Watercolor and Gouache

Where I live in Florida, you often see egrets and herons catching lizards. This unfortunate little dragon has found itself a little lower on the food chain than usual.

((I'm working on a lot of things at once, but I couldn't resist finishing and uploading this image.))

ok, this took me 4 hours to piece the picture together. this was about 15 different pictures, from different angles, attempting to photograph around a large bed and trying to not get glare from the semigloss paint.

TOTALLY WORTH IT.

15 hours painting

about 15 feet long and 8-10 feet tall

4 hours photoshopping pieces together

Just drew this for a Duck Stamp contest a couple of years ago. I managed to get a first place on it. Yay! I just used colored pencil and an exacto knife to add in the texture and details. Kinda cool... for a duck.
