Happy Canada Day!
This photo is actually from February, but I'm a slacker. I've also got some photos of me skating to upload.

I know Tora's not Canadian, but...well, I am, and so here we are. I have another photo as Vindicator just chilling with Quatchi, but that'll wait.

So anyways, it's the Ice costume we've all seen a billion times, made by me. The snowball was not made by me.

This costume is for sale! Check out my storenvy listing!

I love Donna Troy and I have made it my unofficial goal to make all of her costumes. I will never get tired of being Donna and I will never get sick of playing with the lasso on this costume.

Costume Construction:
The red bodysuit is made from a custom pattern drafted by me. I used four way red milliskin for the suit and foldover elastic around the neckline. The stars are made from a metallic heat transfer product (Fashion-FILM Metallic II). My belt is made from a gold upholstery fabric. My bracers are made using craft foam and metallic silver scrap booking paper.

I've got a couple shots like this, but I think this one is my favourite.

From back in January when *Stargazer-Gemini and I did a shoot in the backyard. Many thanks to him for the photos.

Snow!

Black Lantern Ice completely made by me. BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS.
Love this costume...stupid too much makeup. (Which we're actually now out of. ^^; )

The High Park photoshoot was approaching, and I didn't know what to wear. Instead of doing the logical thing and rewearing any of my costumes, I decided to make use of the black bodysuit I'd mostly finished, and pull the rest of this together.

Overall...I'm pleased. I want to add a collar to the suit, and remake most of the cape. (And make my bracers comfortable.) The insetting I am suuuuuuper happy with.

But yes. Speedy! It's Green Arrow's female sidekick! (After she returns from England and decides not to be red anymore.)

Costume completely made by me. The bow is borrowed from *Stargazer-Gemini. It is a real bow.

Long overdue! LULZ TITLE

So once again Heroes in Tights contacted us about wearing some of their costumes, though this time for Wizard World Toronto 2011. I was happy to do it, especially since I'd wanted to do a Psylocke costume, but didn't care particularly if I made it or not.

So! Psylocke it was. I was also accompanied by the lovely *gillykins as Dark Phoenix and ~darkelf205 as Black Widow. You should check out their pages!

And before it comes up, yes, I know Psylocke does not wear heels. But a) the Kotobukiya statue has heels, and b) Psylocke also is a comic book character with perfect proportions. I am not.

The Beastie Boys song Hey Ladies is stuck in my head, thanks to it playing repetitively on my Ipod while driving today. So, "Hey Ladies, Get Funky"!

I was asked promo model for Heroes-In-Tights again this year, which I happy accepted. I was very excited when I was told I would be wearing Dark Phoenix. The lovely ladies accompanying me are *UtaArashi as Psylocke and ~darkelf205 as Black Widow.

This costume has been on my 'to do' list for over 6 years. I've always loved this version of Psylocke's costume, I lovingly refer to it as the gypsy butterfly. For those who don't know this is Betsy's original costume from when she first takes the name Psylocke and joins the X-men in the 80's.

Costume Construction:

The bodysuit is made from a custom pattern drafted by me. The costume is made from a pink four way stretch spandex and lined with a white spandex. The cut out sections on the waist are inset with a skin tone mesh. The sleeves and leg detail are made from a dark pink chiffon. The cuffs and rectangle appliqués are made from a dark pink suede. The appliqués are satin stitched in place. The wig is cut and styles by me.

I finally got my Donna Troy costume out for some photos!

Costume Construction:
I drafted a pattern for a Donna by altering a pre-existing pattern I've made. The bodysuit is made from four way stretch glitter velvet, I'm still finding glitter everywhere from sewing it. I put under-bust seams into the bodysuit to help the bodysuit mold to my body. I designed to suit to have a large enough neck opening to allow for no zipper. I applied rhinestones all over the bodysuit by hand using E600. The suit has multiple constellations mapped on the suit including Scorpio on my thigh, Virgo on my hip and Orion on my calf.

All the silver sections are made using silver metallic spandex. My gauntlets are made from craftfoam and covered in the spandex and the belt is gathered under the belt buckle to give it dimension. The belt buckle is sculpted by me using Scult It, painted, varnished and attached with a snap. I made my chocker from PVC with a sculpted silver eagle and my earrings which are silver moons.

I was asked promo model for Heroes-In-Tights again this year, which I happy accepted. I was very excited when I was told I would be wearing Dark Phoenix. I love angry and overpowered characters! I have some minor alterations I'd like to do before I wear this next such as taking in the costume even more and finding a new wig.
