NOTE: The UN-enlarged view is a little bigger than the drawing.

I love the Breaking Bad character Gustavo "Gus" Fring, played by Giancarlo Esposito. He replied to my twitter post, and I was able to send him the original drawing via his manger.
He gave me a random Twitter mention yesterday, SO cool! (2/17/13)

The ENLARGED VIEW is the EXACT SIZE of the ORIGINAL Drawing

I recently got into the HBO series "Entourage". My fav is Jeremy Piven as "Ari Gold". I loved the shadows and values in the photo!

I met Jeremy Piven's make-up artist on Twitter and she is getting him the image, and maybe the original. How cool is that?!? Imagine if he re-tweets my drawing to his 1.6+MILLION followers lol

This is Bryan Cranston as "Walter White" on AMC's show BREAKING BAD.

Keep in mind this drawing is only 5.4 x 7 inches, so details will get lost when viewing larger. VIEW ZOOMED DETAILS IN A LARGE HIGH RES PIC HERE: [link]

PS - his right pupil (our left) was not exactly rounded on both sides in the reference photo, and I drew it that way. Wishing I had corrected it now. Like someone once told me, if it looks strange in a photo, it will look even stranger in your drawing. Sometimes we need to take a little artistic license and change it to look more natural?

CHECK out what Vince Gilligan (creator of the show) sent me when he saw my BB drawings :D:D

It Currently hangs at the Breaking Bad offices :D

This is Aaron Paul who play Jessie Pinkman on AMC's "Breaking Bad" named the BEST show on TV (agreed!!)

Season 4 premiered last night (7.17.11) and it was CRAZY GOOD!!

We got to meet him in Chicago at one of our son's shows at HardRock Cafe in 2010

I gifted the drawing to Aaron. Here he is with my drawing :D:D

I know...there are too many drawings of this guy, but I hadn't drawn him since January 2009, when I first started drawing, and I wanted to do a larger piece. This old one below only as a 3 inch face.

OLD DRAWING

The reference photo was actually lacking in some details, so I added some of my own. There was SO much BLACK in this, I basically just blacked out everything that WASN'T Jack :D:D

Breaking Bad fans know this is Aaron Paul, who recently won an Emmy Award for "Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series" for his role as “Jesse Pinkman” in AMC's hit show "Breaking Bad". I don't allow myself to obsess over any TV shows or celebrities, but Breaking Bad is my SOLE exception, ha! :D:D So you can imagine that we were thrilled to meet Aaron at Hard Rock Café in Chicago in 2010, while watching our son Andrew Belle perform. He is a super nice guy, and when you spend literally dozens of hours with a TV character, you feel as if you know them?

A few days ago, I @ mentioned Aaron (@aaronpaul_8) on twitter and said that if he followed me on twitter, I would draw him a large double portrait of him and Bryan Cranston" and he agreed! (twitter.com/rickfortson) However, he would rather I create a different drawing that he would hang in his personal home :D:D

Last week, I finally mailed my original “Walter White” drawing to Vince Gilligan (show creator) who is having it framed and hung in the official Breaking Bad office! :D:D

Last December, Vince Gilligan had somehow seen my drawings and had his assistant email me to get my home address, and then sent me some fan SWAG from the show, along with a hand written thank you note. Of course, I remain blown away that he did that!

My past Breaking Bad drawings:

Synopsis: Breaking Bad is an American television drama series created and produced by Vince Gilligan. Set and produced in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Breaking Bad is the story of Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a struggling high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with advanced lung cancer at the beginning of the series. He turns to a life of crime, producing and selling methamphetamine with a former student, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), with the aim of securing his family's financial future before he dies.

I was asked again by Rosebud Magazine in California to draw Jack Nicholson, because they are doing an interview with him, and he's on the cover. They said he will most likely view my art work!! :D:D

VIEW the FULL ARTICLE HERE: [link]

I've created a Google Doc with all the scans of the steps I took, so I don't have to SPAM everyone with all the WIP updates. The only problem is, you can't see the fine details very well, because they are pasted images, not attachments.

SIZE: 7 x 8 INCHES
TIME: about 10-12 hours?
PAPER: Strathmore Bristol Smooth 300 series
PENCILS: Staedtler Mars Lumograph H, HB, F, B, 2B, 3B

PLEASE NOTE: The ENLARGED view is slightly larger than the actual drawing. See the high res scan link above for CLOSE UP details :D:D Speaking of which...the details in his eyes drove me nuts! I prolly spent over 4 hours total on the eyes!

PS - note I drew the entire head? I ALWAYS crop the scalp at least a little. It is so you get the most face in the space allowed. However, Rosebud Mag insisted that I drew the whole thing, and that they are also going to do some type of "watercolor effect" to the drawing? I will post that when I see it.

Any "Entourage" fans here? I recently got into the show, and have watched almost all 7 seasons in the last few weeks.

Previously was Jeremy Piven (Ari Gold)

I plan to draw all of the main characters soon. However, I start teaching a portrait drawing class at a local college tomorrow, so I will be drawing someone different next
