I worked on this piece for a long time before I came up with the final version. After finishing it, I had some interesting dreams. I suppose I like confronting my issues. Some of you may have read my poem Nine Inches (which has been reposted at: [link]
). This piece here might be described as a kind of visual follow-up. I'm not saying you should read the poem, I only mention it for the benefit of those who might be curious as to my thinking behind this. And the image is meant to stand on its own in any case. (Although if anyone wants me to elaborate, let me know and I'll try.)
The image itself is made from two photographs I took: a harvested corn field in western Michigan and an old TV set in my basement. The photo of the field was adjusted for contrast and levels, warped and 'TV lines' added, and then fit into the frame of the TV set image. The TV set was then edited and the title was added.
I hope you'll full view it, though I'm sorry about the file size (I sized the web version down as far as I dared without loosing any more detail). Thanks for looking.
