I suck at drawing hair and I chose this reference not only because I love the photo but I had to try harder with the hair. I dont know what it is, I just cant do it very well, but this one is better than most ... hurrah I changed the butterfly from the reference image just so it would have a little body.
3 down, who knows how many to go I finally got one of my WIPs completed
Some details of this drawing is in the WIPs here
Materials this time: A3 Extra Smooth Bristol Graphite 2H, HB, 2B, 4B and 6B Tortillions Tissue Erasers Blue Tac Reference Time: Not sure, about 18 hours or thereabouts.
Thank you for having a look Paula
Note: Since a couple of people have actually recognised this as Hilary Duff, I thought I better give her a mention! She started life as Hilary, but I thought it a good idea to freehand and didn't catch the likeness at all .. I thought, so she became 'Just a girl'.
Also, the lovely *Ilojleen is drawing this same reference, once she has finished, I'll pop a link in here, her's is looking fantastic
NOTE: I don't really know for sure where the minimal type style drawings originated, but as I said in my last minimal drawing, *IleanaHunter is the person I admire most for this style, so credit goes to her from me. Hopefully a bit of me is still in here though
Before I ramble on about the bits I used I want to say that the very amazing and generous allowed me to use one of his shots as a reference. This one, I have based on one of his photos. The pose and the girl are in this position, but I changed her features and face a little to show anguish .... I hope The background was just me playing really.
Materials: A3 Extra Smooth Bristol (bright white .... so thats why the white is WHITE! I lightened it a little after the scan altered it and now its glowing ... okay for lightening, not great for the other areas) Graphite - Wooden and Mechanical Graphite Powder Erasers Tortillion Sponge Masking Fluid Time: About 12 hours or thereabouts
I draw the face from my mind (Imagination) , it does not look like the original image off course , except the hair, neck and shoulder . I draw by Pencils (H1-H2- HB- B7- B8) . Size A3. Model *JustMeOnyX. The original photo belong to *fhrankee at [link] . __________________________
Oh my, my 16th birthday is coming up in a month and a half, and this was the first big drawing I had finished in about 5 months time! I should get to work on more stuff before July rolls around...
A big shout out to all of those dedicated watchers who kept up with this WIP. This took in total about 5 months, probably 80+ hours of work. I've never spent this long on a single drawing before, and I'm just kind of shocked that I actually finished it at this point.
This picture was drawn from the awesome gallery of , and here is the picture I referenced off of: malvina-frolova.deviantart.com… Check out the rest of her gallery, it is beautiful! The model of the photo is the gorgeous !!
