US Government denies existance of Mermaids>>>>http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-18692830US Government denies existance of Mermaids3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Really? I mean; really?
The US National Ocean Service had to make a statement that Mermaids do not in fact exist, after they were bombarded by enquiries regarding them in the wake of a programme aired by the Discovery Channel.
"Mermaids: The Body Found" was a work of fiction but was mistaken by a number of people to be a documentary.
I'm guessing they're the same people for whom warnings are printed on Harry Potter broomsticks, reading "Caution: Does not actually fly".......
The AvengersYou know that giddy, gleeful feeling that renders you incapable of doing little more than giggle like a lunatic? The Avengers3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I pretty much had that from start to finish during the Avengers film (Which was released on Fair Blighty's shores as "Avengers Assemble" thanks to the past efforts of Steed and Peel).
There have only been a handful of movies that invoked that kind of response in me: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Abram's Star Trek, Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes and the first Iron Man film are those which immediately spring to mind.
Indeed; Avengers is THE best Marvel movie since Iron Man. Ace cast, brilliant story, hysterical script, a scene that will stab anyone that's followed the films leading up to this point right through the heart and a fair few more surprises.
Chief among them being; how the hell did the Hulk become such a f**king awesome character after so many naff films?
I'm gonna go see this one again!

I spent 3 months last summer helping to design the look of the control room as well as the holographic elements and desktop interfaces you see in action. I'm excited to see the full sequences and find out how much of my design the final FX ended up retaining, but from a quick glance I can see quite a lot which is really cool. You can see it a the 0:19 mark in the video below as well.
I'm not sure when I can officially show the work I did, but I'll be sure to find out soon. It might have to wait until the movie comes out at the end of next month.
Anyway, take care!

Teenage Alien Ninja TurtlesI've just learned that filmmaker Michael Bay (aka - Uwe-Boll-With-A-Budget) has turned his withering gaze upon the Heroes in a Half-Shell, and has set about mutilating the franchise by informing us that their origin will change in his upcoming (oh god; if I have to refer to another film as this I may start weeping blood) reboot.Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Y'know in the Disney animation Bolt where the idiot pigeons give a one-word pitch at how to "improve" the series that the titular doggie has absconded from? It's a dig at crappy writers that have no idea how to come up with an original idea and so just shoehorn in absurd new story elements to an existing tale.
Well; that's basically what Mr Bay has said:
Nope. They're not mutants anymore. They're aliens.
After Transformers: This should be buried on the dark side of the Moon (or whatever it was called), I vowed never to piss away my money or, more importantly; my time, watching any future film Bay is connected with.
This news kinda reinfo

2) you left some ignorant or rude comment on one of my stock images and I didn't feel like dealing with it (again) so I gave you this link to help soothe your suffering.

I just want to say thank you (again) to everyone that watched and enjoyed the MLP season finale this weekend. There were lots of hard nights and long hours from all of us on the DHX crew to make it the best would possibly could. Of course, there are things that are always going to be imperfect, but overall from what I gather, it seemed well-received.
I was also shocked at how many people recognized my OC pony that made a small cameo in this weekend's episode. As a blanket response to a lot of the same questions I've been getting all weekend: No, I did not voice her and I'm unsure as to who did. I would assume just one of the regular VA's. She was put in kind of last minute. The artist who drew her in the storyboard, made her look like my pony (just a coincidence), and after seeing i

ATalkHappy Easter everyone! I feel like... I just want to talk today. Because I think there's things I've learned and feel and think that sometimes I just want to say.ATalk3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Let's start with stories.
What I find great about any form of storytelling is how honest it is. There is no other form of shared knowledge that can teach us how to live our lives better. None. That being said, we see stories in everything. We look at a tree with a fence grown into it, and think of when the fence must have been built, who may have built it, etc. We see a couple arguing on the street and ponder as to what could have gotten them to this point. We hear a snapping twig in the woods, and plan our escape route from whatever magnificent beast lurks in the brush! As human beings, we LOVE stories. But why?
We love stories because they teach us how to live. Think about any good movie, book, or other story. It should have moved you in some way. Some stories teach us how to deal with the intense hardship

Look, at the end of the day, this site provides a service. You can choose to pay for it, or you can choose to not pay for it. It works either way. If you really don't like it, not only should you not pay for it, but don't use it. No one is forcing you to.
It seems like a lot of people seem to think that being a member of this site gives them ownership of it. It doesn't. Be grateful it exists. Be happy that it is (now) profitable. For a long time it wasn't. The people who work on it deserve to make some money - they work hard.
If you don't agree with any of this, I think you're lacking in perspective. There's nothing keeping you here if you don't want to be. I think DA does a great job of listening to a vast community and trying to make changes to please it's members. It can't be incredibly dynamic and flexible to accomodate e
Tutorial and Inspiration MasterPostWell, some weeks ago when I posted my Journal Ten Years of Drawing, :iconSyalice: asked me in the comment what my fave tutorials were for composition and other things like that.Tutorial and Inspiration MasterPost1 year ago in Personal More Like This
So I thought I was just going to do a giant tutorial masterpost.
Also, on sidenote, I GOT MY NEW TABLET, LIFE IS AWESOME. I wanted to do a giveaway with my previous one, but only five minutes after I unpacked the new tablet, my little brother just waltzed in and asked if he could take the old one. I must say, I wasn't too happy with that, because he isn't really drawing seriously and I thought there were people who would need it more, but my mother thought it was a very good idea indeed and so I had to give it to him. There goes that, then.
So, Tutorials !

Devious Journal EntryI'm going to have a little art talk here for a moment, and whether or not you feel inclined to listen is ultimately up to you.Devious Journal Entry3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I've noticed that a some people really get hung up on art styles. Whether it's a lot of people or a little really doesn't matter, because I'm mostly speaking of this from my own personal experience.
A "style" of art can mean a lot of things, but what I think I happen to miss often times is that the manner in which I draw a line has absolutely nothing to do with it. And where I find myself stumbling is when I make such a trivial thing one of the top-most priorities for myself or use it as a method of definition.
You know, thinking things such as "If my style isn't unique, I'm not doing good enough!"
Before I continue, I'll put a couple disclaimers up-- No, this is not an excuse for someone to copy another's way of drawing and never form their own, and neither is it underplaying the importance of a unique look. Both are extremely important things to be aware of,
Song from the other wallSo I've been living in my single room dorm for 2 years straight for college. There's a song coming the wall from the left side of my room from time to time, only in the bathroom actually.Song from the other wall3 years ago in Personal More Like This
It's very well sang, like that of a professional singer, and it's a very old era song, like something from an opera.
I've always thought it is a very nice song, and didn't think too much of it.
But actually, no modern college student would sing a song like that, and it definitely doesn't sound like from a record machine.
I didn't give much thought about it since I'm surrounded by other college students.
But then, only now it came to me that the left side of my room is a locked room and noone lives in it.
I could hear the song so clearly it could only be coming from the left side of the wall.
Asked my neighbors around and noone even sings, not to mention the tenants change frequently in my dorm and I'm the only one who actually stay for 2 years in the same room.
I've been pretty blunt about this althou

I'm honestly posting this journal to get my previous one off my front page. The more I think about it, the angrier I get, and unlike plenty of my fellow fans, getting mad when I think about Korra is definitely NOT what I want. I want to be excited and inspired. Please feel free to keep commenting on it and stuff, and I will try to get around to answering all your insightful comments, but for right now, my mantra is "I cannot change people" and I need a little distance. For the record- nothing bad has happened, everything is fine, I'm just trying to get the sour taste out of my mouth and clear up some of my bad juju so I can keep making fun fanarts!
SO! On a WAY MORE FUN note!

Negativity in fandom, and the dreaded "thoughI was talking with a friend about how some fandoms are super fun to be a part of. And some...not so much. I regret to say, as much as I love Korra, it's not a particularly fun fandom for me. Neither was Avatar. (They're FAR from the only fandoms that suffer from the problems I'm going to be "talking" (word-vomiting) about, but they're the ones I've had the most experience with.)Negativity in fandom, and the dreaded "though3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Fandom has become a dirty word. I have literally been accused of participating in fandom. Wait, accused of what? For me, the whole idea of "fandom" can be summed up in one word: excitement. Man, I love getting excited about shit. And I LOVE talking to other people who are excited about shit! And then our excitement spirals around each other's and then we make awesome creations with that extreme excitement. EXCITEMENT-BENDING! This is what happens EVERY time I post a fanart, and I c
