Where art meets application...

I know deviantART uses this slogan but I couldn't resist ;)

This is the Jacques-Cartier bridge in Montreal.

I worked a lot to find the right effect for this pic but finally realized that the simple monochrome was the best way of enhancing it.

The eponymous photography.
The huge and the lonely.
The dark and the beauty.
The still and the moving.
Everything is there, the words are escaping from my mind, all that is left, is here.

Another experimentation with my new camera (CanonDigital Rebel!).

I took a lot of pictures of montreal from this point of view. But none came out like i wanter. It was pretty windy...and my tripod is no heavy enough...so all picture are blured. I will go back on another day. I reaaly want my "montreal by night" picture. Long exposure are harder then they seem.

This one wasnt so bad...

This is from a roll I shot about 10 months ago. I decided to finally have the roll developped and was suprised to find this shot on it. I had totally forgotten what was on it.

It was taken in Old Montreal, around 2:00 AM. I had to do a great deal of trespassing to get to this location, which is public property. Figure that out. [ EDIT : I figured out why, it was closed for the season, and it's for pedestrians, not cars ] What's really strange is that strange sculpture to the right is really hidden out here. You can't get here unless you sneak through the guarded yard and walk (or in my case drive) across a wodden access bridge that is supposed to be off limits to the public. What the scuplture represents is a mystery to me. I'd love to hear the story behind it.

Exposure : ~10 minutes @ f/11

Camera : Nikon N60

Lens : AF Nikkor 20mm f/2.8D

Film : Fujichrome 64T Pro

Scanner : Kodak RFS 3600
