Allow me to take you back to a world that no longer exists. A world that had such cruel segregation that children of unwanted traits were treated no better than abused animals, doomed to only know the dark existence of slavery. Slave shops loomed every corner, selling the innocent for work, sex, fighting, or anything the master wished them to be. In this realm, those born with light hair and blue eyes were considered people, but those unlucky enough to be born with dark hair and brown eyes were worse than dogs.
The story I am about to tell, brings us back to a boy better known as Sami. We find him locked in a dirty cage at the far reaches of a slave shop. The boy had recently been sold from an abusive owner, who bought a new slave to take his place. Sami's pale and scared skin reflected the type of life he had lived. On him were nothing but a pair of dirty shorts three sizes too big, only held on by a sl

It was around 3 AM. The very early morning sky was pitch black with the occasional star dotting the horizon. The moon was hidden behind a wall of clouds, just barely giving you enough light to find your way to the house.
It was your first big raid. You had managed to live off of pick-pocketing for the past year or so, but this was it. This was where you were going to get the cash.
As you reached the house, you couldn't help but stare at the Beilshmidt residence in awe. It wasn't anything fancy, but it was quite large and simply beautiful.
You had heard rumors about the two amazingly handsome brothers that lived there, but you didn't care. You were here for the money. They were rich.
As quietly as possible, you slipped into the large home through the window you had 'casually' cracked open earlier. Thankfully no one noticed and closed it.
You took a deep breath and looked around. Glad you were in black slippers, as the floor was wooden, you sneaked into the kitchen. You noticed it seemed

蓮 -- LOTUS
once upon a time, there lived a pair of lovelaced sisters bound by string and tied by laughter to a travelling circus that roamed the wonderwise world.
A MARVEL, came the crier. AN ANOMOLY IN ITSELF.
the stage was always the set and the mood was always dark. they wore a new story every night because it was the nothing they always knew.
FOURTEEN YEARS AGO, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, OUR RINGLEADER RECEIVED A STRANGE LETTER, the crier always brayed, hoarse like radishes grated in the sand.
IT WAS FROM THE QUEEN OF KIRIBATI, A PROUD ISLAND NATION. SHE HAD BEEN BLESSED AND CURSED WITH TWO PRINCE-PRINCESSES-- A COMMON AFFLICTION IN THEIR COUNTRY, BUT ALAS, THESE DARLING TWINS COULD NOT LEGALLY MARRY, AND SO THE ROYAL LINE WOULD BE BROKEN. WITH TEARS IN HER EYES, THE QUEEN REQUESTED THAT OUR KIND RINGLEADER CARE FOR THE GIRLS UNTIL THE MATTER OF ASCENDANCY WAS RESOLVED.
QUITE CONTRARY TO THEIR ROYAL BLOOD, THESE TWIN PRINCESSES ARE OF PLAYFUL DEMEANORS, FULL OF LIVELINESS AND CH

Why can't I be sad about this?
Not a single tear has flown
Am I emotionless?
Am I a monster?
Why can't I be sad about this
My mood seems to be the same
Am I heartless?
Am I empty?
Why can't I be sad about this
The others have their masks on
Why do I not need mine?
What have I become?
Or maybe, just maybe
I have grown used to the pain
Of losing someone who's close to me
Maybe, just maybe

Take that feeling of hopelessness
And wipe it from your face
That frown will get you nowhere,
And yet nowhere you will go.
Listen to the snow that breathes
On this glacial mountaintop.
The summit watches you, and it
Laughs at your marked cowardice.
It is telling you to turn away,
For the God that rests atop this crest
Holds a crown of blizzards,
The blood of dragons on his collar.
Slicing open the girths of faeries
That bleed harsh cold and despair.
A boya saplinga man like you
Could never brave the victorious screams.
You trudge onwards, yet,
Like the fool that you are.
Can you hear that sound, above
This blistering hurricane of ice?
It is him, and he is roaring,
Cackling at your vain cries and struggles.
He taunts you with his voice, daring you
To reach the top and touch him.
The exit is a solace to the scorching,
But you are not alone.
Upon this mountaintop, you have
Not even one,
He is in the distance, and yet
Silent VoicesSilent Voices3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Even though I can not hear your words to me
I see the subtle smile behind your words.
We become indulged in our own world
of silent words between us.
My hands display my hearts' feelings
in artful gestures to relay my thoughts.
Those who see me believe I'm just like them
but unknown to them I see more than most.
Little signs of human interaction
giving away all of the secrets
behind the words I can not really hear.
I see the world in a different light
a world of silent voices.
My way of talking may be unfamiliar to you
but the beauty of my language is unmatched.
I remember the sound of your world
But I know my world is just as beautiful.

Lost in my past,
and I cant get
Trapped but content
in this little window
where none pass....
How can I not take
the comments to heart
when you are
Lost in what I called the past
Lost in shattered time
Lost in what I call time
Lost and alone
In a small temple,
flowers lay around me
and tears stain the concrete
as I think of your shining eyes
I reach out,but the link is broken
and broken it will stay
you told me,and so did she
It will remain this way.
How can I break the door
to my future,
when the whereabouts are unknown
the rain of the past will pin me down
in a rushing,torrential downpour.
The feathers from your wings
drift slowly to the ground
as you leave my world behind but remain connected
somehow,it will work,
we have always been in sync
but far apart
nevertheless you and her.
I wish a gentle flight.
spread your wings
unto the world

Stars made of nightmares and skies made of fears
Hearts made of glass and a home built of tears
Cries made of silence and words made of knives
Dreams of the struggle to simply survive
Souls made of paper and minds made of flames
She is a piece of their loveliest game
No longer can she feel more than disgust
Even a rainbow does turn into dust

she started a girl with pink dresses,
dirty white sandals and rustled hair she'd pull down
before she even left the door.
she hates the lace, the way it pulls on her shoulders
and droops a tulip over her hips and down her legs.
but she braves through it, because mommy says so.
she's mommy's girl, a girl who did what she said instead
or whatever she wanted to. she's mommy's girl,
a girl who wore dresses and attended parties with
the same dolly she cried for when she got it for her birthday.
it's medieval day- the biggest day of preschool,
like a prom for little whores and cute business men.
paige, do you want to be a knight or a princess? she asks.
i want to be a knight.
no, you don't.
i want to be a knight.
don't be silly.
but i want to be a knight.
but you're a pretty princess, she says.
the girls call her stupid.
she sits on the cardboard castle steps, a cone hat on her head.
a sparkling strand runs down her shoulders, over her hair. she pulls.
