I felt emotionally impressed by the new image of Lara, she looks like a real person. She feels weak and at the same time has enough strenght to survive and overcome all severe challenges. That's exactly what i was trying to depict. I Had a great experience and a lot of fun while doing this.
Please leave a comment to support me up, and good luck to everyone. Thank you so much
--- Oh my god, thank you very much, I never thought I would made it. ;_; I'm happy that some of my favorites made it under the top 25. If you want to see my personal winners, you can check out my latest journal. Congratulation to all who got selected. ----
This is my entry for the Tomb Raider Reborn Contest I worked really long on it and I hope everything looks fine, since absolutely no references/stockphotos were allowed for lara beside the asset pack. ^^' For this artwork no textures, just brushes were used to create it.
Rain Brush from Spriritsighs-stock [link] (awesome sets of brushes, go check them out!) ^__^ Brushes from Natascha Röösli (kyena) which she shared long ago (I love them so much ;__; ) and some various free brushes.
I'm very excited for the game as most participants so I was very happy when they announced this contest ^^ I really love this "selfmade" bow of Lara (which you can see in the trailers) so it was a must to draw it Hehe, I wonder if such a selfmade bow really works that well, but it seems Lara is a true pro with it ;D
I've been a huge fan of the Tomb Raider games, The new game has really made me look at Tomb Raider in a different way seeing Lara transform into a strong fighter was what inspired me to create this piece. I wanted Lara to look the best I could by giving her a simple strong pose gave me a chance to focus on the color and details within the piece.
I used Corel Painter 12 - Oil Brushes and Glow Fx brush for fire details, I also used Corel Photoshop Pro X5
I honestly had a few problems with this one. First I had one idea. Didn't liked it, scraped it. Then I had another, slightly better idea, but it still wasn't doing it for me so I tossed that one in the garbage too. Then I finally had the idea for this one. And I all I have to say about it is...
Entry for the Riddick: Rule the Dark Contest. To me, one of my favorite aspects of Riddick is the way he rides the edge between good and bad, the dark and the light, so I wanted to capture that idea in my design.
