April 23, 1916 Easter Sunday
My family found it interesting that this year my twentieth birthday coincided with the rising of our Lord. I didnt really think much of it. Perhaps I should have been somewhat proud of the similarity, but it wasnt exactly the most pressing issue on my mind. Father got me a present this year, just like he said he would. He spent nearly all of his money to buy me a Winchester 1897 12-gauge shotgun that was smuggled into the country.
It was hard to come by ever since those damned Brits put up the imported weapons ban. But Father didnt want me to be stuck with some German piece of junk like everyone else. He insisted on getting me something that was American-made. You know how hes obsessed with the Yanks. If he could, hed pack up everything we had and go right to America. Hell, he already considers himself one with that

I'm frailer than you.
Strong as the strongest.
I'm stronger than you.
I'm strong because He is strong.
I'm strong because I love Him.
I'm strong because I fear His wrath.
You are weak,
Weaker than me.
You are weak because you do not know Him.
You are lost and cannot be found.
He finds you.
He knows you.
You are found because He loves you.
We are strong because He knows us.
He is kind,
Kinder than me.
He is strong,
Stronger than me.
He knows all.
He saves all who save themselves.
Salvation! Salvation! Salvation!
All hail to Him who saved the weak!
What is Democratic Socialism? What is Democratic Socialism?2 years ago in Articles & Interviews More Like This
Democratic socialists believe that both the economy and society should be run democraticallyto meet public needs, not to make profits for a few. To achieve a more just society, many structures of our government and economy must be radically transformed through greater economic and social democracy so that ordinary Americans can participate in the many decisions that affect our lives. Democracy and socialism go hand in hand. All over the world, wherever the idea of democracy has taken root, the vision of socialism has taken root as welleverywhere but in the United States. Because of this, many false ideas about socialism have developed in the US. With this pamphlet, we hope to answer some of your questions about socialism.
Doesn't socialism mean that the government will own and run everything?
Democratic socialists do not want to create an all-powerful government bureaucracy. But we do not want big corporate bureaucracies to control
ZahneIt was once that Monsters lived everywhere that people couldn't see them. Goblins lived in the forest, sea monsters lived in dark water and dopplegängers lived in the shadows. While people were careful to keep a candle burring during the night, during the day, when it was sunny and bright, they had no fear of the dark.Zahne3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
In this Germany, by the chalk cliffs, there lived a little boy who was clever, but naive. The boy, Henrik, lived with his "uncle" and his wife in a yellow house by the forest. They loved him very much, so they forbade him from going into the forest. Despite the warning, the boy often wandered in the forest, searching for pinecones and flowers, and other little treasures.
One day, on such an expedition, he followed a rabbit deeper and deeper into the forest until he was quite lost. Soon, he found himself in the middle of a clearing in the beech forest, and the rabbit was nowhere to be seen. When he looked up he saw an older boy with black hair, sunning himself

"Sirius, you can't do that! You're going to get us both arrested!"
"Oh c'mon Remus…I've almost got it…wait, arrested?"
"You know what I mean." Sirius gulped. Remus continued, "It's too dangerous – McGonagall will be sure to know who was responsible. And she already has it in for you today…"
"You mean after what occurred in class today, I suppose?" Remus nodded, brown hair falling over worried eyes. "Oh, it wasn't that big of a deal…"
"Are you kidding me?"
"What?" Sirius appeared nonchalant…Remus was not amused.
"What? WHAT! You charmed the chalk to write Marauder-esque obscenities all over the blackboard, transfigured her hat into a balaclava, and turned Snape's

Claude the Dead ButlerI watched as Sebastian Michaelis bought a pillow for Ciel Phantomhive. He looked rather pleased. He murdered me and went on living his perfect eternal life. I was supposed to live an eternal life too but, that one sword that could kill us. I could still haunt him but that won't have much effect. The sun was setting as orange and hot pink dashed across the sky. The high green hills sat as darkness rolled over them. The sun casted its final lights before it retired until dawn. People rushed into their little homes. Little yellow birds sprinted through the air into their nests of sticks. I could see a piece of my ripped clothing stuck into one of the nests.
Darkness was here as the streets became empty. Alois Trancy's spirit hovered. He was standing alone in the dark. "Would anyone come and play with me? Please?" He had a sense of loneliness in his eyes.
I dove over and stood in front of him. "I will play with you. That's all I can do whi

worse, it's not your fault.
I tried to
move on. Met you last December and I can't let go. My summer my summer was
you. In the beach, looking at the sea, I imagined you with me.
that cold night I wished you were holding me, comforting me, loving me!
now, this instant, when I close my eyes; it's you I see.
I'll try not to cry, wish I won't shade a tear But you're so far away, and I
love you, my dear.
This is my

So, for the
last time, I close my eyes, and hear you playing the violin while I hide this

This is worse than being someone so unpopular at school, even the teachers make fun of me. This is worse than the time my friend told me that he'd date me if I wasn't me. This is worse than the times I got a body part slammed in my locker door, got called names by students where the teachers were in earshot and did nothing, and the time that I got felt up in gym class by some students.
What did I ever do to you, workforce? I know it's the recession, but if I have to see another "we don't discriminate" disclaimer accompanied by a job that you can't have without a driver's license, I'm going to scream. If I have to watch people stare at me like I'm some freak for a visible deformity that doesn't affect my work output one more time, I might just start screaming and give them a real legitimate reason not to hire me.
I have nothing. I have no support system. I have no friends I can visit face to face. I have no means of transportation beyond my own feet, or bumming a ride off
My Favorite PlaceMy favorite place is a sanctuary, a spot that seems to belong to me and me alone. It holds a special place in my heart, and I long to go there again so I can just take in the peacefulness and silence of it, so different from my everyday life. Old pine and oak trees tower around my special place majestically, and jungle-like palm plants sprout with a fresh new green out of the ground, among mossy patches and moist, dark soil. Old petrified logs lie haphazardly in disarray here and there, and a quiet river runs by, bubbling and laughing as it goes splashing across the rocks and pebbles. A fallen tree makes an excellent bridge to my spot, secluding my special place even further from the outside world, as most would not trust the nature-made bridge. A small, open patch of grass, seeming very out of place amid the dense foliage, makes a wonderful thinking spot, as the sun shines through the leaves of the trees and into my favorite place like a spotlight of some sort. I swear that it's true,
I just need a quick nap
And then homework I'll do.

the one that keeps a straight face
and a clear mind with your head
on her shoulder, and your tears
on her shirt.
Your weight resting in my arms
has made me learn how to rock
from heel to toe, swaying us
just a little bit,
and how to bring my hand
up to your back and keep time
with how your breathing shakes you.
I'm always spilling my sorries,
sorry that you're hurt,
sorry that you're crying,
and you tell me it's okay,
shaky-voiced but worrying about me,
and I tighten my arms around you
for just a second,
it's not okay if you're not okay,
and you smile for just a second.
As your lips split
to show the teeth below,
and your eyes gleam in something
other than salt-water,
I know that I've finally learned
something that might
be of some sort of worth to me.

Once upon a time there was a large and bountiful kingdom. The king was a handsome and fair, and the queen was a beautiful and loving. Together they ruled the kingdom with ability envied by other kingdoms worldwide. They were loved by all of their people, so naturally when their queen became pregnant there was a large celebration. People from miles away came, including the queen's elder sister.
The queen's elder sister had been banned from the kingdom long ago when the queen married the king. After killing innocent men she was sent out to live in the middle of the forest. The travel from her home to the kingdom took many days, so the king and queen were shocked when she appeared right on the day of birth for their child.
She came up to her sister and brother-in-law, as beautiful as she was the day she left, and saw the baby boy. His eyes were a bright green, a color even the forest would envy, and his hair was as golden as the sun. She stared at the baby boy and reached out to

Remember when that one rainy day that I stopped you on the sidewalk and asked if you had slept with C---? Remember how you stopped walking and looked me straight in the eyes and told me that you hadn't? Well, I didn't tell you then, because I was too disgusted and disappointed in you to tell you this, but I knew all along that you had slept with her. I asked because I wanted to give you the chance to prove that you actually are a person that can be trusted. You bombed that test. I can't believe that you had the gall to call me one of your best friends. If I really was one of your best friends, don't you think I would have deserved the truth? I trusted you, even after the first time you cheated on me. You asked for forgiveness and I gave it to you. You asked for trust and I gave you that as well. Why didn't you trust me with the truth?
