Now I know Legend of the Boneknapper was kind of a flop, and I think a big part of that was because we hardly got to see some real interactions with the characters we love. It was mostly Gobber reflecting and a lot of crack humor.
But THIS. This made me happy. With a little bit of sadness.
Don't look at this if you don't want to be spoiled
First of all, we get some good hard information. For one thing - a couple dragon names. I'm still not sure what Fishlegs is sa
Fandom Price VS industry Pricefirst of all~ Happy new year fellas~ Hope this year will be awesome, wonderful, and full of adventure~Fandom Price VS industry Price4 years ago in Personal More Like This
and i found this on TUMBLR, i felt it's kinda interested to share in here.
To be honest, the fandom price that written on that list was still "too high", i felt.
in Indonesia it's even more worse, Industry's price even more crazy then fandom's price.
i remember 3-4 years back, i working for local indonesian publishing (pt. Gramedia) for a full color spreads illustration and they only pay me 10 bucks... and it's still happening nowaday.
and for fandom price, can't count how many notes i got: asking for my commission price but at the end they just gone after i gave the list or nagging it's too expensive~ also heard a complain from someone on TUMBLR that her 2USD price for chibi commission on Con had been mark on "too high".
it gave me a facepalm. really.
do you guys have same experience with this as well?

THERE'S A NEW PRINCE IS IN THE KINGDOM!O.K. I totally caved in, gave up, and couldn’t hold it any more. The next portrait of a Disney guy, will not be your typical ‘hero’. LIVE character design workshop- BETAHey everyone. I'm on vacation this week, but I hope you are all having a good summer so far. I wanted to announce a new program I want to start of live internet workshops/lectures on character art/character posing. I've been thinking about this for awhile, but its very intimidating figuring out the best way to do it- SO, I'm just gonna start! I need your help though. I want to hear your comments and suggestions on what, how, when this is done. Please do two things for me: 1) Comment on my thoughts below on how this can work and what will be discussed- especially any thoughts on the tech side like Paypal and internet conferencing sites and 2) hit the LIKE button on this journal if you would seriously do this. It will give me a rough headcount of what I can expect. Super important.LIVE character design workshop- BETA3 years ago in Personal More Like This

I have always loved anthologies. Growing up in Britain 95 percent of the comics were weekly anthologies so it has been firmly ingrained in my psyche.
I've always felt that anthologies are a good platform for experimentation, trying new ideas and styles, introducing new talent and especially good to read in the bathroom. I'll never forget the impression Heavy Metal had on me when I first saw it.
They're perfect for those moments when you've read through the 100 comics you've bought that month and realized there wasn't a single complete story in the pile.
I've recently relaunched two previously successful anthologies, A1 and MONSTER MASSACRE.
I have also been enjoy

Traditional Tuesdays #55Well, it's week number 55 of this article. I can honestly say that I didn't think it would last this long. The night I started this feature, I was bored and just browsing around the Traditional Gallery. I was finding all kinds great artwork, that for one reason or another I couldn't/wouldn't give a DD. It could be because they had a DD recently, but mainly it was for a link to go back and see what they created next, and if they took it to the next level. Now it's more for artwork that I no longer have time to DD, I can't DD everything! I still find the article fun to do, and I'll keep doing it until it no longer is. So.... here is fifteen works of art that I thought you should see. I can't trust all of you all with anymore awesomeness, you might hurt yourself! Anyway, on with the show!Traditional Tuesdays #552 years ago in Art Features More Like This

DA's Insular Taste PhenomenonIt's been quite a while since I wrote a preachy "THINK ABOUT YO' ART"-type journal, and some of my newer watchers may not know that this is a particular(ly annoying) habit of mine. This is a subject I've had on my mind for quite some time for a number of reasons, and it's recently coalesced into a semi-soluble form so here we go. (As an aside- this journal does have some recycled ideas from a previous post of mine, but obviously I hadn't really said everything I wanted to on the subject.)DA's Insular Taste Phenomenon3 years ago in Personal More Like This
It's no mystery that I love this website. I came in at the tail end of the pre-critique wonder years, when the internet discovered and exploited that, yes, we don't always produce the highest quality art here. There's a lot of unpleasantness directed towards DeviantArt. At RISD, I made a point to never mention that I had an account here, because of the looks of disgust I would get haha and people would think about me differently. It was
Orcs of MaineEveryone's used to politicians badmouthing each other and highlighting flaws in their opponents to try and belittle them in front of the eyes of the public.Orcs of Maine3 years ago in Personal More Like This
In my little corner of the world, things like fraud and corruption regularly bubble to the surface, usually by way of the media. The police investigate and the offending politician is, more often than not, destroyed. Possibly literally, as they're not usually heard from again, but more likely because the parties distance themselves from the offending moron, who was stupid enough to misbehave while the public gaze was upon them.
The parties use incidents like that to discredit their rivals and question their abilities to govern.
Occasionally an irrelevant element of a politician's personal life will crop up as the focus of a jibe, but it's never seen as anything more than that. Using, say, a harmless hobby to try and smear someone in Parliament would be seen as monumentally petty.
"Petty" is not a word American politicians seem to h

Thief of the Year AwardSaw this floating about Tumblr. As far as hilarious instances of theft goes, this is the motherload. A particularly colorful individual decides to steal art on video, not only claiming other people's OC's as their own, but also putting "my crappy art" in the video description. Funny how that "crappy" art was apparently attractive enough for them to steal.Thief of the Year Award3 years ago in Personal More Like This
(Protip: if you're going to commit art theft, next time make sure you at least steal from artists who aren't widely recognized on the web and popular art web sites).

A message to Eric or a rant about muses.Hello everyone and especially you Eric. I don't know if you'll ever see this, but in all truthfulness this is as much for me as it is for you. Now onto why I'm addressing you personally here on my blog, the other day you posted on Facebook a poem, one which you deleted along with your post, so I'm not able to show it here. A momentary lapse of weakness, we all have them. It was a nice poem that spoke of a leaf blowing in the wind and you state how this illustrates how you feel and why you're having such a hard time creating anything worth mentioning. I say bullshit, because I feel like that damn leaf all the time, all blown about beat up stomped on and without purpose, meaning, or guidance. The only difference between you and I is that I refused to give up. While you decided several years ago to put down your pens and pencils to go on and give political commentary to the masses, which you were and still are quite good at.A message to Eric or a rant about muses.3 years ago in Personal More Like This

I don't get excited about very many movies. And there were only two small things that kind of disappointed me about The Avengers, but other than that, IT WAS PERFECT! I love all of the characters! My face from the start to finish of the movie was like this. :iconilavplz: :iconilavplz: :iconilavplz: :iconilavplz: :iconilavplz: :iconilavplz:
Okay, so there was one point when I took a huge sip of my drink, and almost sprayed it all over the people in front of me because the funniest part of the movie popped up very suddenly! That would've been embarrassing! I managed not to choke, but I was trying so hard not to laugh that it was a while before it was safe for me to swallow!
GO SEE IT!!! And be careful with your drinks!

Skeleton dude speedpaint
Skeletons simultaneously attract and repulse us, much like the contemplation of our one day inevitable deaths.
We would like to as much as possible shut out thoughts of our mortality, even though it is the one thing all human beings have common — the price of being alive is to know we will one day die. Skeletons are always there to remind us of this one grim universally equalizing reality, an iron

Do Artists Matter?Do we matter?Do Artists Matter?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I'm specifically talking about "us" as designers, artists, or creative people. Do artists matter?
I have two personal stories that have helped me gauge and answer that question for myself. I hope they help you too.
(SIDE NOTE: I believe in a God and I believe that God loves me and leads my path but that I have free will and can turn from his leading and do my "own thing". Both of these stories have a TON of "God flavoring" that would make them much longer, so know that they are there if you want to read between the lines and find them. In short, both stories are answers to prayer.)
After 9/11 I felt worthless. Making cartoons just wasn't important in the new post 9/11 world. Firemen, policemen, construction workers, teachers, healthcare workers, architects- really, anyone that contributes to rebuilding our world and its infrastructure, those people had important jobs to do.
