Bla bla bla. Independence. 1776. America. John Adams. Hooray.
So there's been this "internet declaration of independence" that's been going around the web recently, and to be honest I think it's a load of bull. As much as I love free speech and rights and etc, I simply can't get behind it, and it disturbs me that so many companies ARE getting behind it. There's just too much entitlement from people on the internet who think they "deserve" everything, and it's really beginning to creep me out. I'm all for abolishing SOPA and ACTA other things like it, but I just can't in good faith get behind the "internet declaration of independence." Sorry.
What's with this weird anti 4th of July backlash that's going on? All the people complaining about the "patriotism" and stuff. I know it's always existed, but I've never seen it this massive before. Do people really just not understand the point of holidays? It's lik

Honestly didn't see that one coming, but I am happy nonetheless. While the first game wasn't very remarkable, I just love the art style and the stark contrast the game presents compared to every other post-apocalyptic-near-future-world that exists. Chock me up to interested.
Didn't see this one coming either. Quite surprised, but personally don't care. I've never really paid attention to fighting games much, yes even Super Smash Bros. I have a feeling this will be one of those games that we think will be amazing, but the newest generation of kids won't understand why they should care (kinda like DuckTales).
Sidenote: Quite disappointed with the way they handled the demonstration by bringing out a woman to play multiplayer with and "destroying" her while simultaneously saying shit like "just give up... it will be over soon." Scripted or not, that scene was appalling.

I'm... actually quite disappointed by this as
Concept Art - Artist Interviews and Features #1Hello everyone! I will be updating the journal every week with artist interviews! This month I am featuring Concept Artists (and maybe the next month too~). I will put these journals in a folder in Improvement-Club so you can always find them and won't simply 'get forgotten about' as I post journals. This week I am featuring :iconTylerEdlinArt:TylerEdlinArt and :iconNinjatic:Ninjatic!Concept Art - Artist Interviews and Features #11 year ago in Art Features More Like This
For those who don't know much about Concept Art. Concept Art are visual representations of ideas or designs, mainly associated with games, films or even comics. But it isn't limited to them, they can simply be representations of a world or character created from the artist themselves. Concept Art can range of vast galactic worlds to character designs to schematics for a machine, it shows us an infinite worlds to explore and the beauty of what the mind can create.
I hope you all enjoy and benefit these interviews!

The Role of Men in Geek SocietyThis is a reposting of a tangent I went off on over on Twitter the other day (with some extra clarification added to make it a little more cohesive). I felt that in the wake of all this GamerGate/Feminism/Women in games/comics/geek culture stuff going on that I should at least talk about men’s relationship to it all. So here ya go!The Role of Men in Geek Society1 year ago in Personal More Like This
It's not that harassment of men doesn't happen, it's that women are far more likely to get harassed and have it be gendered and much worse (source: http://time.com/3305466/male-female-harassment-online/ ). I've never been harassed because I'm a man. But nearly every one of my female colleagues have been harassed because they're women. Men don't get harassed the same way as women. Their insults are usually directed at opinions, not their gender. Women, on the other hand, usually get BOTH.
It also seems like there's more harassment now than before, but that's because there are more women IN those geek stratus and we ha

9 reasons to appreciate ACRYLICS1. UNIVERSALITY - Acrylic are probably the most versatile of paints. You can thin them with water and use as watercolor (they will remain permanent upon drying, unlike watercolor), apply them in full strength, create textures.9 reasons to appreciate ACRYLICS3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
2. COMBINABLE - This medium is very suitable to be combined with anything you wish - watercolor, ink, pencils, oils... Free your imagination and experiment!
3. NUMEROUS SUITABLE SURFACES - Acrylics can be used on paper, canvas, wood, metal and many more surfaces (this is true, even though they don't adhere towards some surfaces as promptly as oils). This is a great advantage, when you get used to this medium, you can paint at whatever material you've got available.
4. DON'T STINK - That's right, all of you that have experienced headaches caused by oil paint might just appreciate an acrylic vacation!
5. FAST DRYING TIME - Composition doesn't seem right after you put down your first layer? This is not a problem, wait half an hour
BITCHASS SANDY!We don't get a lot of coverage on Hurricane Sandy here in Australia, like.. we do, but its not as in depth as it should be in my opinion. But I was just reading about it today after talking to TheOkkwardTurtle who unfortunately lived in areas where Sandy came by. But the brave Okky went out into the storm to help peeps in need, the poor boy even got bruises and cuts from this whole deal. I didn't realise the storm was THAT bad, with over 100 deaths now omg.BITCHASS SANDY!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
This may sound weird but just a few practical survival tips from Ry, well these are just things I heard but sounds legit.. kinda. I've never actually been in a disaster situation before, well besides from that one time when I broke up with my ex (OH SNAP!) but yeah Um here goes, remember how people say when there is an earthquake you should hide under a table, apparently thats not true anymore, you should actually hide between two strong cupboard/wardrobe, so if the ceiling collapse then you got two strong structure to protect yo

After a whole lot of effort, Claire Hayes (producer) managed to get on the phone with Valve's head of legal, and not only do we now have their express approval to make the film, AND to raise money for the production (!!!), but we even got praise for what we've done so far!
I love the smell of victory in the morning. It smells like napalm.

1950 - Laposky's Oscilon
Our story begins in 1950 with Benjamin Francis Laposky, a sign painter and army veteran who was also an artist and mathematician. In addition to getting a kick out of creating Magic Square Puzzles, Ben created what is arguably the first set of computer generated images, "electrical compositions" using a cathode ray oscilloscope:

Another ferguson thingEven if the details were impossible to know, even on the basis of "unarmed black child killed by white cop", there would still be reason to believe he was murdered and that it had to do with racismAnother ferguson thing9 months ago in Personal More Like This
a big thing I'm seeing in the dA community right now is "but I don't KNOW the details!! How can I have an opinion!!"
You can have an opinion based on: the fact that the details are unclear when you check "credible" news sources. That's not an accident. And the fact that it was white on black violence. That is important.
People don't seem to understand that we have been witnessing case after case after case of "white/non black cop kills unarmed black person". I don't know about your countries but here, it happens like clock work and the cops get off without any consequences and that. Is not. An accident.
The details hardly matter when we've seen the SAME THING happen before, time after time after time. Stop trying to nitpick this ONE situation when the issue is M

A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

If you've ever read anything in your life, watched a movie or followed any sci-fi you were influenced by Asimov, even if you didn't know it.
Biochemist. Professor. Historian. Author. Pioneer. Even humorist. Asimov was a very prolific artist writing over 500 books, essays, short histories, scientific articles and even a spoof chemistry article which confused more than one. Asimov wrote 8 hours a day everyday, armed with nothing more than typewriters for most of his life.

I had set up my cricut explore the way the instructions showed, but the light wouldn't read the sensor marks from the printer. When I adjusted the print settings, I was able to get it to read the sensor marks everytime and cut the material. That took care of one issue.
(designs made by :iconprepawsterous: and :iconmiss-glitter
The second issue was that Cricut design space wouldn't work in my google chrome so I used internet explorer *twitch* not a fan...at all....and the software kept crashing....sooo yay for Mozilla Firefox. That didnt crash. I set the cricut to cut vinyl sticker sheets and ran it through twice to completely cut through the material. and here is the result!:

Have you ever studied Art at school or University? Are you self taught?
I do study at animation school. But for illustration I'm learning it by myself. I was helped by my partner with drawing, she is the one who taught me many things about illustration. She is at aquashe.deviantart.com we are trying to improve our art together.
What appealed to you the most about being an artist?
Hmm... well when I see someone looks happy watching my art or buy my works, it is the most interesting thing in my life as an artist.
What is the process you go through when designing a piece of work till it's final state?
I need more than a day and it might took 10 hours to finish one work, I usually imagine things, when I got an idea I might search for some references to help build my image, and continue d
PE: 5 reasons to believe in yourselfSuccess is not a measure of how much money you earn or how popular you are, rather, it is being able to find your passion - one that makes you happy and ultimately, one that you would be happy to leave as your legacy. To make a step forward to reach your dream takes smarts and guts but why couldn't you? Here is five reasons why you can.PE: 5 reasons to believe in yourself3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
1. Everyone was born equal
More-less, this is true, some people are born more challenged than others but we all possess skills and ability to learn. It is possible to build something out of nothing if we really want to. It all comes down to our preferences and decisions.
"Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent."
2. Overcoming your fears
By constantly challenging yourself, you can get rid of fears that used to follow you. You will no longer be worried, you'll know you can count on yourself.
"If you think you can, you can. If you think you can't, you're right."
