Leaving the Navy + New Singing VideoWell guys, I've made my decision... I'm leaving the military!Leaving the Navy + New Singing Video2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Yeah, I know I was supposed to go to the electric brigade, but the budget cuts were too steep and the 1st class billets are completely closed shut...
No body is getting promoted...
I have no idea how long that will last but I'm not about to reenlist to find out!
Anyway, if all goes according to plan, I'll be leaving Japan (and the Navy) in early October of this year and will be looking for jobs again...
Oh who am I kidding? I'm gonna try out for American Idol, The Voice, The X Factor, and America's got Talent! (Hey, you never know until you try right? )
Anyway, I decided to upload a quick video of a few different singing techniques and imitations I've developed over the years, feel free to let me know what you think!
PCOS Awareness MonthAs some of you probably remember from past years, PCOS Awareness Month began on Monday. I've known I've had PCOS since I was thirteenPCOS Awareness Month10 months ago in Personal More Like This
years old, and it's something that I feel needs attention.
EDIT - Along with featuring art, I'm considering including quotes about PCOS, so if you've got something to share, please comment!
All that aside, here's some basic truth about PCOS:
PCOS stands for Poly-Cystic Ovary Syndrome.
PCOS affects as many as 6-10% of woman, but most don't even know it exists, let alone that they have it.
PCOS can cause insulin resistance which can lead to the onset of Type II Diabetes.
Not only can it lead to Diabetes, PCOS has also been linked with high blood pressure, heart disease, and certain cancers.
PCOS is a leading cause of infertility in women, though not all woman are affected by this.

Thor: The God of Thunder
Loki: The God of Mischief
Freya: The Goddess of Love
One day, Thor's hammer was stolen. Loki searched for it, and found that the giant Thrym had hidden the hammer, and refused to give it back unless Freya became his wife. The gods worked out a plan to get the hammer back while keeping Freya safe. Thor was dressed up as a beautiful woman and Freya even lent him her neckalce. Thor had a bristling red beard, so he must have looked ridiculous! He was sent to the giant and Loki went with him. At first the giant was worried about his bride's enormous appetite and fierce eyes, but Loki convinced him that it was Freya. Finally, the giant brought out Thor's hammer, and gave it to his new bride. Thor gave an enormous roar, tore off his wedding dress, and killed the giant with his hammer.

In other parts of the world, however, it's a continuing threat. Such as in Norway, where a man recently swerved to avoid a moose.....and hit a bear.

A little chickenwire over the windows wouldn't hurt, either.....

Ask Nox?So a while ago, I started an "Ask Nox" series, where you get to ask me a question and I'd respond with a deviation post. (Of course, I can't respond to everybody, that'd be hard.) I'd just like to refresh this series by posting a newer journal about it.Ask Nox?3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I LOVE interesting questions that can have a very open ending. Those usually come out the best!
You must post your question on this journal.
Please keep it clean. I won't answer to anything perverted.
Just because I started this new journal, does not mean I won't ever go back to the other one to find good questions.
Please keep in mind that I probably won't be able to answer everybody's question.
Some examples of the Ask Nox series:

Do you use the little comb that came with the figure? Or do you use your own comb? Maybe a beard comb?
Ladies brush hair all the time... So I'm mostly curious how many guyfolk do it. Because I have this hilarious picture in my head of random dudes secretly brushing their pony's hair when they're sure no one else is around. Middle and high school boys, college guys, and young adults alike.

REMEMBER THAT city or local ordinances still prevail over all these laws. If the city or county in which you live prohibits the possession of such an animal where you live, you would be in violation of local ordinances. To find out the laws in each city and county, you would need to check with each entity individually.
UK-England, Scotland, etc:
you do not require a permit or any other paper work as they are not on the DWAL list.
as for paperwork there is none which is a bonus to living in the UK plus you can move anywhere you want in the UK and you can take your furry friend with you.

What is a Brony? While for a while the term Brony was used to mean boy, teenager or adult male who likes my little pony: friendship is magic, in this group we use the word to mean anybody who likes the show. A gender neutral word. Similarly to how "Cool story bro" isn't always directed at males. What is a Brony?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Bronies, to me, are anybody who likes the show, no matter how much they like it.
False terms. Sane vs Rabid.
People obsess over all sorts of things don't they? I remember when I was younger being completely obsessed with Pokémon. I'd want all the games, I'd watch all the shows, I'd want all the trading cards. I still have many of my trading cards now because they still give me happiness when I can play with them with my friends. Did that make me a rabid Pokémon fan? No.
I think we all could use a bit of child like joy like that in our lives some times. Like when you are gaming or when you are maybe watching a funny YouTube video or whatever, it's nice to have that feeling.
Is it bad to be obsessive over a show

You all mean very dear to me.
From the moment i met you through skype i feel like a big part of me is opening up that i thought i locked up away after being rejected and felt so alone. Through the years of my life i had little friends and those little friends weren't as good of a real and true friend as i thought.
We may not know each other for a long time, but for some reason i feel a special bond between us that no force can break.
you gys made me feel like i'm apart of something and i'm not afraid to be myself. Even you guys accept my corny cheesy jokes for what they are and don't judge me.
It's my turn now to repay you for all your kindness and for accepting me as your friend and who i am.
No matter how mad i am or upset i am over skype, the first comedic thing you say or even if its an unintentional comedic thing you say, you get me laughing so hard my thighs hurt.
Theres a charm about you that makes you unique. you may

How Malware Works Via Banner Ads
As many deviants know, deviantART has been working hard to combat malicious banner ads that infiltrate
our advertising network, and we've previously addressed this issue in
and August 2011.
In our ongoing effort to keep the deviantART community safe, we wanted to share the following
video that explains how malicious ads inundate the Web.

Malware advertising is an Internet-wide problem that affects many of the Net's top sites.

First thing's first, Nichrysalis has an awesome project going on at his journal about disabilities, go give it a read!
However, I've noticed a huge amount of people around - not just there, but on the internet in general - who are claiming to have both Asperger's or another autism spectrum disorder (which are sometimes collectively termed pervasive developmental disorders, medically) in addition to ADHD.
Differential diagnosis is a thing. If you have a condition that is a symptom of a more significant condition, it is not the lesser plus the greater. It is only the greater, with few exceptions, as far as psychiatric diagnosis goes. The diagnosis of an autism-spectrum disorder actually precludes diagnosis of ADHD. If you are seeing a psychiatrist who is trying to diagnose you with both,

Many times a friend or a deviant has said to me, "oh I could never fold origami, I'm not gifted that way", but it's just not true! As part of projecteducate's Artisan Crafts week, I'm going to show you how simple it is to find and fold something gorgeous and to present it well to your internet audience.
With just a little inspiration and a bit of patience, ANY one of us could fold something absolutely lovely. So what are you waiting for?? Let's get folding!
1) BE INSPIRED
First of all, you need to figure out what you want to fold. You need inspiration from looking at gorgeous origami, from admiring nature and the world around, or maybe it'll just hit you like a random lightning bolt. We are super privileged to have many experienced and skilful origamists on dA, many who create their own models from scratch. From persona
THIS IS A FUCKING LONG DREAMI had a dream last night about people that were in a type of insane asylum, and a girl, her brother, and her father were at the beach right next to it. And the girl had fallen into a rocky stream nearby, and went down the river. The father and the brother didnt notice, and kept doing what they were doing. The girl eventually cried out and screamed, yelling at her father for not helping her, as she started to climb back.THIS IS A FUCKING LONG DREAM1 year ago in Personal More Like This
she got back, and her father yelled at her, and they argued. Eventually she was taken back into the house.
Later that night, she went out into the beach, and dug into the sand. She dug for quiet a while, I guess trying to get her mind off the fact that she hates her family? Until she dug far, and a big patch of yellow started to glow, covering her in light. She put her hand into it, and went inside the light.
She was sucked into a world, a beachy area with people dancing and singing, and be generally happy. It was basically heaven. She was approached by a person, that g

Today I learned that asking someone to please stop complaining and whining on my page is the same as hate mail. xD Kids making new meanings for stuff never gets old. And apparently it gives you a low maturity level aswell. D8 what am I missing here?
Remember people dont tell others how to behave, it makes you immature and a hater. I knew I shouldnt trust my parents and teatchers, they are so immature and old compared to me so they cant go tell people how to behave.

Opening the Darkest Door
I have recently come across a most disturbing phenomenon in my studies of the Diabolic Infestation of the Soul. It seems there is a most frightening psychological conundrum when considering the concept of demonic possession even the most remote possibility of reality upon our earthly plane is the notion that just believing it may be true could very likely be the spark needed for the Demon to discover, seek out, and ultimately inhabit its next vessel of evil: You.

The Chicken MaskOnce upon a time, a time long forgotten, a baby chicken pecked at his too-small shell with his beak. When he was finally free of his personal prison he looked around at a barren waist land that seemed to once be a joyful place of livestock and crops. He stumbled out of the bottom of the broken egg that once contained him. Giant mounds of dirt stood in his path as he tried to find shelter before the on-coming storm, after much struggling he found an abandoned barn, he quickly ducked in and waited for the storm to pass. The Chicken Mask3 years ago in Personal More Like This
When the baby chicken awoke he found that he was very hungry, after searching around in the barn he realized that he would have to make-by on moldy, half-decayed hay. Once he was full he decided it was time to venture out and try to find help or, possibly, his family. After aimlessly wondering around he came to a small town, bright and invit

The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.
If you hear a voice within you say 'you cannot paint,' then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.

A work of art is the unique result of a unique temperament.
Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.
An artist is not paid for his labor but for his vision.
Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.
The essence of all beautiful art, all great art, is gratitude.
