A commission from a friend of mine, he asked for a Mozart doll based on the movie Amadeus, which I also LOVE!
As far as 18th century-inspired dolls are concerned, this one was very simple: some ruffles, some embroidery, a couple of curls and that fluffy faux fur wig. And you can kind of see the black ribbon that ties around his pony tail on the back.
So here's my second entry for the 2010 FanArtPolooza contest that is holding!
I decided to make plushies! I had this idea for a long time but I finally got around to actually making them for this contest. I wanted to make all of the Revolutionary War cast so I made (left to right) Freddy Knowlton, Colonel Thomas Knowlton--with his scruffiness, Alexander Hamilton--with his freckles, Alan Warren, Beatrice Whaley, and Nathan Hale in front--with his spontoon.
Each of them are about 5 inches tall and hand sewn. They're made with stitches, felt, glue and love! Keep in mind that these are the first things I've ever sewn in my life. I've never picked up a needle and thread until last week when I started!
Each of these characters are from 's comic The Dreamer. If you haven't read it yet, go read it!
