If I only had a brain
(art thief parody)
I could post a deviation,
That's purely my creation
and comment just the same
all the artists would respect me
no white-knight would need protect me
if I only had a brain
I could take critques with pleasure
regard them as a treasure
and not be wracked with pain
forgot would be my name
from the troll-ee hall of fame
if I only had a brain
Oh I! wanna cry!
whenever someone tells me I am wrong
Just smile like a fool and play along
I'll have em blocked! (before too long!)
Oh I wouldn't bear the grief
of knowing I'm a thief
with my heart all full of shame
I could post a deviation
without all this aggravation
if i only had a brain

FrancescoThe rough linen and wool warmed his frail, pallid body as he lay stretched out on the makeshift bed in his little church. His eyes, which he kept close, were burning and swollen. Blood still seeped from his open wounds. It was late in the autumn afternoon, leaves falling from the trees in their spectacular array of colors. They were crimson, orange, and saffron like the fine clothes that gay daughters of nobility wore when the summery days had been warm and sweet. Snow would soon fill the valley, and the mountains already wore their white caps of winter. His donkey stood at the foot of the bed, and his dearest friend knelt at his side. He could barely see either of them, but their scents told him that he was safely in their care. He could also hear his donkey nervously shifting around on its hooves.Francesco4 years ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This

Murdering Mary SueMurdering Mary SueMurdering Mary Sue7 years ago in Academic Essays More Like This
Every aspiring writer has met her at least once, whether in his own works or in those of others. The alluring temptation of a perfect character taunts the author from one side while his muse urges him to keep writing from the other. Who wouldn't love her? She's the most beautiful, talented, fantastic woman in the universe, with not a flaw in sight. Every woman wants to be her; every man wants to marry her, so why would anyone want to kill her? Who would want to murder Mary Sue?
I would. I and many greater authors have been working hard to keep this succubus in her proper place: the trash can. Mary Sue is one of the worst enemies of good fiction, second only to poor spelling and grammar. And the seductress tempts even the most cautious writer. Her many disguises can make her difficult to spot, allowing her to weave her way into every plot twist and turn, slowly destroying the author's work. By the time shes found, she may have done so much damage that the

All actions have consequences. Sometimes for one's character, those consequences are fatal. In some cases, that's what the players want and everyone is okay with that. However, one has to step lightly. People won't always take kindly someone killing their character because, in essence, you cut them out of all future interactions on that plotline. Thus, it's common courtesy to do something like this:
Player 1 says OOC: Hey, if Jimmy does that to Davie, then Davie will kill him. Are you okay with this?
Player 2 says OOC: No, I don't like that. What if Jimmy does *insert action*?
Player 1 says OOC: Then Davie will not kill him.
Player 2 says OOC: Okay, good.
Obviously, there are times when Player 2 will be fine with his/her character dying. Even if a player has more than one character, it's still important to ask. A character's death can also be arranged beforehand.

Parents say , “Don't give your information
to someone who may do something dirty!
They're liars, evil and rapist in waiting.
Their compliments and gifts
are just another form of baiting.”
I'd like to think that we judge without
getting to know,
what happens on the other side of the mouse.
Internet friends are there when we're alone,
till 2 a.m on weeknights,
chatting with us until the pain is gone.
They're always there to confide,
when we're sometimes
on the verge of suicide.
Pulling us through our depression,
begging us not to relapse,
not to succumb to our regressions.
“Get help, not attention,” they'll tap in chat,
as a response of a picture,
that'll show our wrists all hatched.
Sometimes it's the little things they do for us,
like sending “You're amazing” “You're beautiful”,
“You're so full of love.”
They encourage us at times when our “friends” don't,
User Story IdeaI have an idea for a group or story project that involves a group of people who play as characters in a constructed world. There are many ways for the story to go but I would like that it be settled in a democratic fashion by a deciding vote of anyone who wants to participates in this group. Basically, the participants create user avatars as their player character and have free creative license with it. However, there is a catch. Player characters can not be over powered or change the plot in a significant way such as Godmodding or destroying stuff without the consent of the players (i.e. blowing up a nation or continent for 'the evilz') or killing off characters without consent.User Story Idea1 year ago in Settings More Like This

He plays with children's toys
And he's got a crazy style.
But everything he lacks
Well he makes up in denial!

I'm never actually going to send this letter to you, but I still feel like I have to write it. Chances are, even if I sent it to you, you'd probably only casually read it and toss it aside anyway you just seem that confident and that smug. I'm not going to lie, I find myself envious of that aspect of you. The way you can look at her and just know she was, is, and always will be yours. I don't think you know how good you have it, but then again most people don't until it's gone (as they say).
I never really got to hear your side of the story. I know now that it wasn't a callous heartlessness that kept you silent for those many months while tear-filled, anguished blue eyes pined for the smallest message from you. Even knowing the truth, I still can't really see or understand why she remains so dedicated to you. I find it offensive: the idea of a fate or a destiny from some past life defining
What am I doing wrong? A guide to character designHello again, lovelies. What am I doing wrong? A guide to character design3 years ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
Now, I have noticed that there seem to be a lot of design conflicts on the site regarding that someone has *le gasp!* copied your character. Oh, the humanity! How dare they?! How dare they also have a character set who are only black, white, and red because that makes them so deep and edgy. How dare their animal also have a star/heart/diamond on its forehead? How dare they make a character with rainbow legs/tails?! How dare they have a fursona with a "dark" side when they become enraged? How dare their sparkle fursona be black with lime green, hot pink, and cyan markings?! How. Fucking. Dare. They?!
So, you call them out on their obvious theft of your character, and then things get spicy. You get barraged by an army of white knights. You send your white knights after their white knights. Then, when all that is going on, you get a nice, big taste of "trolling" because you're all probably worked up and obsessi

Role-Play Etiquette: A PrimerRoleplaying has all sorts of applications whether it be for therapeutic reasons or just for fun. In addition, roleplaying can heavily parallel theatre in the behavior of people doing it. At many places such as LiveJournal and forums, people are looking for RPing as a way to have a good time with some great people. One of the best parts about RPing is that it works like collaborative writing. For that reason, there are a few things to keep in mind.Role-Play Etiquette: A Primer5 years ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
Section 1: You and Your Character
The whole point of RPing is to take on the guise of someone who is not you. Some people even prefer to call the characters "puppets" and "muses" which highlights the relationship that the player has with the character.
It's important to remember that you are in full control of your character. A player shows good form by being true to the construct of the character's personality, but a player is also expected to take responsibility for what he/she writes. This is probably the biggest rule of RP etiquett
