NOTE: I know some of you lovely dA friends get a bit miffed about the Black&White Club rejecting art, so I thought I'd share the reason this one was declined The highlight on her nose is too white ('tis the paper and my scanner, it's just like that, I didn't do a thing) the highlights that look like glitter are distracting (um, they were put there on purpose) and the eyes are unapportioned (that's great to know, I though they looked about right). So there you have it Another one bites the dust
I've been looking at a lot of minimal drawings for a while and I really love some of them. I especially love *IleanaHunter style. So I decided to have a go at something along these lines too, with her permission of course
So this is my version of a minimal style drawing. I love this reference picture, but have no idea where it came from But I can say it is not mine, I just drew it UPDATE: I found the ref - www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=318+…

Note: Since a couple of people have actually recognised this as Hilary Duff, I thought I better give her a mention! She started life as Hilary, but I thought it a good idea to freehand and didn't catch the likeness at all .. I thought, so she became 'Just a girl'.
This is a drawing of the very beautiful Kelly Eden Her picture has been the reference for the first months project of our new group Reference -
I decided not to draw the whole image and just took a part of it to focus on, but the My Little Ponies on her corset were too cute to leave out, so there they are
Materials: A4 Mellotex Graphite (H, HB, B, 4B and 8B) Pink Faber Watercolour pencil unwatered Eraser Soft brush Time: I think around 20-22 hours
The whole thing seems to have a bit of a pink tint to it, i dont know why, I think its the work of my scanner
Thank you for looking
There are some WIPs here if anyone likes these things -
EDIT: I got some advice from someone who thought the pink coloured parts could do with a bit of brightening. I've played around a little bit again as its a wee bit brighter in real life. So, the pink now looks like it does on paper but the tint over everything, i dont know why its there and dont know how to get rid of it
She is such a pretty lady and she wears very good gloves, I had to draw her

A LITTLE NOTE AND SOME INFO - I've had several people ask how I got the black so black, I actually get this question all the time, so I thought if I did it in a video it might be a good idea The video isn't the best, but you can see what's going on, it was a livestream so it stops and starts a little bit I'm redrawing part of the left side glove. The pencils I used were, in this order, 2H, 2B, 4B and 6B. 10 min version - www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZUDag… 5 min version - www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyvrYN…

I suck at drawing hair and I chose this reference not only because I love the photo but I had to try harder with the hair. I dont know what it is, I just cant do it very well, but this one is better than most ... hurrah I changed the butterfly from the reference image just so it would have a little body.
