The Shadow of Fire: Chapter 1The ProphecyThe Shadow of Fire: Chapter 14 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Medieval era Romania circa 1400s, a dozen knights, wearing full body plate armor adorned with silver crosses on their shoulders and flowing red capes on their backs that had an image of a dragon skewered by a sword on them, made their way through the murky swamp around them. Each of the knights carried a lance that shone brilliant silver each time what little light breached the heavy vegetation touched them. All the knights were riding atop various colored war horses and were heading towards a large cave opening that lay in front of them in this dismal swamp. The perfect habitat for the particular prey these knights were hunting that day. The lead knight brought up his right hand and signaled for the group to stop, which they did in a line several dozen feet away from the large cave opening. He reached with his right hand to his helms visor and lifted it up revealing a man of around 25 years of age with brown eyes and light brown hair.
This lead knight took a deep b

ReconciliationThe light-blue dragon looked down from its perch in the tree, eyeing the young man knocking at the front door of the house. The door creaked open, revealing a middle-aged man with short-cut, salt and pepper hair.Reconciliation4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
From his perch the dragon listened intently, with a feint sense of familiarity coming from the boy. It had seen him before, but from where and when?
"Excuse me, might there be a Shaun living here...?" he asked timidly.
The man looked surprised for a second before an expression of pain flashed across his aging face. "No, I'm sorry, there's no Shaun living here..." he said, shutting the door.
The young man walked away wordlessly, going back down the street from which he came. The dragon was overcome with curiousity as he wanted to know who this familiar young boy was and, with a large flap of its wings, took off from its perch.
The aging man was seen staring out the window, watching as the blue dragon flew off in the same direction as the young man that had knocked on his doors
The Dragon Festival Part 7I wake up slowly to the sound of knocking on the door of the apartment. I lift my head off the pillows I was sleeping on and quickly slither over to the door. I open it to a woman with cleaning supplies, and I know she's here to clean the room. I tell her to give me a moment and pull myself back into my room. I push through the pool of red scales and find the rice box, still open. I shut the lid and put it into my mouth under my tongue. During my little nap, I have lost almost all the fat I gained from the rice earlier, and I can easily maneuver about the room. I still take up about half of my bedroom, but at least I can fly without difficulties I uncoil myself and begin to leave the room, taking about a minute with my 200-foot long body. When I finally get all of myself out of the room, the cleaning lady puts a sign on the door saying not to disturb the person inside, and shuts theThe Dragon Festival Part 74 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

Creating Fate -Chapter 1-This is the story of what surprises lie in wait for their chance to change someone's life forever. Even the tiniest change in a plan, idea, or problem can give life an unusual turn of events. It's funny. Y'know, how some people don't appreciate what they have and what life has to give. They act as if life isn't worth living, and should be wasted doing nonsense that would, otherwise, get them killed.Creating Fate -Chapter 1-5 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Hey, I'm LaDelya, but my friends call me Delya or Shady for short. I'm just your everyday, 5'6'', dragon-loving artist, and this is the story of the turn my life decided to take while I was on a nature hike with friends. It may sound unbelievable, but the truest things in life just seem that way. But, before you turn your attention away with my "rant", let me start the story.
"How much longer is it going to be before we get there?" asked my friend Sarah, a tall, thin girl with light brown eyes and brown hair. She wasn't much of an artist like me, but she did have a talent for writing and be

"Real as we'll ever get dude," Freno said slightly proud.
Before I go any further, let me back up.
My name is Jake. I live in a small town in California called Moorpark just north of Los Angeles. I'm your average third grader with light brown hair and stunning neon blue eyes. Anyone who knows me can tell I am a dragon fanatic. I read and read about dragons and at one point, was inclined to learn to speak draconic. That didn't actually turn out very well, but that's another story.
Kate and Freno are my two best friends. We met each other in kindergarten and stayed together since. We did everything together, we even liked the same thing as each other. Top of that list was dragons, for all of us. We were completely inseparable. But, things were about to change.
About an hour ago, our parents decided to hike through the forest that our backyard and we soon found a small meadow to rest at. My parents were setting up the traditional

I looked around the house. Boxes stacked high above my head and the babies played in the floor. N had bought me my dream house. The outside was a unique light green like you see on old cars. I loved it. It had high ceilings and five bedrooms. One for me and N and two for the babies when they get older.
I looked down at the twins. The emerald haired Naomi was playing with a small stuffed doll. We had bought it for her first birthday and they have been inseparable ever since. I glanced to the squealing chocolate haired Nicholas who was crawling to his pile of Tonka trucks.
The past year was nearly a blur; it seemed like only yesterday I had birthed the two. I looked at the yellow walls around the room. This was going to be the room where we put the baby beds. I sat down the box of Naomi's toys I was holding.
"Nick, don't do that," I sighed as I saw the boy begin to gna
Draconic Changes Late in the afternoon I slowly woke up from a nap in my yard. I was tired after a hard morning of yard work and felt a little sore. Slowly, I opened my eyes and groaned as my head was pounding. Figuring it was from the hard work, I slowly stood up only to lose my balance and landed hard on my stomach. Letting out a heavy sigh at my own clumsiness, I slowly looked at my foot thinking I over worked it early. To my surprise, it had changed; my foot looked like a scaly red paw. Shocked by this I looked myself over rapidly to find I had two large wings, a tail and what looked like a bladed spin at the tip of the tail. Somehow I had changed into a quadruped dragon.Draconic Changes2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

I sighed at the green haired man that had brought me breakfast in bed once again. Ever since we had gotten back from our honeymoon in the Caribbean two months ago, N had insisted he do everything for me. This was partly because I was carrying our twin babies. I was eight months pregnant now and gosh was I huge.
N smiled at me in his boxers as I looked at him over my stomach. He would only let me get out of bed to pee and shower. He'd been trying to get me to start taking baths in the tub because he was afraid I'd slip and fall while standing in our shower. I'd told him that was one thing I'd never do. It was like you were swimming in your own dirt. How could that possibly make you clean?
N handed me a tray that held a bowl of cereal. This was the extent of his "cooking" skills. He could make toast and cereal. That is about it. He took a sip of his beloved orange juic

"Never stopped wearing it actually, except for when I go to bed," I knew that if I wore the 'claw' to bed it would end up piercing skin. Also, I never did figure out what it is exactly, that is around my neck, but I always wear it anyway. "So, what you guys been up to lately?" I asked noticing their parents behind them.
"Are you gonna let us in first Jake," Kate decided to speak up for the first time.
I just smiled and stepped out the way. "Are you all here on vacation or what? This is kind of unexpected," I asked as they all walked inside. "Hello Mr. and Mrs. Haynor, hello Mr. and Mrs. Amanar," I surprised myself when I remembered their last names.
The adults all replied with the normal greeting. Then Mr. Amanar, Freno's dad, asked, "Where's your p

A young boy wanders through an unexplored forest. He's about eight years old, with brown hair, blue eyes, and slightly ripped clothes. He stumbled through the forest limping on his right leg. His body was torn to shreds; many injuries were clearly visible across his entire body. He kept pushing himself to his limits, wandering deeper and deeper into the dark forest which enveloped the night, until finally he came across a creature lying down in the ground, surrounded by trees. The boy limped forward to take a closer look at the creature but as he stood over body of the creature he saw the true horror that lay before him. The creature was a dragon hatchling, dead; its green scales glowed crimson in the moonlight from its wounds. Arrows protruded out of its body from spine to tail. The boy's eyes became blurry, his conscious mind fading from reality. The boy fell unconscious where he stood and fell onto the grass next to the dead hatchling, his hand falling on top of its

All was quiet in the mountains. Not even the sound of the wind could be heard, but only a few minutes earlier a loud crash could be hear echoing for miles. A plane carrying three adults and a small boy had malfunctioned and came tumbling out of the sky, crashing on the sloops of one of the towering peaks. The plane laid smoking and mangled in the snow. A man carrying the small boy in his arms limped out of the plane. He only got 30 feet from the plane before falling to the ground. He had two large gashes on his legs and a piece of metal sticking out of his chest. The boy had passed out during the free fall and was now lying next to the man. He only had a cut on his forehead and a few bruises but was otherwise fine. When he awoke he was cold so very cold he realized the h
Draconic Tales - Chapter 2"So, what happened?" Freno asked after me and Kate snuck upstairs. He was playing Modern Warfare 3 on my Xbox 360 on the map, Dome. We decided to let him finish the current game before we shared. He turned a corner in the old, battered office building and shot a guy in the head with his sniper. I will never be talented enough to be able to use a sniper rifle at close range. As it turns out, that was the last kill of the team deathmatch game and the scene was replayed from a different angle. George and the DragonOnce there was a lad by name of George who was eternally curious, and who had never figured out what fear was. One day, as he was climbing around in the mountains behind his house, he discovered a huge nest. It was large enough that his entire house could have fit inside with plenty of room around it, and littered with shell fragments, light green with darker speckles. In the center of the nest, George saw a large intact egg with the same coloration. He put one ear against the side and heard the faintest of movements. Then, as he watched in amazement, a long crack split the side of the egg. Before long, the shell was in pieces, and a strange creature was sitting in the middle. It was roughly the size of a large cat, but instead of fur, it was covered with dark green scales. It had two wings tightly furled against its sides, which it soon spread and flapped experimentally. It looked around and quickly spotted George. It shuffled towards him, mewling piteously. George cautiously extendedGeorge and the Dragon2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
