ME3 endings versus angry fansWarning! The text below includes heavy spoilers, so people who didn't finish ME3 yet should avoid it.ME3 endings versus angry fans2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The battle between Bioware and it's fans rages on. This year we already had three occasions to write angry notes to Bioware. The failed 4th book - that was more of a fanfic than a book. The Day-1 DLC "From ashes" fiasco, and now the boycott of ME3 endings. Endings that were renounced by the fans as uncanonical.
The fans are mobilizing to get additional (more happy) ME3 ending. And if they were able to force Bioware to make a re-write of the failed book, maybe they will be able to achieve this too.
Here you can vote in the polls on Bioware Social:
Here you can sign a petition for additional endings:

"You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes." Doesn't this sound oddly familiar?
By picking the blue or green options in Mass Effect 3, you basically agreed to give up, stop fighting and just die. Picking the red beam means your still fighting, struggling against the Reapers, not going to just lay there and die like they want you to. Live to fight another day..
The Leviathan and the Death of HopeWarning: contains spoilers concerning the Leviathan DLC, Mass Effect 3 and my notions about what good writing is. Duh.The Leviathan and the Death of Hope2 years ago in Personal More Like This
There are moments when I wish I could just turn off my writer's sense at a whim and "just go with it". Ignore that a story in a game, or a movie, or a book, or a TV show is flawed in my opinion, just to enjoy the views, get an adrenaline rush from all the flashing colors and have fun. And truth be told - it usually works that way... Just not for the universes I tend to care about. If you got me invested in your franchise, I will expect you to deliver the goods. 'Tis how the cookie crumbles.
Which brings me to the Leviathan DLC. I've seen a lot of positive reviews and emotions towards it popping up all over the internet before I was even able to check it out myself. My hopes were high, and, initially, I loved it. It had a sense of exploration Mass Effect 3 was seriously lacking and the TGES Mining Base really reminded me of Noveria... It was spot on.

Working Without a Pattern
Hi everyone! I'm TheSmall-Stuff and what I love is to make amigurumi, but I'm never patient enough to use a pattern. Because of this, I've found and developed a bunch of techniques that I use while designing the dolls that I make! What I'm going to try to do is explain my thought process in making a doll, and share some of the techniques that I use to form the shapes and the details in a character. Sorry it's long, but I tried to use lots of pictures. I hope this helps! Lets start
Shapes are key!
When you go to make a doll, you need to pick it apart in your head and see all of the shapes that make the character. Sometimes it's easier to draw out a diagram of all of the pieces that go into the doll, to get a good idea of how it fits together. While you're planning, it's good to be thinking "How do I make this?" while you choose shapes. However
Introduction to Cross StitchingCross StitchingIntroduction to Cross Stitching6 months ago in Art Features More Like This
Cross stitch is one of a number of embroidery stitches, but usually the one most people are familiar with. Whether it was in a school art class or just randomly picking up a cross stitch kit as a kid, a lot of us have tried it at some point. Lets delve into this popular stitch a little bit.
What is a cross stitch?
As the name suggests, is is simply a cross, or an 'X' stitched with thread onto canvas. Typically, it's used to make a picture or a pattern. The stitch will form a complete square, and in this regard it is quite similar to pixel art. Through the placement of individual stitches adjacent to one another, an overall image will eventually appear.
It's an incredibly simple stitch, but can take some time to master. Like many crafts, it can be difficult to notice the

The button materials here are those necessary to make 1.25 inch buttons. Luckily, the process used to make pinback buttons does not change across sizes. This means you can use this process for creating 1 inch buttons as well as the 3 inch buttons!
There are various kinds of button presses and button cutters. Those used here are from http://www.buttonbiz.com/.
The button design used in this tutorial is my own creation. Please do not use it without permission.
Now, let's make some buttons!
1. Use button cutter to cut button designs. See example below:

Welcome to projecteducate 's topic: The Free Digital Arts Toolbox!
Not all artists can or want to pay for expensive programs like Photoshop or PaintTool SAI, expensive hardware like Wacom Tablets, or premium stock for poses, brushes, patterns, backgrounds, etc. How is an artist wanting to work in digital media supposed to operate while keeping their finances under control? THAT is exactly what we will be discussing - and until 2014 when my own family bought me tools and programs I had wanted for a long time, I worked my digital media magic using mostly free programs, methods and resources.
Photoshop and PaintTool SAI are amazing - no doubt. But they are not the only programs available that can edit pho

This will be an intro and some tips to using both oven bake and air dry clay. I'll be showing you how I do things, but every artist is different, and I encourage you to take whatever you'd like to learn from my process and figure out which ways work best for you!
Oven Bake Clay
Oven bake or polymer clay comes in many brands, colors, and types. A major difference among brands is the clay's consistency and strength. For example, Sculpey brand alone has multiple clay lines from original to eraser to bendy. A popular Sculpey brand among DA artists is "Super Sculpey," a more ceramic like polymer clay with a consistency that lends itself to detail oriented pieces. Finding the right clay for you is a bit of trial and error and simply finding which brand you prefer to work with.

Mandelbulb 3D Tutorial 4: Basic TipsMandelbulb 3D Tutorial 4: Basic TipsMandelbulb 3D Tutorial 4: Basic Tips1 month ago in Personal More Like This
First thing we'll cover are some tweaking tips. Tweaking, not to be confused with Twerking. Almost everyone does it. It's one of the best ways to learn. This section of the tutorial will cover some of the basics that will hopefully help new MB3D users with tweaking. Just don't let words like iterations, raystep multiplier and stepthwidth limiter scare you off. You don't need to know the math behind these things. Just consider those words as lables to show you where a setting is and you'll do fine. That's what the GUI is for, to make using the program fairly simple. I'm going to use a sample parameter of mine from about 2 1\2 years ago which is a tweak in a long line of tweaks. You will find that I am guilty of a few things that I'm going to cover, so it's a good example.
As always, I like to mention that I am not a tech giant. I really don't know a lot of the technical aspects of Mandelbulb 3D. If you are interested in the technical

What got you into crochet?
I grew up watching my mom and grandma crochet things from doilies to blankets and always wanted to learn, so I eventually did when I was 10 or 11 from my grandma. My mom tried teaching me a little, but it didn't work too well. XD
How long have you been crocheting?
I've been crocheting since I was around 10, shall we say? I didn't get around to crocheting most of my days away till the last year or so. Before that, I only crocheted when I felt like i

Materials you need, techniques to hold and use the crochet hook and main stitches you must know, all in one article for you to start crocheting right now!
Why crochet is that easy?
Unlike knitting, crochet uses just one tool (a single hook) rather than two (a pair of needles) and you work one yarn loop at a time; these two factors are enough to make it less complicated.
Do you want another reason to choose crochet?
Well, another advantage is that it’s easier to drop your project and pick it up again without losing your work; The stitches won’t slide off just like with the needles, therefore there’s no chance of a line of stitches unraveling before your eyes!
Crochet projects develop more quickly (this is ideal for beginners and impatient people)
What do you need to start?
You won't need many materials to get started. The basics you'll need consist of a croch

Adoptables, Basics for Adoptables ArtistsTwo Steps to StartAdoptables, Basics for Adoptables Artists2 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Create a new account
This is not necessary, per se, but if you have in mind to do more than just one or two sheets of adoptables, it might be a good idea to start a new account. This way you won't spam your watchers' inbox, if they're not interested in adoptables, and you can organize your gallery in a better way.
Be a member of Adoptables Groups
dA is a big community and the sheer amount of new deviations every day makes it hard for your art to be seen. Considering that you just made a new account for your adoptables, you have basically no watchers whatsoever so how can you get the exposure you need to sell your characters? The answer is join Adoptables Groups. By doing this you can do two things, the first is submit your adoptables to their gallery and advertise them, the second is observing the trends, what people like to draw and buy more.
Some basic theory about my ship designs.First of all, my designs are based on three important points:Some basic theory about my ship designs.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
1 FTL is possible, however there are some severe constraints, which I will come back to.
2. Artificial gravity (AG) is also possible, but it too has constraints, that roughly follow the laws of physics.
3 Inertial damping, or rather camouflaging mass is also possible, and it is neccesary for both FTL and AG.
My ships are all powered by anti matter reactors, all moving parts from doors, to engines, to guns are all operated by linear electromagnetic engines/magnetic levitation.
there are no hydraulics anywhere.
Now, my ships all have something called a central gravity deck. this is essentially a deck in the center of the ship that pull everything inward, so that you walk on either side of it.
My reason for this is 1: gravity works inward like a sphere, if one side is an attractive plane it is only natural that the other side is too. The reason for choosing a plate rather than a sphere is because of the size requirements to get

"You'll get bored of it, and then you'll hate it. That's what happens."
I simply turned and smiled. "Heh, you obviously don't know me very well, do you?"
Even when I was small, people used to tell me that I'd end up working for SEGA. I was crazy about the blue hedgehog from age six, and it's safe to say I haven't stopped since. I just smiled, though. It just seemed to be one of those things people said. I always knew that I wanted to, but I lacked the confidence for a long time, and as a result simply thought I lacked the appropriate skills. I've been in the online community for all of my teenage years, developing all aspects of my artwork mainly for the basis of showing my love for the franchise and the ethos of the series to others. The day I was hired, I knew things were starting to look up for me. I'd always made a promise to myself that I would do my best to make an impact however I could.
It wasn't before lon
