I suck at drawing hair and I chose this reference not only because I love the photo but I had to try harder with the hair. I dont know what it is, I just cant do it very well, but this one is better than most ... hurrah
I changed the butterfly from the reference image just so it would have a little body.

A3 Extra Smooth Bristol
Graphite 2H, HB, 2B, 4B and 6B
Tortillions
Tissue
Erasers
Blue Tac
Reference

Thank you for having a look
Paula

Note: Since a couple of people have actually recognised this as Hilary Duff, I thought I better give her a mention! She started life as Hilary, but I thought it a good idea to freehand and didn't catch the likeness at all .. I thought, so she became 'Just a girl'.

I absolutely love this reference of Liv Tyler. Hopefully a more minimal approach works with it :aww:

I'm not very good with scanning and stitching, so I'm a little sad that this doesn't really do my drawing any justice, but I tried my best and this is as good as I can get it :ashamed:

Materials this time:
A3 Canson Bristol Board :bleh:
Graphite (Wooden and Mech) 2H, 2B, 4B and 6B
Erasers
Tortillion
Time: About 11 hours

Print available in my shop - www.etsy.com/shop/BrighteyesAr…

Thank you very much for having a look

I have WIPs here - and details here -

Also, the lovely *Ilojleen is drawing this same reference, once she has finished, I'll pop a link in here, her's is looking fantastic :la:

NOTE: I don't really know for sure where the minimal type style drawings originated, but as I said in my last minimal drawing, *IleanaHunter is the person I admire most for this style, so credit goes to her from me. Hopefully a bit of me is still in here though :fingerscrossed:

This was fun to do :)

Before I ramble on about the bits I used I want to say that the very amazing and generous :iconflexdreams: allowed me to use one of his shots as a reference. This one, I have based on one of his photos. The pose and the girl are in this position, but I changed her features and face a little to show anguish .... I hope :eager: The background was just me playing really.

Materials:
A3 Extra Smooth Bristol (bright white .... so thats why the white is WHITE! I lightened it a little after the scan altered it and now its glowing ... okay for lightening, not great for the other areas)
Graphite - Wooden and Mechanical
Graphite Powder
Erasers
Tortillion
Sponge
Masking Fluid
Time: About 12 hours or thereabouts

Print available in my shop - www.etsy.com/shop/BrighteyesAr…

I always appreciate any feedback

EDIT: The very lovely :iconstacyraven: has coloured my drawing :la: I love what she did, I'm so impressed - :thumb227183603:

I had the urge to draw this right away before finishing my other one on the go. So, its not drawn just as well as it should be, but I had to get it onto paper :P

I got the idea when browsing through this lovely girls gallery - :iconsteffc-photography:

The reference is from the very amazing :iconmegolddust: who very kindly gave me permission to draw from her gallery. I LOVE her shots and want to draw so many of them :la:

Materials:
Graphite 2H, 2B, 4B and 6B
Faber Castell Polychromos cp's
Erasers
Ruler
Strathmore Bristol, the drawing is about 11"x8" ish
Time - about 9-10 hours

For the love of God. I am DONE. :dalove:

...Holy balls. Daily Deviation...

Oh my, my 16th birthday is coming up in a month and a half, and this was the first big drawing I had finished in about 5 months time! I should get to work on more stuff before July rolls around...

A big shout out to all of those dedicated watchers who kept up with this WIP. This took in total about 5 months, probably 80+ hours of work. I've never spent this long on a single drawing before, and I'm just kind of shocked that I actually finished it at this point.

This picture was drawn from the awesome gallery of :iconmalvina-frolova:, and here is the picture I referenced off of: malvina-frolova.deviantart.com… Check out the rest of her gallery, it is beautiful! The model of the photo is the gorgeous :iconbloodstonished: !!

Ah, success.

Graphite on Bristol board 19x19"

Also, this is my other big drawing I did for my amazing friend Vlad! I did his portrait in January, then started to work on the Freckles drawing! => elvis882.deviantart.com/art/Vl…

Here is a picture of me holding the drawing, so you can see how big it is! Lol! => i50.tinypic.com/2l901ef.jpg

Thank you sooooo much for all of your comments/faves on this! I logged onto dA and I had like 1,700 messages overnight!! I appreciate this support so much, and I'll try to reply to all of your comments! :dalove:

Ok guys I'm not gonna submit a print of this cause it's not my original photo, I just drew it. The photo itself is not copyright to me so i will not sell something that is not originally mine.

For some info on how I drew it and some close ups: :thumb174035562:

Finally it's finished :) It was hard to draw all the water, even harder than drawing hair, but I'm happy with the result.

=akaLilith inspired me to start this picture. Because of her great work, like this one, I decided to meet the challenge and draw water.

Previous steps can be found here.

Tools: Pencils from H to 8B, eraser, tortillons, tissues, patience
Duration: don't ask, I've no idea
Size: approx. 21 cm X 29 cm

The girl is the german model Hana Nitsche.
