Cosplay photo blog for ToyCon 2013!ToyCon 2013!Cosplay photo blog for ToyCon 2013!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
So we went to Toycon last Saturday and as usual I... didn't really get to take pictures of toys and stuff. It was so crowded around the merchandise hall that I couldn't stop and take photos because people were constantly threading through and shoving. It was like a river of people with an actual current, hahah! Sometimes I'd find a friend to chat with but we'd eventually be pulled apart by the tide, it was kind of funny.
I wanted to wear something simple and comfortable so I posted on my Facebook that I would wear my old Ichigo cosplay in his Karakura High uniform. The Bleach manga is so crazy now that it just made me miss the days when Bleach was simple.
I think this is the last decent picture of myself that I have wearing this, and it was taken ages ago.
And here it is on me again, with a new wig, better contact lenses, better wig styling and cosplay makeup skills (somewhat), and Kon plush that was give
Non-Toxic is Not MakeupThus begins a diatribe on safety and education in the world of makeup and special effects. Many products, including many non-toxic products, are not necessarily safe for use on the body. Many products that can be safely used on small areas of the body are not necessarily safe for full-body use. This article will begin and lead into a series designed to help inform and educate makeup artists, bodypainters, photographers, and models. The goal is to help artists make informed choices and avoid making unsafe assumptions in choosing what products are safe to apply to a models body!Non-Toxic is Not Makeup7 years ago in Art Features More Like This
In an internet-educated, figure-it-out-for-yourself, whatever-goes world of contemporary makeup and special effects, it is easier than ever to find bad, misleading or downright dangerous information spewed out right alongside accurate, well-founded information. Internet is the operative word here, because an eager audience

I got super sick after Boston Comic Con and then it was a mad dash to finish costumes for Dragoncon... now I have a few days to recover before I head off to Germany for Connichi and to visit my parents.
Here are some things of note that you should check out:
If you have been watching Heroes of Cosplay, read this review about the series: Comics Alliance watched the show carefully and thoughtfully and care a lot about the Cosplay community. See what they had to say: http://comicsalliance.com/heroes-cosplay-syfy-review-commentary-video-criticism/
I wrote a general post about cosplay that will hopefully help some peeps who have been struggling with things:
I also made a funny video with my friend Jessica about cosplay:

Halloween - Skin! Choosing your skin colourHalloween - Skin!4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Green, blue, grey? Choosing what materials to use is as important as choosing the colour! Do you want your skin to be a bold colour, or to sheen?
Left: Eye Shadow Materials. Right: Face Paint Materials
I've picked out two material choices that most people have access to/can buy easily face paint and eye shadow. If you want to really push your look you could look at paints from Mehron who are rather good for face colours. I'd suggest doing things like this in even lighting perhaps try the bathroom.
Using eye shadow can give your face a much more translucent look; especially if you use a sheer palette (I didn't have any matte shadows shockingly!)
To make the eye shadow stay on my face I have applied a liquid foundation base. Try not to apply it too thickly or you'll get creases and all sorts of nightmares.
I start off with a lighter blue (which is a bit grey) its best to st

I'll start with Aminael and her brother Roland:
Aminael is the second child of Misteria and Taho. She grew up in a gentle atmosphere, very much like a fragile flower. Her father treated her like a princess, but all his hope was placed on his son, Roland. When Aminael noticed that her parents spent more time with him, she decided to become smarter and more powerful than her brother.
Anyway, Roland didn't like to play with his younger sister - she was useless and annoying whenever he played with his friends. He didn't notice her until she grew up... into a beautiful girl.
Aminael always tried to dress in clothing which was gray and unremarkable but acqui

Did you really think I was going to stop at just one review of this show? Actually, I did not at the time of my Friendship review have any immediate plans for more reviews of this show, but I was thinking that I might do one for a filler atrocity. I also knew that should I hear about the show doing something heinous again I would cover it, but I didn’t think they would, unless they made ANOTHER episode making fun of bronies. Yes, this show really did something else bad enough that I absolutely must review it. It’s one thing to be a bad show, or a bad writer. It’s another thing ENTIRELY to shield yourself from criticism. This episode is the show showing that it’s aware that it killed off action cartoons on Cartoon Network entirely-and is fucking proud of itself for doing so! Yes, it’s that bad. What also pisses me off is that I recently found out that this is the highest rate
More New Cosplays!:iconcherry-blossom-bliss: and I have been having a hard time picking out cosplays for Otakuthon. We've been throwing around ideas for a long time, but we have not been able to decide on any official plans as of yet, which is unusual for us. But we have been having so many issues picking out cosplays for Otakuthon.
But we confirmed one cosplay tonight!
:iconcherry-blossom-bliss: is cosplaying as Serah Farron from FFXIII-2 for Anime North this year and would like to bring Serah to Otakuthon (especially with all the effort she is going to be putting into making the cosplay and the bow) so I have decided to cosplay as Noel Kreiss for Otakuthon.
We have decided that this shall be our Saturday cosplay.
I'm pretty excited about it. I've already ordered my wig and we are planning how we are going to make the sword. Found some great photos on DA of how others made theirs, so it's been a great help. Though we don't plan to touch

Tips For Commission ArtistsHello! I thought of making this small guide, based from my personal experience, to give tips to artists, mostly beginners, to be more successful at selling commissions, since seeing from my previous journal many had difficulty with it. So here are some tips to help boosting your sales.Tips For Commission Artists1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Have your commission info somewhere visible
Possibly, people won't even know you are taking commissions or if they are open if you don't put your commission info somewhere they can see. You can do this in a journal, that I mostly recommend, since it will be showing into your watcher's inboxes and most of your watchers probably rarely visit your profile page. You could still also use the commission widget, or donation poll to write your info. You can also link to your commission info in your signature or the artist's comment of new drawings you upload.
Keep it simple
Don't add too many unnecessary rules or in

COSMANIA IS OVER! WHEEE~ I had too much fun at the event. Love the spirit they have for cosplay there and wishing that we will , one day, have a similar culture back here in Singapore. Q.Q Alright, so all the way from the beginning.
So, one fine day, :iconjesuke: hubby came and asked me if I would like to go to Philippines with her for a cosplay event, and it took me really long to decide whether to go because it would clash with school, but I went in the end (even though I had to miss class in the end too ). :iconviospace: and :iconbiomonkz: came with us on the trip too and made it REALLY crazy.
And as if the 4 of us ain't crazy enough, our hosts from Philippines, Zen, Jewel, Charmie and the whole gang of people, are such a crazy and hyper gang of people. *_______________* You can imagine the days literally filled with BL, laughter and sugar. Well, BL came from :iconviospace: but let's just leave it as it is.

The Serenely Powerful Art of `yuumei
In the top half of an hourglass, a polar bear and her cub perch perilously atop a wedge of melting ice, its dripping water becoming the "sand" that is inexorably drowning an urban couch potato figure in the hourglass's bottom chamber. The beautiful yet arresting digital painting is "Countdown" by yuumei and it is currently one of the most popular pieces on deviantART. It is "archetypal yuumei" in its perfectly balanced blending of a striking lyrically beautiful visual with an underlying urgent social or political message.
Her specialty is digital art in an anime style, but she often employs traditional watercolors and other elements. Her cause is saving and preserving what's left of the Earth's wildlife and its environment; she donates large portions of profits from her artworks to a host of wildlife and environmental organizations and urges all deviants and others to do the same. But what has really been her stand-out achievem

Back in the 2Ks, there was a little show on Cartoon Network that was seemingly made to cash-in on the success of the anime craze at the time. This show took five out of eight superheroes from a comic series lots of people loved, especially in the 80's, and made a TV show that is now widely regarded as among the best shows produced by DC and Warner Bros. Entertainment. That show is Teen Titans, and what a show it was.
The show had it all. Teen Titans had plot, it had character depth and development, it had a good soundtrack, it had marvelous voice acting, and while the anime style may have made some people miss out on the series, many others flocked to the TV screen, hungry for more of the proverbial eye candy. But after episode 65, "Things Change", which is, for all intents and purposes, a disservice in and of itself (I'll delve into that some other
