Portrait, first and second floor plans, cross sections, wall elevations, and side view of European-styled house 304, planned for a narrow town lot about 45' wide and 125' long, with alley access garage in the rear. Asymmetric styling is dramatic and picturesque, featuring a mix of exterior materials in an informal arrangement, with casement windows, half-timbering, and a clipped gable roof. Floor plans have living spaces to front and right, with master ste in the back left, and service area to rear right. Two more large bedroom suites upstairs with private baths and a shared commons and second laundry service, as well as a large bonus room over the garage. Plenty more space in the climate-controlled attic too. It's on the larger side at 3800 SF.

Complete plans, additional design service, modifications, and construction ready documents can be provided. Please contact me by email for fee discussion and more info at beauregard.francois@yahoo.com

Technique: All illustrations, floor plans, and other drawings done completely by hand with Faber-Castell pencils. Plans drawn in scale 1/16" = one foot.

Note: file updated on 10-13-14.

Four original designs for American Greek revival houses, very common throughout the Old southeast U.S., usually built in the 19th century by middle and upper class people, first time I try my hand at these symmetrical, rigid, classical designs. These are design fragments which show the front of the house, usually a center entry, and maybe formal dining to one side and study to the other, with great room and kitchen to the rear, possible wings to either side with master suite on one side and laundry/garage on the other, OR, on a narrow lot, the whole house stretches backward quite far with garage in the rear.

Front Elevation, first and second floor plans. Description of this home on the plan.

Technique: These three drawings are on one 8 and a half by 11 inch page (A4 size). The two floor plans are drawn in very small scale 1/16" = one foot, and the shaded front elevation slightly larger scale. I use various Faber-Castell pencils, 6H up to HB. This page exists exactly as you see it in one of my many binders filled with sketches, but with hand-lettering of course, not typeset. I use GIMP software to clean up the file, "tweak" the color a bit, and add labels, titles, and dimensions, that's all. This page "as-is" may serve as a model for a book page (hint hint.) The intention is to communicate the maximum information and an emotional response in a potential viewer, as related to a particular home plan idea. These sketches can easily be developed into a full set of plans for a luxury home in the U.S. or other markets.

A big one! At 2400 square feet on the first floor and a second, third, and basement floor to design, this will be a king-size house. Front elevation and floor plan drawn in pencil in scale 1/16th inch=one foot. Roughly ten hours draw time. Additional floors to be designed, garage to the left, possibly at an angle.
