She smiles.A simple word, or two,She smiles.4 years ago in Visual & Found Poetry More Like This
Fireworks go off in her eyes,
Lighting up, amber grey,
Glittering gently, as the world stilled,
Soft lips, pulled gently to arc,
The gleam of pearl, no time for second glances,
An image transformed, as I am mystified,
A simple word, or two,
And a smile.
I Am A Child.I am a child.I Am A Child.3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Unsure, yet unafraid.
Innocent, and carefree.
Surrounded by those who love me,
I have the luxury of taking things for granted.
I can afford to waste things like time,
I get what I need, and everything I want.
I am me, myself entirely, and I don't care what people say to it,
Because I am not aware.
I am ignorant, but I am proud.
I live in a world of princesses and knights,
Pirates and ogres.
I am me.
I am perfect.
I am a child.
I Am An Adult.I am an adult.I Am An Adult.3 years ago in Emotional More Like This
Wary and watchful,
So much to fear, yet so little.
I work hard, day by day,
I stress easily,
But I don't give a damn.
It's not hard,
That's what they always say.
What they want you to think.
But it's hard.
I am alone,
I am inhuman.
I am a machine,
Placed on this earth for your convienence.
I am here to serve you,
To serve the world.
I am me.
I am careful.
I am an adult.
Fear FactoryA subconscious switch is flippedFear Factory3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
And the dormant machine awakens
The fear factory springs to life
Distribution is about to begin
Frightened thoughts invade the heart
They are compounded by the imagination
Inner demons are working overtime
Working to perfect fresh fears
There is no way to shut it down
Panic buttons just add fuel to the fire
Emotions don't mean much at all
As this industry is quite heartless
You can't escape your own thoughts
Paranoia knocks on the door
It has arrived to sell you more fear
And it makes a convincing case
This factory will always be producing
Designing doubts for you alone
Nobody can stop it's reign of pain
Maybe you'll learn to tune it out
RisenI had no use for my sightRisen4 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
Only darkness I could see.
all that's left of me.
Haunted by the past
I crawled into a ball.
I have seen them all.
alone in my cage.
Held by anger,
withdrawn by fear,
always been there, longer than age.
I accepted defeat.
Forgot the light,
for to break free
is no small feat.
The sky opened
How could it be?
You were able to unmask
and see the real me.
