As the title goes, due to getting ahead with some [Susicivus] concepting and book work I figured it'd be fun to hold a contest of the sort in lieu of such!
With the title to boot as well, the idea would be to choose one or more of my characters from [Susicivus] and draw them as you'd you! Either straight up front as is, your own personal interpretation though interpretations can go with whatever tickles the fancy however naturally there is sort of a boundary between a creative interpretation and one that's a tad...far-fetched - i.e. as long as some aspects remain loyal to the character you want to do up
All in all, whatever tickle the fancy!
As I've had to put a lot of extensions on for this as a whole, this should really be the last one -

POCKY DAY FEATURESGreetings all friends, watchers, and random passer-bys!POCKY DAY FEATURES3 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Today on November 11th (11/11), there is a little random event going on in Japan in which we call it "Pocky's Day".
Q: What's a Pocky's Day?
The company that produces the snack Pocky has set 11/11 as "Pocky's Day" just to celebrate with randomness.
Conspiracy of snack companies, I know lol
You can check out their website, and see how much derp they have done so far!
I'm just joining the bandwagon to celebrate this random event for fun and have some excuses to eat pockys lol
As I have posted on my poll few days ago, I'm going to keep my words and hold "POCKY DAY FEATURES"
Anyone is welcome to join - all you gotta do is submit a deviation that's related to Pocky, and give me the link to it (you can just leave it as a comment on this journal or note me.). Then I'll be more than happy to feature it for you on my journal!
Artistic insecurityIt's funny how people seem to think that I'm all that great, just because I make the art I do, and I voice my opinion here in an occasional journal-article. Like any other artist out here, I have my own doubts about my art, and I have a hard time facing them every now and then. I'm not perfect. I'm far from where I want to be. And lately I'm quite uncertain of where I want to go with my art. It's something that is bothering me quite a bit, and blocked my creativity.Artistic insecurity2 years ago in Personal More Like This
When I started doing art again, somewhere at the start of 2010, I used to very very insecure about my art. I never joined contests because I'm terribly afraid of failing. Honestly, I would feel bad about myself for weeks if I didn't at least end up in the honorable mentions. I never made tutorials because I was afraid one of DA's members would come up and say to me: "Why are you teaching this shit? You don't know anything about art!". And although I never liked to do fanart, I wouldn't probably have dared to do it either. A

OK, I can put the SpongeBob fanboy inside of me aside and do a decent review. OK?
Well, I saw this movie at the movie theater on opening night with my friends (Yes, I have friends outside of the internet. Who knew?)
And so, I`m going to do this BLACK NERD STYLE
I`m gonna tell you the good, I`m gonna tell you the bad, and I`m gonna tell you the NERDY!
Or in this case SpongeBob Fanboy-y
More animated parts then CGI
What I mean is, most people were worrying on how this movie is gonna turn out because it`s not traditional like the last movie. Trust me, the CGI part only comes up at the end. And it doesn't last as long as the animated parts.
This is personal for me, but I`m a HUGE fan of SpongeBob AND Superhero so this whole movie just feels like a gigantic love letter to me

how to self harmBefore you self harm in any way, you should probably know what you're getting into. Before you make that cut, please keep in mind that you will find the pain release and blood strangely addictive. You may think to yourself that you'll be able to control it, that you won't let it get out of hand. You may think that you can just stick to a few small, shallow cuts here and there that won't be deep and that will heal quickly and easily. But you're wrong. You can't control it, it's impossible to control. It controls you. It's an addiction. The cuts will get deeper, they'll scar. They'll take weeks to months to heal and years for the scars to actually begin to fade. You'll find that soon, you depend on it. You can't go more than a few days without cutting. You'll go crazy as your skin itches and burns, your hands shake, your head pounds, your vision goes blurry as you try to keep your mind off of it, try to hold back from giving in. But you will. Here are the steps of my new painting "The Chase"
The first step is a black and white sketch, very rough, just to establish the composition. I often try to place main objects in a scene following the rule of 3ds, this gives balance and harmony to the picture.
Next step is refining the shape and form. I made the ship on the left more white, to show that he is away from the ship in front. It is the rule of the air perspective. I also refined the sky.
I dodged the ship behind a bit more, like he's in the thin haze. Then i started to detail the sea. I wanted the light to come through the waves to give the water that wonderfull inner glowing. I studied reference photos of the wawes to understand the physics of the sea water. Notice how i painted reflections of the ship on the left side.
When i finished the main forms i bega

I'm tired of dealing with masculine stupidity and I am tired of being singled out BY men for the things I do. I've been used, I've been abused, I've even been MANIPULATED by a bunch of jack asses and it's gotten to a point where I can only see men as friends and nothing more. I will say that I have a girlfriend who I've gotten VERY close to, and you wouldn't BELIEVE the understanding she and I have for each other. Personally, she's probably the best relationship that I've had in a LONG time. She isn't abusive or manipulative despite being crazy as hell (the good kind). She doesn't even complain when I quiet down to listen to her about her day. She tends to rant, and I'm not so sure if I've told her this, but I think it's cute, and I'm happy that she has a mind of her own and that she's open to expressing her opinion on certain matters. A SENTIMENTAL LOOK BACK ...On my Facebook Fan Page, I was discussing the importance of getting a "Light Box" with an aspiring artist named Amber. As I was typing an answer, a memory from out of the blue hit me, and I was so glad it did. It was bittersweet, but I wanted to share it with you. Here's what I wrote:A SENTIMENTAL LOOK BACK ...2 years ago in Personal More Like This
"They aren't that expensive. You can get a good one for fifty bucks - and they last forever. I still use the same one my mother got me when I was 13! Back then they were huge, cumbersome metal boxes. I'd love to get a new one, only the sentimentality won't let me. Here's a true story: The lights on my lightbox seemed to last forever. From the time I was 13, until I was in my mid-thirties, not a single light ever burned out. As I said earlier, my mother had given it to me, to support my interest in animation when I was young. The week that she passed away, the lights went out on the lightbox. I haven't been able to bring myself to replace it. I'm not sure I ever will."

Hopefully these idiots will leave the fandom now that they know that the Crewniverse hates their actions.
Maybe, just maybe, the fandom will actually become tamer.

Five years ago, Sunday night was a time of action for the financial world. Top officials desperate to band-aid an oncoming meltdown would use the weekend to find a suitor for distressed firms before the markets opened on Monday. Bear Stearns got sold to JPMorgan Chase on a Sunday night. Washington Mutual and Wachovia and Merrill Lynch sold on a Sunday too. Mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac went into conservatorship over the weekend.
But there was no weekend shotgun wedding for Lehman Brothers, and their ensuing collapse triggered the final stage of a crisis that we’re still feeling today, when you look at 7.3 percent unemployment, the lowest labor force participation rate si
My thoughts towards higher educationOne message that I've gotten quite frequently is that some of work is subpar or could be better if I took some time off from my various projects and went to college and learned something more about the medium. For the most part, I'd ignore them. Even though I've almost always had my opinions towards college and university and they've always been strong, and yet I've always been hesitant to tell even my closest friends about them. Me, a critic, who spends most of his time giving opinions on things, is hesitant on telling his opinion on something. No joke, I was more willing to tell my opinions on circumcision - a topic that delves into the waters of both religion and gender - before I was willing to even say why I didn't go to college. Why is that? Because even in real life people seem to get offended when I tell them that I don't want to go, or it isn't right for me, or whatever. Let me say that I am not critiquing your life style or your choice to go to college. If you chose to go toMy thoughts towards higher education1 year ago in Personal More Like This

now I am wondering where she has been all my life .

never could find it true the eyes of a man
She is amazing to me
When She talks to me, I feel that I am alive.
Her voice is like the sweetest thing I ever heard.
Her attitude is to never buy a cage for a bird.
she has this smile which makes me melt
it's like every time she looked at me she new exactly how I felt.
Her pure hart, filled with honesty and care for the world
makes me want to embrace and protect her from all the hurt.
She is amazing to me
A message from her: I think you are THE shit!!
I couldn't believe it, but really she did!!
I had to let her know that I feel the same,
I'm a bit new to this so I don't know the rules to play the game.
Did try to be upfront and honest about my feelings for her
and the sweetheart that she is, she tried to gently let me down without hurti

Gay Pride (Rainbow - Gay, Gay Men, Lesbians, and sometimes the entire Queer community. The rainbow represents acceptance of all sexual orientations.)
Labrys Lesbian Pride (Purple with Labrys in inverted black triangle [different versions exist] - Lesbians, women, and feminism, and gynephilic people who identify as female. Labrys became a symbol of lesbians and feminists due to the popularity of a female empowerment publication called Labrys Magazine. In addition, the black triangle is a symbol of lesbians due to the fact that many lesbians were forced to wear it in concentration camps during the Holocaust under the idea that they were "asocial" and did not conform to heteronormativity).
Bisexual Pride (Pink, Purple, and Blue - Bisexuals and sometimes all multisexual/non-monosexual/multiple gender attracted people.)
Thoughts on Sponge Out of Water trailerWelp, I can safely say the new SpongeBob movie trailer has restored my faith in not only the movie, but the show as well. The hand-drawn segments were hilarious and really felt like the classic era of the show, even if I think the backgrounds look a little strange. The live action sequences? To be honest, I have pretty mixed thoughts on them. They weren't bad, but they just felt a little... generic. Some of the jokes feel like they've been done before, but I guess they could've been worse. The characters, despite looking a bit like toys, look great in CGI, and I'm so glad they didn't go the chipmunk route and make them look like actual sea creatures. THAT would've been a turn-off. At first I thought the idea of the characters becoming superheroes was really stupid, but after seeing them in action, I could now go as far as saying it's one of the reasons I'm excited for this movie.Thoughts on Sponge Out of Water trailer2 years ago in Personal More Like This
