I got super sick after Boston Comic Con and then it was a mad dash to finish costumes for Dragoncon... now I have a few days to recover before I head off to Germany for Connichi and to visit my parents.
Here are some things of note that you should check out:
If you have been watching Heroes of Cosplay, read this review about the series: Comics Alliance watched the show carefully and thoughtfully and care a lot about the Cosplay community. See what they had to say: http://comicsalliance.com/heroes-cosplay-syfy-review-commentary-video-criticism/
I wrote a general post about cosplay that will hopefully help some peeps who have been struggling with things:

Cosplay photo blog for ToyCon 2013!ToyCon 2013!Cosplay photo blog for ToyCon 2013!1 year ago in Personal More Like This
So we went to Toycon last Saturday and as usual I... didn't really get to take pictures of toys and stuff. It was so crowded around the merchandise hall that I couldn't stop and take photos because people were constantly threading through and shoving. It was like a river of people with an actual current, hahah! Sometimes I'd find a friend to chat with but we'd eventually be pulled apart by the tide, it was kind of funny.
I wanted to wear something simple and comfortable so I posted on my Facebook that I would wear my old Ichigo cosplay in his Karakura High uniform. The Bleach manga is so crazy now that it just made me miss the days when Bleach was simple.
I think this is the last decent picture of myself that I have wearing this, and it was taken ages ago.
And here it is on me again, with a new wig, better contact lenses, better wig styling and cosplay makeup skills (somewhat), and Kon plush that was give
Mesti Datang! The HobbyCon 2013 Experience!Earlier this year, my friends and I were invited to be overseas guests for HobbyCon in Sabah, Malaysia.Mesti Datang! The HobbyCon 2013 Experience!9 months ago in Personal More Like This
Time flew by very fast, and before we knew it...
Our first day was spent doing a lot of eating, thanks to our guide Alyssa I will justify it as us fueling up for an action-packed weekend! We tried nasi lemak for the first time (LOVED IT), had some shaved ice desserts after, then a big dinner of clay pot rice, stir-fry noodles with clams, really tasty chicken wings, etc. and THEN we still raided Pick N' Pay for our midnight snacks because we love convenience stores and we wanted to try things we don't have in Manila.
We planned our cosplays ahead with Team Kachang Puteh, the guests from Singapore. Our theme for the first day of HobbyCon was Shingeki no Kyojin!

What is the History of Body Art?
:iconjzino: Long before recorded history, Man desired to express himself. The same pigments collected for cave painting would become the earliest body paints. Charcoal, Ochre, and Malachite were pulverized and kept in hollow seashells for the sake of art...
As we've learned in our previous articles, people view the definition of their art in different ways. Body Art varies slightly, but over all most of the definitions have been along similar lines. Here are some of my favorite responses:
How would you define Body Art?
:iconjzino: Body Art is uniquely human, it is the most primitive f

Page 74-78 feature my photos and an interview
I'm a little disappointed though...because they told me it was going to be a 6 page spread and asked me for 10 photos that were all to be featured...but they only fit half the photos in and didn't ask me which I'd prefer, Some great photographers who's hard work I wanted to show off didn't get any recognition
Not to mention they shortened all of my answers for the interview...
It still feels nice getting some recognition for MY hard work as a model. And I'm very grateful that I'm featured in the magazine. =] Not to mention. My BIGGEST model inspiration is the cover model for this magazine and she acknowledged me and everything. I fangirled hard. lol.
I got into a car accident two nights ago. No I wasn't driving. I was in the passenger's seat and go the car rammed into my arm.
I'm okay, I just have some bruising and a sore arm, but I'm absolutely traumatized by this.
Non-Toxic is Not MakeupThus begins a diatribe on safety and education in the world of makeup and special effects. Many products, including many non-toxic products, are not necessarily safe for use on the body. Many products that can be safely used on small areas of the body are not necessarily safe for full-body use. This article will begin and lead into a series designed to help inform and educate makeup artists, bodypainters, photographers, and models. The goal is to help artists make informed choices and avoid making unsafe assumptions in choosing what products are safe to apply to a models body!Non-Toxic is Not Makeup6 years ago in Art Features More Like This
In an internet-educated, figure-it-out-for-yourself, whatever-goes world of contemporary makeup and special effects, it is easier than ever to find bad, misleading or downright dangerous information spewed out right alongside accurate, well-founded information. Internet is the operative word here, because an eager audience

'Die Cis Scum', and my views on itSo, a while back, this one transgirl posted a pic of herself with Die Cis Scum tattooed on her arm. It was on either Tumblr or some fetish site-don't remember which. I know that the picture eventually got onto a fetish site, and was taken down as 'hate speech'-even though 660 people listed 'shemale' as a fetish and got absolutely no shit at all-but I don't think it was there first.'Die Cis Scum', and my views on it3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Also, around the same time, the same transgirl (well, I'm assuming transgirl...the pictures could've been of a rather masculine-faced and feminine-haired transguy, but I doubt it) wrote this article on Tranarchism: http://tranarchism.com/2011/11/21/guest-post-die-cis-scum/
(Note: it wasn't written by the transguy whose name it was published under.)
As usual whenever anything happens involving trans people, Tumblr went wild, whether supporting it or telling trans people to not do it because they didn't like it when people did it to them.
Here's my views on the whole thing.
I wholeheartedly, 100% support it

'Life Drawing 5' by algaegoblin
Do you know how to sketch human figures but do you want to refine your anatomy skills? Or do you not know anatomy at all and you are tired to trust your imagination? Did you notice you create disproportions in your drawings?
If you are aspiring artists and you already have your own style, you might as well believe you have no need of a guide, but you are wrong. Before exaggerating human proportions and begin to have your own style, you first have to know the basics.
This little guide is the result of an accurate research and 5 years of high school of art, and it's created for all those who want to learn something new or just make a useful review.
For those who have already studied art, my suggestion is to go to step 6 or trying to repeat all steps in Digital format.
First of all, if you want to learn faster you should draw using traditi

Post HobbyCon 2012Just came back from Kota Kinabalu today. I was there over the weekend for HobbyCon, was invited there together with Kitska to help judge for their cosplay competitions. (So for those of you who were at EOY and L2P and wondering where I was, there you have your answer.)Post HobbyCon 20122 years ago in Personal More Like This
The event was rather small, compared to what we are used to over here in Singapore, but it was fun and passionate all the same. Julian and his team put in an impressive amount of effort to pull this event together year after year, and I really have to salute them for the work and dedication that they show. Granted, neither Kitska and I were proposed to this time, and nobody were sending us off at the airport with teary eyes (that's a story for another day), but the event was fun all the same, (Got flowers though, from a couple of guys, and little swoons and sighs from the girls. ^_^)
We were hoping for more entries for the competition though, but nevertheless, the standard was reasonably high. Kits and I did ha

Halloween - Skin! Choosing your skin colourHalloween - Skin!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Green, blue, grey? Choosing what materials to use is as important as choosing the colour! Do you want your skin to be a bold colour, or to sheen?
Left: Eye Shadow Materials. Right: Face Paint Materials
I've picked out two material choices that most people have access to/can buy easily face paint and eye shadow. If you want to really push your look you could look at paints from Mehron who are rather good for face colours. I'd suggest doing things like this in even lighting perhaps try the bathroom.
Using eye shadow can give your face a much more translucent look; especially if you use a sheer palette (I didn't have any matte shadows shockingly!)
To make the eye shadow stay on my face I have applied a liquid foundation base. Try not to apply it too thickly or you'll get creases and all sorts of nightmares.
I start off with a lighter blue (which is a bit grey) its best to st
More New Cosplays!:iconcherry-blossom-bliss: and I have been having a hard time picking out cosplays for Otakuthon. We have decided that this shall be our Saturday cosplay.
I'm pretty excited about it. I've already ordered my wig and we are planning how we are going to make the sword. Found some great photos on DA of how others made theirs, so it's been a great help. Though we don't plan to touch
