Ak-47 ( Weapon series) neon box , 150 x 60.5 x 20 cm
During the Cold War, the Soviet Union, China, and the United States provides equipment and technology to countries with their allies, along with the rebel forces they support. At that time the spread of large-scale AK-47 by the Soviet Union and China to countries and groups with pro-communists, such as the Nicaraguan Sandinistas and Viet Cong. AK-47 design spread to 55 armed forces of the world.
The spread of the AK-47 is not only seen from the numbers alone, the AK-47 is in the flag and coat of arms of Mozambique. Also found on the coat of arms of Burkina Faso, and the flag of Hezbollah. "Kalash", short for "Kalashnikov", is used as the name for boys in some African countries.
On September 9, 1976, Mao Zedong died. Mao's image during the Cultural Revolution portrayed him as a larger-than-life figure who represented China's revolutionary progress. Mao's death symbolized the loss of the socialist foundation of China.
So the family that commissioned the LEGO Yoda came back and wanted their favorite Vermeer painting, "Girl With a Pearl Earring" done up in LEGO mosaic as well. They LOVED the mock-up design, but are balking a little bit on the price. It is taking a little bit of explaining that this much black is harder to come by and ends up being fairly costly to get. We'll see if they come back and let me build this one.
