The stunning Sun-Dial peak looming above Lake Blanche in the Wasatch back-country. I was pummeled by a furious summer lightning storm a matter of minutes after this was taken. To learn more check out this older pic:
This was taken a few years ago on the summer solstice. It seemed nature was celebrating her longest day of the year in her own fashion as the sky exploded with color. I can only wonder if the sailors aboard the boat were as impressed with the showing as I was.
Found this in some old images I was perusing through and thought it should be shared.
So my friend Evan took me up here.... He's lived here for about a month and I didn't ever think to check this place out after living here for 4 years! It just goes to show how much there really is to see in Colorado. This is only a few mile drive and a 3 mile hike from my house... places close to home make me happy now with gas prices where they're at. The sunset kinda fizzled out on this shot.. there is a lot of smog in the air from all the forest fires around the country.

A quick winter storm moved over Breckenridge, Colorado, leaving behind 31 inches of snow overnight. Soon the streets will be busy with eager tourists and locals alike, heading for the lifts to get their first runs. For now though, this sleepy little street is silent, except for the sound of falling snow.
