I still remember the day I got my first ever Pokémon game. I was around 8-10 years old at the time.
My mum and dad had just came back from a shopping trip and I was in my room busying myself with my only Pokémon related game at the time: Pokémon Stadium. I mashed the buttons on the control wildly as the oncoming attack from the opponent Dragonair sent my Jolteon's health quickly down to zero, I was just about to send out the next Pokémon in my teams line-up when my mum called me from downstairs. The console's remote fell to the floor with a loud clunk (something I would regret in later life as I now only have one working remote) as I raced out my bedroom door, I knew what was coming, something I'd been waiting for, for a long time.
My mum was in our sitting room. She held a plain plastic bag in her hands and had a welcoming smile on her face. "I got you something while I was in town. Come see." She chimed as she handed me the bag. By this point, my heart was poundin
Pokemon: PerfectI squinted my eyes, trying to read what the screen was telling me. All the mixed colors were so confusing, and I had hardly learned how to properly read those strange lines yet. "I focused, trying to remember the letters I had learned in class and how to pronounce them. "W... Waaaa... Watle?" I mumbled, not really understanding what the word meant, or if I had got it right. "How do you get Mark confused with Watle?" My big brother snatched the DS out of my hands. Apparently I didn't get the word right.Pokemon: Perfect3 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
"Why are you even looking at my trainer card?" I opened my mouth, having not really thinking of a response yet but wanting to look smart, but he cut me off anyways, "Whatever." He fumbled around with the DS, pressing buttons in a mystical pattern I couldn't imagine ever perfecting. After a minute he gave it back to me. I eagerly clutched the game. The character was standing in the middle of the dirt road once more, ready for battle. I was relieved, as I didn't really know how to exit out

"Oh wow, Pokemon HeartGold!"
I plucked the shining game package from the torn wrapping paper, a grin stretched across my face.
Though I had already played SoulSilver a few months earlier, I was eager to start fresh, and play as a different character with new Pokemon to control.
That's why I asked for it for my 18th birthday. I was as excited as a child, and instantly started my new game.
Being used to a dark, underwater atmosphere, I smiled a bit when I saw the pixelated Ho-oh flying across the HeartGold title screen, its wings sparkling in the sunlight.
I began my game with the name "Gold". Original, I know. But as a reader of the Pokemon Adventures manga, I wanted to name the game characters after their comic counterparts. My rival was named Silver, and I chose Cyndaquil as my starter.
After wishing my in-game mom goodbye, I began my virtual adventure. Though I've been playing these games since Red and Blue days, I've always experienced a thrill when each game starts.
PMD: Explorers Of Death V2It was one of those normal Friday evenings. My dad and I were at the mall, strolling around and gazing at the vast collection of stores. I was gleefully munching on a frosted cookie I had convinced him to buy for me by saying how much I loved him and I would only ask this one time. I still don't see how he hadn't already caught onto my not-so-hidden pattern.PMD: Explorers Of Death V23 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
After several minutes of aimless wandering, I finally found a store that caught my attention. GameStop. I squealed as much as when a little child gets a new puppy. Before even asking for permission, I raced into the store. My father regretfully followed me in.
I ran to and fro, carefully examining every game up for sale. Most of them I either already had, or they seemed tasteless and dull. I groaned, and was just about to give up hope when my eye caught a game I hadn't noticed before. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky. My spirits soared as I greedily snatched the game from the shelf and sprinted back towards my dad.

Okay, so this happened to me almost a week ago or so, give or take. I was on the bus on my way to school, playing my Soul Silver on my DS, when the bus lurched a little at a stop. This wasn't unusual, a lot of the city buses were in disrepair and their engines stalling was common. I only sighed in annoyance at this-until something slid from the back of the bus after its sudden stop, the object coming to a halt by my seat.
It appeared to be an abandoned Pokewalker, to my surprise. I bent down and picked it up to have a closer look, distracting myself with it while the bus driver tried valiantly to restart the engines, all other passengers around me groaning impatiently. Upon closer inspection though, I frowned that the little Pokewalker was fairly scuffed and dirty, but worst yet was the screen on the thing.
The clear plastic covering had been scratched badly, looking as if someone had done it on purpose with keys or something to the point that it would be otherwise near impossible to t

DRAINED. Her name was DRAINED. So here's how the story went after I got her...
DRAINED was strangely underleveled. She was only level 10, compared to level 100 for Duncan. I knew I would have to get out my AR for the level 100 cheat, to get it done quickly. So I went to my menu and saved, then shut it off. I switched Soulsilver with Action Replay, and clicked it on. I switched AR with Soulsilver when it was on the AR menu, and selected the cheat. Later, I had her at level 100 quickly. Or... so I thought. I nearly dropped my DS when I saw her level. It was at 666. So she was hacked for her max level to be that.
Great. "Looks like I'll have to get rid of her somehow... this looks REAL bad."
I put her into the PC, and noticed Release was gone. Only Move was
AshamedIt was one of those cloudy, rainy days. I was actually kind of glad for that, I hated the sun. Indoors is more of my thing. Anyways, before I accidentaly get off subject, my dad was going to this indoor volleyball thing. I didn't really pay attention to the details, as I don't care much for sports. I asked if I could stay in the car, and he said that was fine.Ashamed3 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
As soon as he left I locked the car, as I'm very paranoid. Then I tuned the radio to my favorite station and turned up the volume as loud as I could without busting my ear drums. Now that I had felt comfortable, I pulled out my Gameboy, which I had brought with me. And inside it was FireRed. I turned the volume on my GameBoy down, as I wanted to listen to the radio while I played my game.
It had been a while since I last played the game. When my save file loaded I found myself to be standing on Treasure Beach, that island below One Island. I opened the menu and clicked on my Pokemon, to find my normal party, except for a Dratini

Reluctantly, I handed over my Gameboy and Pokemon Emerald cartridge to my little sister. With a squeel, she turned it on and started playing. I sighed. I don't like her messing with my games, but she didn't have any video games of her own. Plus she was leveling up my own Pokemon for free, and you can't really beat that deal.
"Come out come out whever you are Pokemon~" I shook my head as my sibling spoke to the inanimate object. I grabbed my DS and popped Diamond in. I flew to Hearthome and decided to randomly make some Poffins for the heck of it. I had plenty of Oran berries to spare. I threw one into the mix.
I stirred the dough, careful not to burn it. I pride myself at how well I can make Poffins without burning them or over flowing them at all. I stirred with the same, perfect grace I always did-

I cursed as I stroked the mix too much and caused it to overflow. S

Entry 2: I just caught a Nincada today! She's really cute and just absolutely adorable, but my mom and sister get freaked out when they see her. I guess some people just hate Bug types, but I love them. I named her Nancy, I found that name really sweet and fitting for her. My other Pokemon don't really like her, but they'll just have to get used to her because I'm definately not letting her go.
Entry 3: Been a couple of days since my last entry. Nancy is doing absolutely great! She's very strong and amazing in battle! My other Pokemon have accepted her in their little group and like to be around her now. Even my mom and sister are starting to like her. I like to keep her out of her Pokeball, she really likes to explore. That's all I have to write.
Entry 4: Nancy is doing better than ever now! I've been training her a lot, even more
Pokemon Dead ChannelI was introduced to the video game realm a tad late than most other people. For most, if not all, of my early childhood I was isolated from other kids and I had next to no social interactions. My days were spent in a prison like school and my nights rotted away with mind numbing TV. Life was dull and boring, all I had were my stuffed animals and cheap plastic toys to talk to. That's when I got a Gamecube.Pokemon Dead Channel3 years ago in Horror More Like This
It was the christmas of 2003 I believe. I was overjoyed at having my own video game station. It came with the games Super Mario Sunshine, Pac Man World 2, and Pokemon Channel. Each of those games still hold a special place in my heart today. As soon as the Gamecube was set up and ready to go I began playing it immediately.
The first game I played was Super Mario Sunshine. This game is what got me hooked onto the Mario series. After playing it for hours straight and finally finding a level I just couldn't get past I turned to Pac Man World 2. Amazingly enough, I got stuck on level two.
Pokemon LoveLostTo cut a long intro short, I found a used copy of SoulSilver at my dear local GameStop. It was cheap, so I bought it with my own money, and I went home to play it, usual scenario. When I started to play it though, my little sister kept annoying me, begging for me to let her play it too. I told her I would let her play it later, and she pouted, as expected, but didn't argue any more.Pokemon LoveLost3 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
I started the game up, and everything seemed fine and dandy. That is, until the title screen visualized. It was solid black with the white words, "LoveLost". I was a bit disappointed that this was a hacked game, as I thought I really had gotten away with getting a cheap Pokémon game. Since I had it though, I thought I might as well play it. So I casually selected start.
When the game started up, it just took me straight to the screen where you choose your trainer's gender. Instead of a trainer sprites though, there was an Espeon sprite for the male, and Glaceon for the female. I thought for a bit, and
Event Gone WrongWhen I found out there was a new event for HG/SS that allowed players to get a Mew, I was excited to say the very least. I had never in any of my Pokémon games come to own a Mew, given the Nintendo events for them had since past and I wasn't about to risk screwing up a game with the Mew glitch. I was at my sister's when I found out and was unfortunately without my DS at the time, so I had to wait until I was back at my dad's to receive my Mew. Just about the moment I got back in the house, I immediately went off to get my new Pokémon; despite not being that big of a Pokémon fan anymore, the anticipation of receiving this rare and special bunch of data brought back some of the excitement I used to feel when I first started playing the games.Event Gone Wrong3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

"Why did my computer have to die ? It had my Crystal ROM file on it! Those poor Pokémon "
I looked down at the battered laptop in my hands. I had just switched laptops again. It seemed as though I went through them quite quickly. After all, this was the 4th one I had owned.
As a Pokémon fan, and a lover of the older generation games, I had downloaded a Crystal GB ROM onto my first laptop. I had hours of fun playing on it- I always transferred the file when it was time to get a new laptop computer so that my adventures with my beloved digital Pokémon could continue. It had been transferred to 3 laptops before this happened.

I pouted and gave up. I sullenly walked back to the store with him. As soon as we stepped inside, he handed me my DS. I quickly snatch

I had somehow convinced my dad to buy me a video game, so with a regretful glance at his wallet and a sigh he lead me into the store. I ran over to the on sale bin and found Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers Of The Sky sitting atop all of the others. I gasped, I had been wanting this game for so long! Eagerly, I picked up the game and ran over towards my dad asking if he could buy it for me. Seeing that it was half off, he happily agreed.
Both of us now content, we bought the game and drove home. The whole way back I
SavingBetas are always interesting, to put it in simplest terms. Have you even seen Beta Gold? That thing has so much beta stuff it could be a whole new game on its own. Unreleased Pokémon, scrapped events and plot, whole unused areas, tons of odd tidbits of unused data and text... It was really something. This coupled along with the fact that boredom is boring, and ROMs are free and easy.
I wasted about half of my day searching codes, finding out which beta element was where, how to hack this item, the whole package. To my PokéBeta unsatisfaction, most of the beta elements couldn't be found through codes and hacking. Well, from my very limited hacking skills that mainly relied on codes anyways.
After tinkering around though, I finally found some codes that unlocked unused text, which was my first big achievement of the day. Most was random and useless, and caused
Creepypasta - ParalyzedPokemon Diamond. My most beloved game ever, the one I had beaten within days of getting it. I was well on my way to catching every Pokemon, only a few left. Whenever I was bored, I'd whip out my old DS and have a wander around with the Poke Radar, looking for the ones that had escaped my attention. It was taking a really long time, but I refused to cheat, and I didn't want to trade for it either. It was roughly 1am. I have quite severe insomnia, making it impossible for me to sleep some nights. It was times like these that I would play Diamond to tire out my brain, and half the time it managed to induce sleep in me. Maybe it would work tonight.
Yawning softly, I booted up the game and went to try for 100 straight battles in the Battle Tower. I was at 48, but then lost to the Battle Tycoon. Damn him. I didn't have enough will power to try again, so I decided to instead go looking for Pokemon with the Poke Radar. I had never sear

I went into town with my friends one day, we were looking in the shops and buying stuff. Me and one of my friends saw a game shop and went in it, only us two though, none of the others were interested in games.
My friend saw the Nintendo games and called me over to have a look at them.
Then I saw a game on special offer, it was second hand but that didn't matter. It was Pokemon HeartGold, my friend had already got HeartGold, but I hadn't, so I bought it.
It was weird how it was only £1, but I soon got that out of my mind.
When I arrived home from shopping with my friends, I quickly grabbed my Nintendo and took SoulSilver out the game cartridge and slotted HeartGold in. The little scene played and brought me to the start menu. The person who had originally played this had a play time of 0:30 minutes and was a male and called DEATH. I shrugged, who ever had played this game must just be trying to scare young children. So I clicked on their data and the game played.

It started about... what, 2 months ago? Yeah, 2 months ago, about halfway through October. I was on Youtube, searching for random videos of who knows what when one of the people I subscribed uploaded a video. They were uploading a video that had scary video game music every day of the month until Halloween, and so far they had been uploading some pretty good and very unnerving music I had never heard before. So I was shocked to see they had uploaded Pokemon music.
I clicked on it anyways. It was the old, first version of the Lavender Town theme song. When I listened to the theme I remembered hearing it before, when I had played through the game. It honestly didn't sound scary at all to me, I actually even liked hearing it. But then I looked at the comments on the video.
Some users were talking about how Japanese kids had committed suicide on themselves after listening to this song. Interested,
