Opening up for 10 orders to help with my laser pain therapy that I was finally admitted to. It has helped A LOT with pain over all and the pinching of my spinal cord. But there's still payments to be made to that and to my insurance that has upped itself to 150$.
I'm still doing physical therapy and saving up for Pain Therapy as well as a new car after mine was destroyed from a semi truck crash. So, I do apologize for being slow on some orders. If you wish to help I have a donation link here: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_flow&SESSION=qWcTZgpxTql4pqLbhuiWe7qHgRBnHqiowqFURWxzuO1cbeLs2aPHsn53GAK&dispatch=5885d80a13c0db1f8e263663d3faee8d0b7e678a25d883d0fa72c947f193f8fd but obviously it's not required. How to Make 2D Tile sets for games Part 1 + MoreHey everyone! How to Make 2D Tile sets for games Part 1 + More1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I just uploaded a new tutorial, the first in the series, all about making 2D tiles and tile sets for games!
Things covered in this episode:
- The anatomy of a basic tileset
- Setting up and using Photoshop's grid system for making tiles
- Using Photoshop's Offset filter to make tiles seamless
- Adapting a tiling texture into a tileset
- Some results of a finished basic tileset
- Thoughts and some opinions!
- I forgot to master the audio. Sorry if I sound just a tad muffly!
Also recently uploaded by Tyler Edlin, this video about perspective drawing where I also have a segment about how to make perspective grids in Photoshop!
By the way, have you been paying attention to my tumblr? I post stuff like this more often there, as I only see my DA journal as a means to communicate about mo
Avoid getting ripped off by a client. As a freelancer most of your business takes place online, which makes it really easyAvoid getting ripped off by a client.6 months ago in Personal More Like This
for people to rip you off. How many times have we seen the following scenario's:
1- Someone offers a descent payment for your artwork but wants you to do an art-test first.
after the art-test you're being told you're not good enough. Later you find out that other people
got to do different art-test topics and also weren't good enough. The client clearly ripped people off to get free artwork.
2- Someone offers good money for your artwork. The sketch gets approved so you continue working. Right when it's done the total image suddenly becomes a great disappointment and the client ends up not paying you.
These were just 2 examples of situations that happen a lot to freelancers. There are many more like it.
How to detect if a client is a bit fishy...

First of all I want to thank those of you who have purchased my tutorial through legitimate means. Your support has been incredible, myself and my family can't thank you enough, the notes and letters I have received from many of you in regards to the tutorial have honestly been touching and inspirational - it's been an experience unlike anything I expected to find in this business.
It is that very experience which has prompted me to come forward and lay my cards on the table and finally expose what has been transpiring behind the facade that is being presented to you by these institutions, because you deserve to know the truth for your own financial and intellectual protection.
I've waited to come forward about it because I've wanted my mo

Teori Jitu Membangun Kedisiplinan3 years ago in Personal More Like This

What does 'Character Design' mean?
The character design is the process which comes after the characterisation and consists in defining the character through his/her physical appearance.
We need to consider a character as a little fictional creature, human or not, that aims to please its creator and the public as well.
While the basic characterization of this fictional creature (his tastes, his fears, his behaviors) may take a little mental effort, as it is a sort of list of emotions, facts and feelings that come and go in the life of a character, the process of visual realization of this creature may not be as simple. That's why many writers and characters creators prefer to rely on experienced hands.
Also many of the mental aspects of the character are not possible to gain by using 'static' visual medium. For 'static' I mean all the illustrations and drawings unable to tell a

I'm playing the role of animation director and can definitely say that I'm nervous and excited about where this thing could go!

My deviantART StoryIt has now been over 10 years since I first decided to join deviantART and little did I know then, this decision would end up forging my entire life and career. My deviantART Story1 month ago in Personal More Like This
I wish I remembered exactly how it all started, but I'm going to go with my best guess and say I heard about it from another student when I started college back when I had just turned 18. Up until then I had been using various art forums such as wcreplays.com, animex.com, sijun.com and cgsociety.org so the discovery of a portfolio website was a pretty cool thing.
I started posting on here and got moderate attention, I had been drawing for a long time at that point so my art was in a state where it was at least interesting to look at. If anything it was a fantastic place to get inspiration and look at art from amazingly talented artists.
It wasn't until I decided to color the line-art for the following piece that everything really started.

Mages are 5-17. They cannot be older or younger. With the exception of Mature mages, they cannot age. And even Mature mages only age temporarily.
Only one mage form is allowed at the moment. Choose wisely!
Your overall design should be based off your mage item. Also certain forms are allowed certain design elements limited to only that form. Please refer below to see what those specifications are.
You should have a "main color" for your mage outfit. This color should account for at least 50% of your Mage outfit's color scheme. (This is only mage form, your character is free to wear whatever they wish norma

Notes on Character DesignI received the question pictured below at my tumblr blog. In case it's useful to anyone here, I decided to go ahead and use this otherwise dormant journal to share the article I put together in response.Notes on Character Design10 months ago in Personal More Like This
Character design and drawing are tome-sized topics and even if I had all the answers (I don't - I have a lot to learn), I'm not sure I could communicate them effectively. Here are some thoughts an ideas that might help, though.
First, some general things...
Let some of that anxiety go. This isn't a hard science. There's no wrong way, no rigid process you must adhere to, no shoulds or shouldn'ts except those you designate for yourself. This is one of the fun parts of being an artist, really - have a heady good time with it.
- Be patient.
A design is something gradually arrived at. It takes time and iteration and revision. You'll throw a lot of stuff away, and you'll i

Concept Art, Byzantine Icons, and WhatnotRight now I’m reading a book on Byzantine religious art called ‘The Sensual Icon’. It’s enlightening in some deeply strange ways. It seems to me that a lot of art history gets things wrong, at least at the survey level. Ancient and medieval art is tacitly presented as if it were modern, but older. Hang it on the wall in an evenly lit room with a name, date, and likely attribution. It was never meant to be seen like this, whether it was a plastered skull from Catal Huyuk, or a gold bas relief of an archangel from the Hagia Sofia. The angels look walleyed and stupid in electric light, but in something harsher than the flames of candles the central effect is lost. It’s like the gilt and silvered glass of Versailles: Shadow is needed to sculpt the light. In daylight these things are too shiny, too soft in profile, and too delicate in color. It’s like Liberace had a yard sale. Placed in the deep night however, and the warm glow of small open flames bringsConcept Art, Byzantine Icons, and Whatnot5 months ago in Personal More Like This
