New Glen (Updated)Hey guys!New Glen (Updated)2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Without revealling too much, progress on the new Glenmetropolis universe is going great. Characters are being reworked on, storylines as well. In fact, here's a list of "confirmed" (or rather, important) characters for the new Glenmetropolis. Those I've drawn, at least...
The main protagonist, Marcus Keith Bassman's motivation to rid city of crime stems in his desire to elucidate the murder of African ambassador Nsia Okondo, who was under his care when she died in the explosion of her limousine. Diplomatic disasters were abound after her death, and while Fourstrings was still in his hospital bed, he was recruited to become an agent of the F.L.O.O.D. to investigate the ambassador's murder. Scarred both physically and mentally by the explosion, Bassman was more than determined to see the investigation through. What he and the other members of the F.L.O.O.D. uncover, however, rapidly slides out of hand and plunges the world into a sta
NEW TOURNAMENT COMINGGreetings, friends and owners of 's OC warriors!NEW TOURNAMENT COMING4 months ago in Personal More Like This
It's been a long time ...
But I'm happy to announce right now, that this summer, immediately following the conclusion of the :icondeviantuniverse: Summer Crossover, a new tournament will start here, in this dust-covered forgotten place
A first glimpse at the plot will come next weekend ( May 2 ), to see who's interested.
Recruiting will begin then, too.
So far I can only tell you two things:
1. This is gonna be the tournament ... of your dreams and
2. There will be an ample amount of prize money involved.
So remember, remember
the 1st of September!
It's the day :iconvipers-colloseum: will come back to life!
DREAM WARRIORS TOURNAMENT ( ON HOLD ) UPDATE: Okay, everybody, some of you might consider this bad news, some may not.DREAM WARRIORS TOURNAMENT ( ON HOLD )4 months ago in Personal More Like This
I decided to put "Dream Warriors" on hold due to the underwhelming interest so far
It's okay, really. When I announced this tournament, I had no idea AFL 1000 was right around the corner.
Guess two major tournaments back to back is a bit too much for most people.
Oh well, but as far as I'm concerned, it is still gonna happen. When, I don't know yet.
If you feel the itch, jump to the linked Journal below and signal your participation via comment.
Depending on the number of interested artists, who pipe up until September 1 ( the originally planned start for the tournament ), I will decide the future of this event.
So far I didn't even get 10 people together, not even enough for a proper quarter-final bout.
I need at least 20 participants or this even is not gonna happen.
So let's see what gives by September 1.
Please let me know if you plan on participating in the upcoming "Dream Warriors" Tourname

1. How long have you been on DeviantArt?
Profile says 8, though I've been here for actually 10. Only set up an actual profile to get started on drawing.
2. What does your username mean?
Comes from a facination with a sub-type of steampunk called 'clockpunk', where everything was powered by gears and clockwork. After that, I just slapped on a noun at the end to to make it stand out more.
3. Describe yourself in three words.
Brilliant, lazy geek
4. Are you left or right handed?
Right handed, last time I checked.
5. What was your first deviation?
The Philosopher's Reference , an embarrassing first start, but I'm just glad I've improved since then.
6. What is your favorite type of art to create?
It is a split between comic pages and character references. Both seem to bring out the best in me.
7. If you could instantly master a different art sty

Just a quick journal update for everyone, then back to drawing Stray. Just letting everyone know I will be at NYCC next month. Oops, sorry about that but the date was wrong, I will be doing my first american in store signing on SATURDAY OCTOBER 11 at JHU Comics for ACTION LAB NIGHT! Sorry if that causes any inconvenience. Really hope you all can pull through.

How To Give Better Comment - (Edited Version)Ever wanted to know the key in giving better comments? Tired of your ordinary short phrases that go no where, and have no point? How To Give Better Comments
During our visit here at deviantART, upon submitting our deviations, what is expected next? Comments! However, here's a little fun past-time activity: take all the excellent, if not better, deviations comments in your gallery. Now take a look at all the deviation comments you've ever received. You will notice that good comments don't happen as often as they should. Although we all want good comments and to be better commenters ourselves, we have to act upon it instead of just sitting around and hoping to receiving nice comments after submitting something. Give, to receive.
Here I show you the basic concept of commenting, to make yourself a better commenter; and I don't mean being a 'good' commenter since everyone comments in his or her own way. That i

Thor bashed stuff with his hammer.
Iron Man flew around and zapped stuff.
Hawkeye shot arrows.
Black Widow shot guns.
It wasn't what I expected...but I think that's for the best.
I'm amazed Marvel was able to keep some of the stuff that happens secret.

Hey guys! You may or may not have seen the deviation (below) I posted recently. It's for a 4 year old ( I think) boy named Atticus who is going through radiation therapy right now for a tumor in his brain stem. I drew the image for him and I'm going to have it printed as a poster and given to him. As soon as I posted it here on DA I had an idea.

When I first sold LMS to Paramount, a lot of people asked me: "How much money did you get?" "You're probably rich now, right?"
I mean, the solid gold mansion I bought was just a little gift to myself...but...
Ever since I was little, I've known I wanted to draw. From the day my parents put a pencil in my hand, this was my future. I just knew it, I had that gut feeling. So I stuck to it, and thankfully it took me to heights I'd have never imagined possible. Now with my new book Redemption heading off to studios soon for a hopeful movie package, I can't wait to see where this new road takes me.
That said, there's something else that tops all of this.
The other night I went out to visit my girlfriend's cousin and her family. Incredibly kind people with very sweet kids. Other than the two parents, there were 3 kids, but the one who caught my interest was the eight-year old boy, Diego.
Diego, shy, tiny, slender, reminded me of myself when I was his a

5 Tips to Maintaining and Gaining WatchersFor those who have many watchers, and for those who dont have many, it is hard to know how one retains that interest as well as receive more. This article explores the basics of watchers and how we react to certain situations. Although it does not affect some deviants, and the tips are generally common sense, we hope the article is a worthwhile read and that the majority learn something from reading this.5 Tips to Maintaining and Gaining Watchers6 years ago in Art Features More Like This
1. When uploading deviations, do not bombard your watchers. If you upload only one or two a day, or even one or two a week, you will get more comments as well as more attention. People will have more time to comment and more time in general, whereas if you upload all in one go, they will most likely delete and just comment on a few.
2. Spend time on your artwork. Once youve finished a piece, it doesnt stop there. Youve got to consider the title, which impacts the piece significantly and the artists comment. Is art ever finished? Ask yourself that q
