Sort of a steampunk creation--the poor girl needs only her head and her heart to provide blood to the 'machine'. Polymer clay sculpt, antique silverplate pickle jar holder (I think that's what it is), tiny glass jars filled with resin 'blood', antique trim, antique brass number plate and other found objects. This piece is also lit from underneath to illuminate the pool of blood and the heart contained in the glass globe.
The sculpture integrates anatomy models, epoxy putty, air dry clay, wire, embalmer's thread, animal bones, shark teeth, nails, cloth, polyurethane resin, and a cast bronze quail skull. It was painted in acrylics, watercolors, and inks.
Yes, I'm getting crazy and contemplating ideas towards another book. Something smaller, slightly less ambitious, perhaps- not to say that it'll be lower quality, but I'd like to do the next big piece in less than four months.
