest by the straight jacket that subdued him.Good Doctor Locklear2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

Those damn fools. Who the hell did they think they were? Locking him up. HIM. A man of science. A bringer of societal advances, and hero to mankind. They would regret this. All of them. If they would not have him as their savior, they would have him as their end maker.

It was a nice summer's day, not to hot, and there was the right type of breeze to keep cool. In a meadow lay two figures, these two figures were very close though it is uncommon to see these two types of creatures together. The first figure was a large black dragon with silver curved horns, spikes and belly to match.
Her name was Sapphire and she was the caretaker of the next figure, a boy the age of 12 with dark brown eyes and brown messy hair to match. His name was Mike, Sapphire and him were closer than anyone could possibly imagine. "Sapphire, isn't it nice out today?" I said. "Yes it is very nice," she replied, "the sun feels nice on my scales," she said and then shifted position to let the sun warm her other side. "I'm going to go get a drink," I said. "Ok but don't go far ok?" "Alright!" I said and ran off to the river. It wasn't far, only a mile away. When I got there, I took a sip of water

In a cold dark room.
Worry no longer, it will all end soon.
You see nothing but darkness,
And hear nothing but screams.
I promise things are much worse than they seem.
I enter the room.
To see you tied to a table.
You try to scream but you're not able.
I raise up my blade,
And you begin to prey.
But over your words you can hear me say.
Heaven doesn't exist.
That you'll find out soon.
After death you'll do nothing but rot in your watery tomb.
Through anger and tears.
You say I'll face a jury in hell.
But the place doesn't exist outside of this cell.
Once you're dead,
And chopped into pieces.
The darkness inside me finally ceases.

I woke up in a cave. It was freezing cold and the stone floor chilled my skin, the only thing keeping me warm was my red jacket. The chilling air blew into the cave which gave me goosebumps on my skin, I scouted the cave and there I saw a large figure, I did not move an inch, at first all I could see was a blurred blue, the figure stood at least 28 feet tall.
The figure had to be something with blue scales then I let my eyes slowly gain focus and then looked. I wiped my eyes and I could make out a glimmering light, I could see a fire,
the figure raised up its head, my vision blurred again then what I could make out of my surroundings was now shaded a shining blue. I looked down to its feet, but I only saw a blue limb. I was not sure if this creature was trying to pin me down or when it was sleeping it just rested the limb on me, the limb on top of me was a dragon's arm holding me down, but it was not uncomfortable for me.

In a cave, deep in a large forest covered in winter's snow, lay a large, majestic, black female dragon with silver curved horns, spikes and a silver belly laid there in her cave, sleeping the night away, when all of a sudden, "Hello?" called a voice from the entrance of the cave. "Is anyone in here?" it called again.
Wanting to know who or what was calling, she made her way closer to the sound, she stopped when she saw what it was. It was a small, male human hatchling about 5 feet tall and seemed about the age of 8 to 10 years old. He had dark brown eyes and short messy brown hair to match. He must have heard her because he called out again, "Is anyone there?" "Yes, I live here," she answered.
He must have been surprised to get an answer because he stepped back a few feet. "I'm sorry if I barged in on your home, I will leave," he said then started to make his way to the entrance.

The fall season had finally settled down, but a constant warm breeze kept playing with the womans hair as she walked down the silent path filled with dead but colourful leaves. On each side of her, rows of tombstones were stoically reflecting the last sunrays of the day.
Step by step, the woman went further in the territory of the dead until she reached the end of the path. However, the purpose of her visit was still feet away. She had to cross more rows of tombstones which were beginning to be less organized, the stones being scattered around, breaking the symmetry of the previous ones.
The woman continued to walk on the cold grass, her feet barely making any sound, excepting the seldom crisping of the dead leaves. She walked forward until she reached a solitary tombstone. It was small, barely as glorious as the rest of the symbolic stones of the deceased, but it was clean and still polished, revealing its recentness. It also had a beautiful golden coloration be

"I don't know. Can you hear her coming?" responded Miles as they lay underneath the blanket of leaves, knowing full well that any motion on their part could reveal them to the dragon. The sounds of the dragon's approach are soon heard by both of them. Her voice followed.
"I know you're around here... just come out and play, it will be easier for both of you."
Tia's head rose slightly. "She only wants to play, silly. We should go talk to her."
"Tia, no!" Miles hissed, pulling her back down causing the leaves around them rustle. "When she says 'play,' she means 'eat!'"
"Oh...I get it." Tia says before whispering a quiet, "sorry," to her pal before falling silent in the leaves again.
Unbeknownst to them, their hunter had heard their conversation and turned her gaze to a hastily compiled grouping of leaves. The dragon seemed to peer straight through the leaves and
