Sometimes, things don’t happen then way that you want it to and it sucks, but don’t let one event in your life make you live your life differently. Don’t let that one thing in your life that went wrong, change the way that you see things. Don’t be sad that you are still alive, be happy an grateful that you are still alive. Everything will get better. I can promise you that it will. As long as you are trying your best, you can achieve anything - You can go far in life.
I get it, it could be one of those days, where your day starts off really badly and you keep hoping and hoping that sometime soon your way turn around for the better, but it doesn’t, right? The next time you have one of these days, remember that you have the ability to change the way your day turns out, if you put enough effort into it. You will be able to do it, just believe in yourself.
You are not worthless. Don't ever let anyone make you think
StereotypesThis journal was requested by a member who has been subjected to constant stereotyping. You know who you are dear, I hope this helps! ♥Stereotypes3 years ago in Personal More Like This
What's a Stereotype?
A stereotype is a common thought or belief about specific types of individuals (Example; Someone believes that all Goth's worship Satan, whilst it's fact that they don't).
Isn't that prejudice?
Actually, no. Stereotypes are based upon prior assumptions and commonly shared thoughts, whilst being prejudice is being judgmental of someone/thing without actually having any knowledge of them/it (Like judging a book by its cover).
So it's bullying then?
I think there's a very thin line between both bullying and stereotyping, as not only are both hurtful, but they're both wrong. Even if the stereotype is correct in some cases, constantly putting someone down based upon a preconceived pereption won't encourage them to feel any better about themselves.
And what's more, is that stereotyping can, an

Bullying is SeriousA teacher taught her class about bullying today, and gave them the following exercise to perform. She had the children take out a piece of paper, then told them to crumple it, stomp on it, and mess it up, but not to rip it apart.Bullying is Serious3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Then she told them that they had to unfold the paper, smooth it out and look at how scarred and dirty it was. She then told them to tell it they're sorry.
Now, even though they said they were sorry and tried to fix the paper, she pointed out all the scars they left behind. And that those scars will never go away no matter how hard they tried to fix it.
That is what happens when a child bullies another child, they may say they're sorry, but the scars are there forever. The looks on the faces of the children in the classroom told her the message hit home.

Nostalgia Critic TributeFor those of you who are unaware, Doug Walker is retiring as the Nostalgia Critic. Several people have already said this, so I'm just going to put my personal thoughts on him.Nostalgia Critic Tribute2 years ago in Personal More Like This
First off, I really liked the character of the Critic. Yes, he was a jerk sometimes, but you felt bad for him due to how pathetic he was. His many reviews were consistently hilarious, with his meltdowns quite entertaining to watch. He showed us bad movies without actually making us sit through them. He had an epic rivalry with the AVGN, even if he eventually lost. When Tommy Wiseau claimed copyright, his response was spot-on. I'm going to miss him

About D.H.S Why I started itAbout D.H.S2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I was going through DA looking for a Disney high school comic, found several but they weren't updating anymore, really rarely or weren't strictly comics, more fun pictures with neat ideas.
After some persuading from some of my watchers, (thanks guys) I decided to make my own. http://morloth88.deviantart.com/gallery/40412877
I set some rules for myself to make a story such as this more plausible.
No Magic or supernatural powers.
No Animal/ humanoid animal characters.
No magical characters
No super technology.
Exceptions: in references like on tees or if I drain the character of all it's said nonos and don't have to change the appearance and personality too much.
I basically try to reinterpret the Disney stories in a modern high school setting. A real fancy high school at that
Because it is

The fact I can start a fanfic library is still a bit mind-bogglingly unbelievable and ever so flattering and fun. "That's a good laugh, Crow. I've got a damn prosthetic and I drive better than youwait, what the hell are you slowing down for?"
"I'm not slowing down! I haven't even taken my foot off the gas!"
"Well what does it look like we're doing? Sara, pull over, for Christ's sake, I think we've got a flat tire."

Project PositivityAlright guys, I think we all need to cheer up a bit - This group has been far too depressing as of late, an while we are all for expression and support of our members, I think we all need to move away from the subject of our issues for awhile to enjoy what's good about life = Even if you can't see it clearly, there's always something good about it.Project Positivity3 years ago in Personal More Like This
So, let's all think positively for a few moments, shall we? What makes you smile; Laugh; Melts your heart like butter? It can be whatever you want it to be - from a marble to your pet to a joke you heard, just think hard for a few minutes to savoir those memories and the feelings created by it and just tell me all about it.
For example... The first thing that comes to mind for me is the new fan in my room (Of all things) - probably because it's messing my hair up. Anywya! My window has been jammed shut and I've been roasting like a chicken in a oven, and I've just got a new fan and it's just been great!
Now - what about you? What's made you
Hard Confessions(If this is TL;DR, please scroll down to read the bolded part, for this is very important to me.)Hard Confessions2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Most of you know me as a Christian artist with very conservative Christian ideals. I made a confession of faith when I was seven years old, and have tried to be a "good Christian" ever since. I was, and am, very passionate about presenting the Bible message in a contemporary way, but not in a way that patronizes or tricks its audience, but intrigues. I thought it was my way of "doing a favor" for Jesus.
Then I worked this summer as a missionary intern.
This summer wasn't so much an epiphany for me as it was putting a magnifying glass over questions and problems I already sort of knew were there.
I knew I had issues with forgiveness. I knew that I thought I was too bad, too broken, to be fixed unless I fixed myself. And I knew I was wrong.
I knew that the methods of repentance I'd believed in in the past only left me more broken and depressed.
I knew that I had an addiction. And that addict

Dystopia/Dystopian Literature LessonHey. Co-Founder Alpha-Drago-Boy here. I thought I'd give you guys a little lesson on what a Dystopia is and a little lesson on Dystopian literature.Dystopia/Dystopian Literature Lesson3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Dystopia- comes from two words in Greek. dys- bad and topos-l land. It's usually a society that is passed off as a utopia. Dystopian citizens are usually brainwashed and think that the government is a good thing while it is doing harmful things to it's community and it's people. The government is oppressive and usually totalitarian. For example: Usually most people refer the old USSR to the society the main character lives in. Dystopian societies often come from humans abusing the use of technology, post war countries that we see today, mutations of animals(you man see that in the book SIMS), and just oppressive people weaseling their way into the government and taking total control. And as I said before most Dystopian states are thought of totalitarian. Dystopian societies always have problems in a bunch of different departments in human

Benjamin vs. the soldier, Matthias:
Parallel to the story of "Androcles and the Lion":
• Fable Summary: "A slave named Androcles once escaped from his master and fled to the forest. As he was wandering about there he came upon a Lion lying down moaning and groaning. At first he turned to flee, but finding that the Lion did not pursue him, he turned back and went up to him. As he came near, the Lion put out his paw, which was all swollen and bleeding, and Androcles found that a huge thorn had got into it, and was causing all the pain. He pulled out the thorn and bound up the paw of the Lion, who was soon able to rise and lick the hand of Androcles like a dog. Then the Lion took Androcles to his cave, and every day used to bring him meat from which to live. But shortly afterwards b

At last, right?
I know, but I'm the kind of person who needs to plan before a big event.
Anyways! This contest's theme is "A pretend smile..." and if you're looking for more inspiration, read this or listen to this.
The deadline? Well, I think I want to give you until April....26th. It's a Thursday, which works for me.....okay. April 26th it is. I may extend it later, though, if people really want more time.
I don't think I have to tell you only one entry per person. Either poetry or prose, makes no difference. Okay?
There is now a folder in the gallery for entries.
I am so amazed that so many people donated prizes. Here is the official prize list:
Swan Princess 4 + Trailer! + 3D TheoryI have some exciting news for you all! It has come to my attention that there will be a fourth Swan Princess movie! It's a bit different but I for one am incredibly excited about it!Swan Princess 4 + Trailer! + 3D Theory2 years ago in Personal More Like This
It is called The Swan Princess Christmas and will be released I believe on November 6th of this year!
You can read more about it and see a trailer here - http://www.nestlearning.com/the-swan-princess-iv-christmas_p462491.aspx
Update: So the response I got was not shocking at all! Yeah, the 3D sucks. How many of you will still be watching it anyways?? I know I'm excited; I'll just have to somehow adjust or deal with the 3D.
swanprincessfan suggested they may be doing that to appeal to a new generation of audience. With movies like Barbie being in that style, younger people are more used to 3D.
Yes there are movies out recently in 2D that were big hits so you'd think they'd go ahead and go for it, but I guess they were wanting to try something new.
What do you think??

As this video explains: http://blip.tv/nostalgiacritic/no-more-nostalgia-critic-6353431
I actually do support this idea to go for a new production with a studio. I was getting worried that they would runt he character into the ground and I'm rather pleased they retired the character and will do a new show, it adds variety and makes something different. While we'll all miss seeing the weekly video shows of the NC screaming for 20 minutes, I totally support Doug's decision to do something new and regardless, he left a huge impact on internet culture that will never be reversed.
Who's onboard for this idea?
