The Gift - Chapter OneThis is a gay/yaoi story. So if you don't like, don't stay.
I walked into my last class of the day feeling that it couldn't be any better. My birthday this year was just getting better and better. Before I use to hate having my birthday the week after exams. It was just in time for me to get all the bad news about how great I didn't do on most of my exams, and then to round it off, take my report card home for mom and dad to see, and sign, so I could take it back to my councilor who would place it in my permanent record.
But not this year. I had my friend Kim help me out. Over the phone, or in person, we did every piece of homework we were given and studied for every exam and quiz we didn't know we were getting. Some of the teachers try to be sneaky like that. I'm going to brag when I got home, I said to myself as I walked through the door and saw the teacher copying over the last of the grades into a book.
This was the easiest class I had this year. I'm so get
The Gift - Chapter Four“Want me to ride the bus with you to your house? I have everything with me,” Kim asked as we walked down the hall after our last class of the day.The Gift - Chapter Four4 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
“You can go ahead, I'm meeting up with Keven,” I told her.
“What for?” she asked.
“I'm about to find out who he's been all lovely dovey and trading texts with,” I told her.
“I thought you already knew,” she told me sounding puzzled.
“You know who it is?” I asked her.
“Well yeah,” she said just before we exited the main doors of the school. “You know too,” she added as she looked around the front parking area of the school.
“No I don't,” I argued. “Keven said the same thing, but I don't know who his girlfriend is,” I told Kim.
“Wow,” she said as she turned to look at me wide eyed.
“What?” I demanded of her.
“No wonder you don't know,” she said when we came to another stop at the foot of st

“Let me go over this again,” I told her. “I found a gift box on my desk today at school in my last class. When I got home I found a small envelope in my jacket pocket and it wasn't there before I left school. It was in the same pocket as my iPod that I turned on after my last class,” I told her for the second time.
“Can you think of any time someone would have been able to put the envelope in your pocket?” she then asked me. I knew it was coming. I denied it for the last two hours. Now I had to say it out loud.
“Matthews,” I said the one word that might as well mean doom to me during this part of my life.
“Matthews?” she asked me. “Cole Matthews? The guy that punched you last year when you got into a fight with one of his friends?” She asked in a long descriptive question. “That Matthews?” she added on as if I had missed all that she said before. No
The Gift - Chapter Three“Cool headset,” Keven said when he saw me in class on Tuesday. We didn't have a class together on Mondays and Wednesdays by the way, so this was the first time he had a chance to see them. “Was that the gift?” he asked me as he sat down. The Gift - Chapter Three4 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
“Yep. Sweet ha?” I asked him already knowing that he thought that they were. They, the headphones, were currently hanging around my neck with the music still playing. Because they stood out so much, I couldn't have them on anymore during class like Matthews had predicted, but as much as I was 'glued' to my iPod, I had stopped playing it during exams and such a while back. It turns out that I was able to concentrate a bit more when I wasn't remembering what the next line in a song was.
“Very,” Keven answered. “Did they come with a card or something?” he asked as he turned towards me in his chair.
“No, not really,” I half lied. I hadn't come up with an answer for Matthews' unasked qu
The Gift - Chapter FiveIt was all disjointed, but I still felt good. I felt horny high. First we were at the front of the bus. His hand was pressed into my back as I waited for the door to open. Then we were in the back of the bus as the driver went right by my stop. I was looking into Cole's eyes as he raised his hand to my face. I closed my eyes and I felt his knuckles as he slid the back of his hand along my cheek. The Gift - Chapter Five4 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
When I opened my eyes again I was sitting and he was looking down at me and the bus was empty, but still moving. For some reason I wasn't afraid that we would crash or anything. Then I was standing again and we were back at the front of the bus. I don't know if I was waiting for the door to open, but everyone was there again. The bus driver, Betts, who always sat in the front seat, and Cole's father who was sitting outside in his expensive car.
The only thing different was that I don't think anyone saw us. In fact on one else was moving or even breathing as far as I can tell other than me an
The Gift - Chapter Six“I didn't think that you would be the kind to dump a guy before you had him,” Kim said once she had me seated next to her in the back of the bus for our ride home. The Gift - Chapter Six4 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
“I haven't dumped anyone,” I told her as I started to lift my headphones into place. I didn't want to talk about it. In fact, I wanted to forget about it. I just wanted to think about Cole. I felt Kim pulling my headphones back as soon as I had them settled them over my ears.
“Then what was that kiss in the hallway and the flirting on the bus?” she asked with as much interest as I've seen her show in a long time.
“Ah!” I exclaimed in exasperation before turning to face her.
“That wasn't a kiss,” I told her not caring how loud I was, since people were going to find out anyway if they didn't already know. “It was an accident. A mistake. I turned around and he walked right into me,” I totally explained.
She looked like she wanted to, or had something else t

Chapter 1: Lost
Burning, blinding, suffocating cold...
The whiteness was terrible, the chill seeping into his bones and making him tremble like a leaf in autumn. He wound his good arm around himself to lessen the chill, but his damp sleeve didn't do much but raise goosebumps on the skin of his stomach, exposed by his torn shirt.
His legs felt like lead, his insides like slush, and the icy wind h

Prologue: Just One Moment
"Nnn... Can't... reach... Poe!" The short brunet stretched his arms as high above his head as he possibly could, struggling to reach a thick, black-bound volume. Even though he stood on tip-toe, precariously perched atop a chair, he was still at least a foot away from his prize, a book of the collected works of Edgar Allen Poe. He gave a little jump, in hopes of obtaining his goal, but failed miserably, and in doing so, slipped from his perch, arms waving, and crashed t

“So how do I look?” I asked her as I stood there waiting for one of a number things to happen. She turned around and looked at me with her mouth slightly open as she thought of a question to ask until she had one.
“That looks nice dear, but I thought you were just going to watch a game?” she asked before I turned to walk into my room to check how I looked in the mirror again. “Are you meeting someone at the game?” I heard her ask from the door way. I gave her a quick look before I changed my shirt for another one that was darker.
“How about this?” I asked instead of answering her.
“That is good too. So who is this girl?” she asked showing that she wasn't going to drop it.

A Small World
I was shoved hard against a brick wall, a hand enclosing around my throat.
"No," I gasped through clenched teeth, groaning in pain. "P- Please stop."
The silver-haired man moved closer to me and grinned, revealing slightly crooked, tobacco-stained teeth.
"Then hand it over," He sneered, allowing his free hand to roam my body for valuables.
I trembled and clamped my grey eyes shut, feeling the grip on my neck tightening.
"I- It's in my pocket." I mouthed, struggling to breathe.
I felt his hand reach deep into my pants pocket and grab hold of my wallet. He pulled it out, grinning like he'd just won the lottery. Still keeping a strong grasp around my neck, he dug into the wallet, seizing a wad of money.
"Thank you very much." He derided, and coldly threw me to the side.
I landed hard against the alley's cracked concrete and sat up slowly as he ran off, stuffing the bills into his pocket.
"What a great welcoming gift to the city." I wh
MeltMasomi Kida awoke one morning with an image in his head. Actually it was more like he woke up with a PERSON on his mind. Mikado Ryugamine's gorgeous baby-face filled his mind. Groaning, the boy rolled over and opened his eyes to the darker side of the room. He sat up, then leaned against the metal headboard for support. He had a horrible hangover with a tremendous headache. This only reminded him of what happened last night. How rough Elrick had been, the feeling of their lips together, the wine tricking down his throat. The thought alone was too much to bear, causing him to blush and shudder. Hadrian pulled his legs into his chest and sighed. Pulling a small, pale hand through his auburn hair, he stared down at the unmoving lump that was his master. With the suns rays creeping through the window and onto his face, Tobi woke up to a bright morning. Yawning and stretching, the boy swung his legs over the side of his bed and reached out for his mask. Slipping it on, he jumped of his bed and began to prepare himself for the day. While making his bed Tobi softly whispered to himself with delight,
"Tobi's so excited! Tosca-chan promised that she would take Tobi to the amusement park!" squealing to himself as he finished up his bed, the masked boy ran over to his bathroom to get ready for the day he had been anticipating for over a week.
Once ready, Tobi hurried away from his room and ran down the labyrinth of halls to Tosca's room. Closing in on her bed room door, Tobi practically began to bounce off the walls out of mere happiness.
"Tosca-chan!" he yelled out as he slammed the door open, not even bothering to knock. Peering inside the room, Tobi found that his friend wasn't in the room.

"You seem quiet today, Yuki. Are you feeling well? Is your home life okay?!" Kaito asked, pushing his hand aggressively against Yuki's forehead.
"Kaito, stop! I'm fine!" Yuki yelled. Kaito pulled his hand away back quickly, with a kicked-puppy look on his face.

Who was I?The first memory I have is waking up in a hospital bed. I was told that I'd been in a coma for a month which explained a lot of things, but I'd apparently broken my leg badly before it. Surgery on both my leg and chest, doctors having had to open me up to repair a lot of damage to one of my lungs. I was considered lucky to be alive, but at the same time, I was at a loss for anything that told me who the people in my room were, who I was, who anyone I was supposed to have known were.Who was I?3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
It took me eleven months to get discharged from the hospital, having had several surgeries on my leg and knee and countless hours of physical therapy. I'd still have a permanent limp, but at least when I left, I didn't have to use a cane anymore unless I was in severe pain. I wasn't sent home though. Apparently, I hadn't really lived there before the accident so I was being sent back to the boarding school where I'd been previously. That didn't bother me since I didn't really know the people who claimed to

"Yes, sir," I muttered, dropping the roll of cash on the console beside him before leaning my head against the window. It was another typical night where my mother was off at work at the corner mart for the midnight shift and my dead beat step father was selling my body for his beer money. I was long past my surprise at his ability to find so many men who were interested in little boys yet his inability to find a job.
The ride home was silent as I stared at the shadows of the trees we passed on our way back to the run down shack we called home. I'd long given up dreaming of a better life. I was almost resigned to the horror that was what I called my life. No one in this stupid town noticed what my step father was doing and those that knew weren't going to go to the police since they'd be hit with prostitution and rape of a minor.

The room was bathed in blue moonlight from the large window whose curtains had been set aside; laughter was trickling into the room from the crack at the bottom of the door. It must have floated down the hallway from the ballroom. In the room was a couch that faced the window and upon that couch lay the body of someone who seemed to have given up. It was a young man, maybe just twenty, his long red hair spilling down from the couch side. His jacket had long ago been discarded and so he was left in his frilly white shirt and dark blue vest, his breeches rumpled. From knee down, his legs, one over the couch arm the other hanging to the floor, were clad in shiny black boots. This was the look of someone who no longer cared, someone who had long ago lost his appetite for the false glamour that was society. I do not belong to that life anymore, he thought to himself.
A bird chirped and he moved his head which had been facing the ceiling towards the large window. Outside was a la
