Just a Kiss (Shakarian)Calibrating. Calibrating. Calibrating. The Mako had been put under a great deal of fire and handled with less care than it should have been. So there he was, awake long after the others. Even the requisitions’ officer, who had a tendency to stay up late to ensure all of his licenses were up to date, had called it a night. Other than the muffled hum of the drive core and hushed blips of his terminal, Garrus was the only body displaying signs of consciousness.Just a Kiss (Shakarian)2 years ago in Sci-Fi More Like This

Estimated Time Remaining: 15 minutes.
Fifteen minutes of reprieve from the glowing screen. Garrus shuffled a bit from his station and stretched. He lulled his neck from side to side, rolled his shoulders, contemplated grabbing a few winks, rejected it, shifted his hips, then leaned against the Mako. He flexed his talons a couple times each as he observed the nearly empty shuttle bay. Blue eyes moved over Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams’ st
PurgatoryEven here, in Purgatory, Vega wasn't completely at ease. The club still had an air of stuffiness about it, although he had to admit that it was better than standing around the embassies or the commons by far. Plus - he smirked as a cute asari and her redheaded friend walked by him, smiling coyly - the view here was much lovelier. A woman leaning over the bar talking to the salarian bartender caught his eye and his smirk widened - much, much lovelier.Purgatory3 years ago in Humor More Like This
James slowly sauntered over, sneaking covert glances at the woman at the bar. She was curvy, wearing jeans and a knit top that was snug in all the right places. Dark, wavy hair fell to her shoulders. She was just his kind of woman. He leaned on the bar next to her, an opening line on his lips, and found himself staring at Betty Shepard herself.
"Oh shit, Commander!" he sputtered.
"James," she replied. If she thought his greeting odd, she certainly didn't let it show.
Vega gawked a little bit. He'd only ever seen Shepard in full armor or in

Garrus, Victus and a moment between battles on Menae.))
Menae was one of the worst battles Garrus had ever been involved in. Oh sure, Saren and the Collectors had been bad, but at least he had know where the goal was with those. Here, there was no goal, no end to the fighting. Just wave after wave of enemies that you hoped you could hold out against until a miracle happened. That was what he kept thinking they were going to need to defeat the Reapers, an outright miracle.
Surprised I can sleep at all with that on my mind, was the thought that ran through his mind as he rolled out of his bunk to make way for the next shift to come in for downtime. All personnel currently on the moon had been assigned to various rotating shifts to make sure that there was always someone fighting, and that everyone got some sort of rest. Of course, with the limited space that meant everything was, very, very tightly scheduled.
Shakarian: Kodiak ReunionCommander Kate Shepard shook the hand of the new Primarch of Palaven. "It's nice to have you on board with us, Primarch."Shakarian: Kodiak Reunion3 years ago in Sci-Fi More Like This
"Thank you, Commander, if it means saving Palaven, there really is no option. However, there is one thing. I appreciate your need for our fleets, but I can't spare them. Not while my world is burning. But, if the pressure could be taken off Palaven " The Primarch let the sentence finish itself.
Shepard sighed. "That's a pretty tall order."
The Primarch took a step towards Shepard. "We need the krogan. I can't see us winning this without them. Get them to help us and then we can help you."
Shepard tilted her head. "The krogan " Garrus smirked a little, knowing that head tilt was a sign that Shepard was debating.
"Looks like your summit just got more interesting." He knew he probably would pay later for that remark.
Shepard sighed and nodded. "Very well, Primarch. I will get you the krogan. Cortez, we are ready to be picked up. Rendezvous with us at these co

Characters: Garrus V. & Shepard (F)
Summary: Garrus faces the reality of serving on a human ship.
The hum of the engines hadn't bothered him before Donnelly and his crew installed the silly torque compensator (which was entirely unnecessary to begin with), into the guiding of the starboard cannon. Either there was a loose panel on the compensator, or the tech team didn't return the original panels in proper positions, and now there was a sickening resonance with one of the lower frequencies of the mass effect drive.
Garrus had demanded that the engineering crew come back and reassemble the entire thing, but Donnelly wouldn't hear of it. Literally. Garrus brought him in and instructed him what to listen to, and where to put his hand in order to feel the vibration. In the end, he even produced the frequency analysis of the entire spectrum of ac
My LoveNote: Before reading this the author would like to take a moment to say that this fiction was entirely inspired by the song "My Love" by Sia. I recommend listening to it before reading this. Garrus stood watching the sunset over Cipritine.
There wasn't much to it in the days after the Reaper invasion. Most of what his eyes gazed over were still piles of smoldering rubble, with body counts not fully amassed undoubtedly laying beneath them. In the distance, a few structures that were desperately trying to cling on to what was left of their balance tipped precariously in the breeze. It was a futile effort. For Palaven, for the galaxy, to gain itself back it was going to have to let go of what it lost.
That thought struck an icy nerve in Garrus' heart.
The turian sighed, shaking his head and turning back

Garrus shook his head, trying to look away but his eyes were being stubborn.
It didn't help that Mika Shepard was so comfortable in her own skin she usually slept naked
Every curve, every muscle was bare before him and even though he was now technically living with her in the Loft he still felt dirty watching her sleep naked.
She sighed softly and turned in her sleep, the woman now facing him.
Smooth, blue-black hair flowed from her scalp, pooling around her shoulders. He ran his talons through it as he watched the strands shimmer in the dim lighting of the room.
Brushing it aside he examined her elegant, milky white neck. The pale flesh was marred by several bite marks, tiny nips he couldn't resist making and it caused a feeling of possession to flare in him. Those were signs that she was his and his alone. A sign to other men, human and turian both, that this woman was claimed.
His talons continued to caress satin skin, the turian vigilan

Commander Shepard was used to long days. As she rubbed the back of her neck on her way toward the elevator she reflected that people seemed to think she was invulnerable. When you were the savior of the galaxy several times over, people tended to forget that you needed little things like food and rest. It was as if they expected you to be able to live on heroism alone.
At least she finally had some time to herself. After chasing a group of slavers down, coming back to find the Alliance brass was waiting to speak to her over the comm, and arguing with them for another hour, she was able to end her shift. She was going to go back to her cabin, finally get a hot shower, then fall into bed.
However, when she finally reached the elevator, Traynor
The Interview Their home was beautiful. A small ranch, much older than most homes in the neighborhood, but well taken care of. There were wild flowers growing along the walk way up to the patio that spanned the front of the house. The Interview2 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
She stepped onto the patio, straightening her jacket and running her hand over her hair one last time before she reached out a hand and knocked on the door. A few moments later he opened the door.
"Ms. Laurens?" Garrus Vakarian asked.
"Yes," she responded.
"Welcome." He nodded to her before stepping aside and allowing her into their home.
There house was a buzz of excitement. People were coming and going, moving from one room to the next like a tornado, and in the center of the storm was Jane. She was perched on the couch in the living room, her back propped up against one arm rest and her legs resting on a fat pillow.
