Conspiracy Theory To Those Who Mock ConspiraciesI am glad mainstream media, thinkprogress, left wing nutballs, neocons, and the rest of the pragmatic science thumper community showed their true colors as to what 'good conspiracy theory' is.Conspiracy Theory To Those Who Mock Conspiracies3 months ago in Personal More Like This
Vladimir putin goes 'missing' for a few days which leads to the general public (who mock conspiracies) to begin speculating on where Vlad wen't.
It's super juicy, and filled with CIA agents, COINTELL PRO, Space Aliens, Government coverups, and TMZ.
These are the 'conspiracies' of the general dumbed down public who thump science text books and brag about how "SCIENCE!" and pragmatic they are. They think all peer reviewed journals are 100% accurate "SCIENCE!" and that BigPharma does not cover up corruption,
They think government conspiracies are "to ridiculous for to many people would be in on it" but Vladimir Putin goes "missing" for a few days and suddenly they turn into "conspiracy theorists"
Where is Vladimir Putin? What we know about the Russian president's "disappearance."

I went and saw Dita Von Teese's show last night and it was the most incredible and beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life. If she comes to your town, GO. Don't hesitate because of ticket prices (which are reasonable, in my book), and JUST. FUCKING. GO. It's worth every cent. I might write more about the show itself when I have more time, but really I'm just updating this journal to a) get the old one off my profile and b) tell you a brief synopsis of how I got a print to Dita.
So, I was going to give her this drawing, but I ended up selling the original for the price of a ticket to her show because I would have been too depressed knowing that I'd missed possibly my only chance to see her perform live. I still wanted her to have art from me, but since it was the only drawing of her that I had in my possession I ended up having to make a print of it in lieu of giving her an orig

Gun Problem vs Criminal ProblemI was debating with a friend. She said if she can choose what is the greater problem as far as homicides go- between "guns" or "criminals" She said that the gun is the greatest issue and that we need an assault weapons ban!!Gun Problem vs Criminal Problem2 years ago in Personal More Like This
If anyone knows me knows that I am 100% against gun bans, and other than for emotional arguments I see no logical reason behind them.
I will say why I am against gun bans, there are according to several different reports, 120-160 million gun owners in America… there are 113,000 people shot every year on average [the CDC statistics says 100K but say they take out the average 13,000 people shot with BB Guns each year..] of the remaining 100K … 18K of those are suicides… so just said that 82K people each year are shot by someone else either by accident or on purpose.
What this says is that 1 person in every 1,200-1,600 people who own guns will use the guns in an irresponsible manner, that means a tenth of 1% of people will use the guns wrong and that 99.9% of people

The Capture vs. The Pose
portrait of a WW2 vet...
When a subject poses to have his or her photograph taken, the subject tries to project a message about himself or
herself by how he or she “poses”, by the attitude of his or her body language or facial expression.
If the subject is posed by the photographer, the body pulled and prodded into the desired angles,
the facial expression “directed”, it is the photographer who is intending to communicate a message.
In either case, posing or posed, there is undeniably something “false” in the representation.

I. Choose up to five (5) of your favorite original story characters that will embark in this role-play. If you don't have five (5) then leave them blank (or create a character on the spot!) Be sure to give a little description of them:
1. Azure - short, mute and Irish. Jarett's lover.
2. Jarett - ifr'tal. moron. Azure's lover.
3. Maine - hedonist. wants in jarett's pants.
4. Joseph - zombie. is totally unaware of his predicament. a nice guy.
5. Æolus - scientist and beastmaster. kind of fat. hates Jarett. doesn't really love anyone except his 'daughter,' Calliope, who is either a small child or a monstrous t-rex-like beast.
II. One of your characters decides to make a grand entrance into a random tavern. How does that go? Pick either Character One or Character Four :
Oh, it has to be Azure. Joeyboy's too young xD And dead. Anyway, he'd probably already be drunk when this happens. He'd slam open the super-cool swingy doors (what) and st

It's been a great experience here on Deviantart, I've met so many great artist who have not only become good friends, but helped myself grow as an artist as well. Fire breathing Dragonflies, magical fish with antlers, smiling cacti, and dancing alcoholic beverages sounds pretty odd when you say it out loud, but that pretty much sums up my gallery.
In all seriousness though, I want to thank all of you for the contributions and commissions. Starting out as an artist has been one of the most difficult things to do for me, but you've all made it both a fun and enjoyable experience. I still have much to learn, but I definitely want to get back into sculpting and painting when I can afford the materials too someday.
I felt rather bad I had to give up some of the art trades previously due to college, so, I wanted to make an event where everyone is welcome! I will be doing a Thanksgiving colla

Yeah, I guess it is much harder to sell a piece of literature than an image in some media. I am not putting visual art down, heaven forfend. But I do want to talk about the written word. I do not derive any sense of validity from Faulkner; I have an abiding love for the late drunk.

Medicine of the Mind?I have been contemplating my own mortality increasingly lately. I have children but do I live for them alone? Perhaps that is what I should do. However, If I am so emotionally volatile that I cause harm... But wait what if things improve. I have twenty-seven years of doctors tilting at windmills. Is this juat sour grapes. Have you actually looked at therapies, outcomes, and compulsively living life? Do npt play the religion card because I am an atheist.Medicine of the Mind?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
From an unexpected place, I have a vast improvement. In the end it goes too. "So what should I do", I ask myself? Is the situation so dire; try living without hope or a small fraction of your mind barely sufficient to read and know just enough to remember having an avocation. All of the things I like most about life, the reasons I have to live; you onlyhave to adjust. Lets say i blind you, why should you be angry. When you know your hearing is going next, just knuckle down. Touch, love, perspective. What is this ludicrous obsession wit

"Scars can come in handy. I have one myself above my left knee that is a perfect map of the London Underground."—Prof. Albus Dumbledore
Early life becomes an exploration of invisible parameters, circles beyond circles, as one pushes out to test the boundaries of safety. There is one’s bedroom, one’s home, neighborhood, school and town, state and nation. Early on, maps become important documents – declarations of being and rights and privileges. In the art world, throughout history, maps have been a constant measure of human progress, from the Phoenecians recording their trade routes over 2000 years ago, or pre-Columbian times in which map

Early statuary depicted one’s god’s, and since the medium is
as much the message as the visual message itself – the medium had
to proclaim: This god is as forever lasting as this stone that His

As the poet Shelley so poignantly noted in Ozymandias.
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shatter'd visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamp’d on these lifeless things,

about the guy who designed it [bio from wikipedia] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Jackson_(USA)
Steve Jackson (born c. 1953) is an American game designer. After working for many years at Metagaming Concepts designing such games as Ogre and The Fantasy Trip, he left to found Steve Jackson Games (SJ Games) in the early 1980s. He designed many of the games published by SJ Games, such as Car Wars, GURPS, Munchkin and many others.
He is not some super top secret agent or anything. I am sure the guy who made the game had insider knowledge though.
Anyone who studies history or knows how the world works could make this game. But there are a few eerie examples of events drawn on some of the cards,, like the World Trade Center being hit with an airplane, as well as the pentagon being also hit with an airplane, it looks more like a bomb.

From Shanghai to London; Moving onHi guys,From Shanghai to London; Moving on3 years ago in Personal More Like This
A few updates:
I will be taking my final exams in a couple of weeks from now, and after graduation on the 30th June I'll leave Shanghai, after 7 seven years living here, for London. I have been offered a place at London's University of the Arts, a.k.a Central Saint Martins, which I'm really excited about!
I can't wait to move on, loved it here but it's great to carry on with life, discovering new places, and finally being able to study what I love.
Otherwise, I started a donation pool to get myself a Premium Membership here on DA. I would really like to be able to get it to be able to receive critiques, change my username, and more.. It's been quite a long time that I've been on DA by now, about... 6 years? I used to have another account. Anyways. It's not a very big deal, I would just appreciate your support.
I am now starting to try and keep this account more regularly updated. I draw a lot but I don't post much yet. I'll see how things go in the next few months, a LOT is ab
