TF2 Contest-- THIS TRAIN IS OVERI have decided the winner(s) and have sent everyone their respective points--and I officially have one last point remaining for the sake of having the contestant prize a specific number. (Everyone knows what I'm talking about)TF2 Contest-- THIS TRAIN IS OVER2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The next contest will have items from the game as rewards--seeing as how I'm now broke in terms of dA currency.
These items can be anything from hats to weapons to tons and tons of refined metal.
I hope everyone had a nice time and has a nice rainbow-filled day.
Since I'm sick and tired at looking at over 2000 points that I don't plan to ever use (because after they closed down the shop... who really cares anymore. I don't want a premium so...?), I decided that I'm just gonna hold a TF2 contest and give someone literally almost a year's premium.
This is going to be a very casual one--not that many restrictions because it would be like taking away all new weapons and making us use stock for the rest of our lives.
Stock is fun--but only to an extent.

'Legend of Korra' Series Review:...............................woah.'Legend of Korra' Series Review:3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Well; that was rather good, wasn't it?
Splendid art, voice acting and a compelling narrative on par with any live-action, prime-time series.
The resolution at the end, though, felt a little rushed. While I'm glad there was one, it had an air of finality about it, as though it's uncertain a second season will ever transpire.
If there isn't one; it'll be a crime, given all the work that went into crafting Korra's world.
Top 5 Mistakes (I've made over the years)To many people in comics, I only arrived a few years ago with Joe the Barbarian. Then came Hellblazer (completed in 2008 before I began working on Joe), American Vampire: SOTF, and finally Punk Rock Jesus. Once in a while someone will mention Off Road (an OGN I did with Oni back in 2004), but for the most part it seems like I've been published only these last few years when in fact I've been published professionally for a decade now.Top 5 Mistakes (I've made over the years)3 years ago in Personal More Like This
This isn't a plea to have everyone go back through my previous work--in fact, I'm glad that a lot of the books I've done over the years aren't on readers' radars. I'm proud of it all, but the books above are a nice, tight group of titles to be associated with. They're all in a similar brand, they're all recent, they all have good creators/publishers associated with them, and the artwork is mostly consistent. Go back further than that, and you'll see artwork that looks nothing like the stuff I'm doing these days. (Although Off Road still holds up to some de

Lots of artists on dA do Points Commissions, also known as PCs, which involve creating art or design for other people on request in return for Points. Here are just a few of them...
If you're looking for a specific type of commission, simply use Ctrl+F, type in what you want (literature, drawing, polymer clay, digital, animation, colouring, icons, logos, design, tutorials, stamps, emotes, vector, 3D, pixel dolls, photography, photomanipulation, space art, terragen, digital art, journal skins, journal scripts, wallpapers, comics, fractals, journal css, gallery css, cosmetic application, craft) and your browser will do the hard work for you!

To anyone who finds these memory cards,
and the messages left within...
My name is Charles Snippy. I am probably the last sane human being left on earth. I know not whether you will understand this message. I know not whether you'll even be able to decode the ones and zeros on these data cards. I know not whether my voice will even reach anyone.
I know not, whether the microscopic drives will last long enough and whether the plastic and metal which composes them will not disintegrate into dust as centuries pass or whether the titanium shell encasing them will remain in place or be consumed by the ever-changing landscape, lost forever.
And yet I still have hope that someone will find the story of my life, long past and learns something of use from it.
If you are still human, then this will be a story about the collapse of civilization of your forefathers through greed and arrogance.
If you are some other species entirely, then it is a story about how our human race was extin

Fan Art Law
Mon Sep 10, 2012 by techgnotic
t seems there’s nothing quite as dear to the hearts of many of our deviants as their production of fan art, and at the same time, there is nothing so knotted with legal and ethical headaches. Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but in the form of fan art it has also become one of the most frustratingly complicated. At some point, the sheer volume of fan art around a single property may become so large that the issue rises to another level of scrutiny by the creators of the original work.
With this dynamic in mind, we thought the following panel that Josh Wattles, our Advisor In Chief here at deviantART, and a mystery guest named Harold Smith, gave at Comic Con this year might be of immense help in understanding the ever evolving elements of fan art
Poll Questions: 09/20/2013Yes, it may sound a bit weird, but I am trying to make a poll question to see which one of the answers would get the most percentage. Its like a math experiment mixed with a political experiment for me in terms of ideology, political views, and philosophy. So i will give out six questions with eight answers each. Remember, there are not right or wrong answers, since they are just research. Each question will have eight choices for you to choose from. Determining your views of order-chaos, freedom-security, and equality-inequality, your results will determine where you stand on the spectrum.Poll Questions: 09/20/20132 years ago in Personal More Like This

And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .
Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Sketchbook Pro 6So most of you know that I'm a Sketchbook Pro user.Sketchbook Pro 63 years ago in Personal More Like This
A few days back, Autodesk released Sketchbook Pro 6, and I think this is the version that's going to make a lot of people who have YET to experience Sketchbook Pro in full, or haven't really given the past versions a chance, switch over to making it their digital drawing software of choice; heck, even their PAINTING software of choice.
We still have the cleverly-designed user interface, that makes it easy on the eyes and mind when we're brainstorming and sketching. With the handful of new tools introduced, we still have a clutter-free drawing environment, and man, there's some awesome tools this time around. I'll go down the list:
The Brush Library
The main brush toolbar itself has a click-and-drag function, allowing you to store all your often-used brushes in each of the "lanes". You then can click the button on the upper-right and then a fu

Miyazaki vs OtakuIn case you haven’t heard this, renowned Japanese animation icon Hayao Miyazaki was quoted as saying that the reason the anime industry is suffering is because it’s overrun with “otaku.”Miyazaki vs Otaku1 year ago in Personal More Like This
You can read the full article here: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2014-01-30/miyazaki/the-problem-with-the-anime-industry-is-it-full-of-otaku
Naturally, such a high profile artist such as Miyazaki coming down hard on Otaku has offended a lot of people and a bit of backlash has sprung up because of it. I’d like to try and reassure some of you that it’s not as bad as it might sound, and here’s why (please keep in mind this is from an American perspective).
“Otaku” in Japan is (or was) an offensive word, usually embodying the worse traits of obsessive basement dwelling collection completing socially inept geeks. It gained widespread negative connotations after the 1989 “Otaku Murders” carried out by Tsutomu Miyazaki (which are to

No wonder some men don't like breedinghttp://thechildfreelife.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=28274&view=unread#unreadNo wonder some men don't like breeding10 months ago in Personal More Like This
Well, first off, CF men are sexy as hell! And I'm very fortunate to have found one as staunchly CF as I am.
However, for those who give in because the wife wants them, I can't help but feel bad for them in a way. I realize it's a bed, made, lie situation, but at same time, I can't help but feel bad that a partner they thought was their lover and best friend in life put them on the back burner once the kids came along.
I can see why more men don't like breeding. They don't wanna be put on the back burner and be treated as a walking wallet and sperm donor.
For any man wanting to avoid this, you're smart and don't let the entitled third wave femoonists shame you into submission. Because as a 2nd wave feminist, I know they're guilty of doing that. It's almost like the reverse shaming of a woman if she doesn't marry or have children. At least that's my opinion based on that observation.

The Elder Scrolls: The Second Great WarTen years after the Dragon Crisis had ended a new threat endangered the people of Tamriel. The faction known as the Aldmeri Dominion looked to wage war on the humans of Tamriel, starting with taking Cyrodiil, home of the fading Empire. The Elder Scrolls: The Second Great War3 years ago in Personal More Like This
"Emperor! They have taken Blackwood." said a messenger panting as if he had run all the way from Blackwood to the Imperial City. "Then war is upon us. Ready the men." proclaimed Titus Mede III, current Emperor of Tamriel. The Empire now only consisted of Cyrodiil and High Rock. "And see if Ulfric Stormcloak will answer our call for aid." Two days later in Windhelm Ulfric, High King of Skyrim called an important meeting on whether or not his Stormcloak army would join the war. In attendance were Delphine and Esbern leaders of the now restored Blades, the other eight Jarls of Skyrim, Aela the Huntress representing the Companions, Karliah representing the small but powerful Nightingales and Dovahkiin, the Dragonborn who rid Tamriel of Dragons.
