As though that took so little wit
Contempt in your rolling eyes
Primacy poorly disguised
Don't order me to suck it up
For I drink from a bitter cup
You ask why I can't just 'move on'
But all my forward thrust is gone
Don't say that it's just a phase,
I still can't see past this maze.
The little fissure those eyes see
A chasm meant to swallow me
Don't claim that you can empathize
It reeks of haughtiness and lies
And all your pretty banal words
Swirl around like feral birds
You seem sure that their pecking
Makes my mind so much tougher
But that which doesn't kill
Will only make me suffer

While watching burden fall upon you.
If you can smile in the face of the doubting
And skip while they laugh at you.
If you can still love harder, with more passion than before,
While singing joy and offering peace.
If you can give without wanting more,
And your embrace is warmer than fleece.
If you can dream -- and make them real.
If you can think -- and hold the capacity to listen.
If you can look passed the ideal,
And be confident in beauty from within.
If you can befriend your enemy
Without contempt or scorn.
Stare down pride and vanity,
Leaving them powerless, and you - no longer torn.
If you can heal a wound with a kiss,
Or fight monsters with the shine of your light.
If you can trust Cupid's arrow to never miss,
Or swear you've witnessed angels take flight.
If you can keep your virtue,
And admire the sinew of your own curve.
Embracing the light within you,
Bursting forth with tremendous verve!
If you can walk with Queens and count yoursel

She hides in the shadows, sheilding her face,
this child never laughs, this child never smiles.
Longing the warmth of a mother's embrace,
her body is broken from wandering miles.
Her face stained with tears, from nights when she cries,
she walks throgh the darkness, screaming their names.
Despite all the pain, her hope never dies,
she's searching to find the place whence she came.
They left her behind, did they even care?
She calls to the ones that watch from above.
She falls to the ground as her strength does wear,
all she ever wanted was to be loved.
As she takes her last breath, the light shines through,
because the devil was an angel too...

"Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"!!
One of ThoseShe was one of those strange little girls, the kind who never fit in with the dress-wearing ones . . . the ones who played with dolls, braided hair for fun, and talked about being mommies one day. She preferred overalls to little pink sundresses and hiking boots to white Keds. She played with her brothers friends, the only blonde in the roaming pack of testosterone. One of Those6 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
With her hair pulled tight into a ponytail, she chased the ice cream man and outran the Heinburgs German Shepherds. She leapt over creeks and onto dog piles, having nothing to do with clean games.
The little girls she was predestined to play with called her names whenever she walked by their tea parties. Her revenge was quick, however. One well-placed hit during a cul-de-sac baseball game was all she needed to splatter their dresses and stuffed rabbits with Lipton and send them crying to their mothers.
At night she would escape from her family: a grandmother who said she would die alone, a mother who

I'm tired of the words coming from your mouth
It's just starting to get boring
I can predict the arguing
I can predict the yelling
I'm not even listening anymore
It all goes through one ear
And out the other
I'm starting to drift off
I'm seriously yawning now
Just shut up already
My eyes are closing
I really don't need this right now
I'm losing consciousness
I can't wait to do this again when I wake up

knock angels from heaven with that bow, all in the name of beauty. royal courts will dance in your name, for your songs.

so let the molto silenzioso night carry you home, and play.

Not for long
Losing track of the conversation
Nonsense trailing off
Made-up words slipping into the breeze
Sweaty, clammy grip on my mind
Won't stop sliding
Perfect sharp silver
In my mind's eye
Swallowed by blackness or an unnamed fear
Unseen foes with bright eyes
Staring at me through the darkness
I am not afraid of the dark
The secrets the darkness holds
Would be enough to drive you mad.
I've seen them all.

I hate you because you're everything I've never beenyou're going to be everything that I'll never become. I hate you because you are better, you are stronger, you are one fucking step above and there's nothing else I can do about it.
I hate you because you're the only one who can make me cry, you're the only one who can make me want to tear my skin apart and devour myself whole. You're the only one who can make me scream, you're the only one who can make me feel second-class, inept, like I'm not on top of the world.
Because I'll never be, not as long as you're around.
I hate you because you're always going to be ahead of me, you're always going to be what I'm not. I hate you because you make me feel like I'm taking a business-class flight and you sit one unit before, that fucking first-class ticket sticking out of your pocket. I hate you because I know you're always going to be better.

I can't imagine,

And if you were to go,
I don't know what I'd do.
Oh give or take a heartbeat,
There's something you should know,
Darling you mean far more to me,
Than any other soul.
Another day has passed,
Where you remain oblivious,
To my most darkened human aspects,
And the parts of me so hideous.
Because you think I'm the sun,
But in reality I'm the moon,
So lonely in the night-sky,
Craving your golden light again soon.
Oh promise me, promise me,
That you'll never go.
Oh I'll always feel more for you,
Than you could ever know.
And comfort me, comfort me,
I cannot lose you,
Take me and kiss me,
And say I won't have to...
Sometimes your aura,
Well it makes you seem tense,
But then I just wonder,
If you've finally seen sense.
I'm just a shadow,
Of a girl you once knew,
And when you discover me,
I don't know what I'll do.
Oh promise me, promise me,
That you'll never go.
Oh I'll always feel more for you,

Warehouse DreamsWarehouse Dreams5 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
As I walked through the warehouse, I struggled with a comparison to make of it. Nothing was working, until I stumbled on a small book that was in it.
How to Take Care of a Baby, it was titled.
"This warehouse is like a pregnant woman. It's just waiting for the magic inside of it to come to greet the world. I am it's midwife. I will help it." I whispered.
The warehouse had come to me through to me by way of mouth, and I had been told that there was a small cabin up north for sale for a small sum of eight thousand. I was told it was in great condition. So, like a fool, I bought it, and I became the owner of an abandoned warehouse.
It was large, and it was almost empty, just a few things lining the edges of it, like the book. What could I do with it?
I could have transformed it into an evil lair, perhaps. Kidnapping secret agents as I played with my newest plan to conquer the planet, and listen to them yell and scream as they tried to free themselves.
That could have worked out wel

DesireI seem strong,Desire5 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
But hardly still.
I feel so weak,
When I'm alone,
Desire is there
He is empty,
Offering no comfort.
Yet he stays there,
Like Death over a sickbed.
When with friends,
Happy times make him fade away,
Within himself and into the background.
Happiness is stranger than Desire,
But Happiness is quicker to leave,
And though they go
Hand-in-hand, forever intertwined,
They are not friends,
Are not partners.
My Desire that I know
Is best friends with Sorrow
All three attack at once,
Leaving me wishing to collapse - Desperation,
Into the arms of the one I love - Desire,
But realizing I am alone - Sorrow.

Drabbletation - The Bible vs. Your Mind Experience teaches us: individuals immersed in drunkenness, promiscuity, hatred, etc. are incapable of thinking clearly about religion or anything else. The Bible prohibits many things that weaken the intellect, but not a single thing that strengthens it. If the author(s) wanted Christians to be stupid and naïve, Scripture would probably encourage us to get drunk, fight, and fornicate. If Christians were meant to be morally upright but still credulously gullible, the Bible could have at least instructed them to shun learning and cultivate ignorance. In fact, when we actually examine the words of Scripture, they command the exact opposite.Drabbletation - The Bible vs. Your Mind3 years ago in Philosophical More Like This
