"Shepard are you going to be ok?"
Liara looked at her love, Commander Tiberius Shepard, still sporting scrapes and bruises all over his face from the Battle for Earth that had ended just over two months ago. There was something off about the way his face was set it was stony and cracked at the same time, like he was doing his best to put on a brave face but couldn't quite get the motion down.
"No Liara, not yet. I won't be ok for a long time, but this this will help."
"Ok, just remember I'll be there in front, just look at me ok?"
Tiberius answered with a nod and a quick kiss on Liara's forehead before turning to make his way towards the podium on the other side of the curtain. He was still limping from the battl

"The waste's gonna eat you up."
Veronica's hood slid back over her head as she was pushed gently against the wall, and Cass roughly ran a hand over her chin, a sly smile her on face, a hint of whiskey on her breath. "But that's all right. I can protect you. Wouldn't want anything hurting your pretty little ass, now would we?"
Veronica offered her a smile despite her reddening cheeks. "Guess I'll hold you to that, if you can even remember you said it later on."
Cassidy smirked, leaning in closer, her lips just moments from the other woman's. "I'm not that drunk, baby."
Veronica was used to fighting, to combat. They all were. But it was nothing compared to the war going on now for Hoover Dam.
The Courier had almost reached the Legate's camp; he had most of his companions and a Securitron army at his beck and call, so in their minds there was little to worry about, considering the circumstances. He'd had Veronica and Cass remain behind to keep track of the NCR movements, and pr

Chapter 1 Hunt
"Someone should learn how to drive," Garrus Vakarian thought shaking his head while he investigated the damaged Mako in the cargo hold of the Normandy. He held a great deal of respect toward Commander Shepard, but her driving wasto put it mildlyreckless. Mako was designed to be used in extreme conditions, but at times he thought that Shepard was asking too much from the vehicle and it was his job to fix anything her driving broke. "Next time she comes around, I'll tell her to stop driving like mad, I sure will," Garrus thought.
"Hi there," Shepard's voice jarred him out from his thoughts. "How's she looking?"
Garrus started to turn to face herhe fully intended to speak his mind about the matterbut she was standing much closer than he had expected and for a reason he couldn't understand her hand, which was resting right next to his, gave him a pause. He had never really paid any attention to her hands be

"I'm surprised you're so very interested in my story. At this point, most people would be focused only on regaining the Platinum chip, and the monetary reward. I can understand, as I am a bit of an aficionado for pre-war information myself, but that was because I lived during the time period. Must we tarry over these things, when I've given you very clear instructions?"
Mr. House had a charming voice, just as the ghoul at the Old Mormon Fort had mentioned. Yet his half-condescending tone really irked me. Though he wasn't up-front with it, I knew the man...er, computer? whatever he was, really found himself above me. Just an hour earlier, he'd explained the situation, Benny, everything to me, requesting I go after Benny and get the package I was paid to deliver.
But I couldn't help it. A curious person and someone who was mystified with pre-War memorabilia, and here I was talking to yet anoth

"Your investigation is over, Garrus" Executor Pallin barely finished the sentence before walking away, waving his hand in dismissal.
The words stung; abject failure over damned classified documents. A thin growl escaped his throat at the realization. He'd be demoted. Not only for failing to find evidence but also for butting heads too often with Executor Pallin. Hot blood flushed under his plating, making them slightly swell and push against his armor. The heat pointed his thoughts into sharp accusations. How dare he! Executor or not, no one should forbid access to critical evidence. No way in hell was he going to let Pallin step over him on the largest case he had ever received. Footsteps

A child is a child regardless of race, sex, or spices. Troublesome they may be they are often times full of wisdom and should not be ignored.
Anna had woken up in the middle of the night when she heard what only could have been called shivering from the elite Tokuamalee who had rescued her the day previous. When she quietly walked over to the bed she found out that was exactly what the Elite was doing. Had her mind been any older she would have blanched at the seemingly human action, but because she was still young she instead hauled the blankets she had curled up in back over to the bed and had tossed them as best as she could over the large elite. It was also then in her sleepy haze that she climbed up into the corner of the bed and curled back up and drifted back into her sleep.
Tokuamalee was not aware that he had fallen asleep before Anna had gotten out of the shower. In fact most of the events of the day before were hazy when he first got up. So his i

Chapter 1: New Arrivals
The sun was blazing hot against Relic's face, searing her lips and causing her eyes to water. She didn't know that anyplace could be worse then where she had just come from but it seemed she was wrong.
She felt a slight tickle in the base of her throat that soon erupted in to a full blown coughing fit. She leaned forward absentmindedly as she tried to expel whatever was caught there and felt a hand beat gently across her back to help her out.
"You okay there?" Said the gruff voice she know knew as Ed. She shook her head as her face grew red. She was glad she could hide behind the dark curtains of her hair, for her face definitely distorted into unpleasant features.
Then, just like that, the coughing stopped. She leaned back up and felt her hot red face with equally warm hands.
"I'm sorry. I don't know what just happened." She spoke in a slightly raspy voice as her vocal cords tried to settle back in.
"No problem. That happens sometimes when it g

Isaac looked up from one of the notepads he'd been pouring over while sitting on the side of the cot, and to the voice from the doorway of the quarters he shared with Heather. His partner still had her helmet on, as was their procedure unless the two of them knew they were in a locked, private area that was not bugged or would be intruded on. His own was still clamped on as well; it was uncomfortable to try to relax with it on, but God help him if someone walked in and saw his profile. Even with the helmet hiding her face, experience and knowledge of her stance told him how ill at ease she was, and that she was likely paled underneath the Enclave's faceplate.
"If William had one last shred of humanity left in his body," Isaac grumbled as Heather left the portal, and closed the door behind her, "he'd at least make sure that he didn't feel abandoned. To just stick him in a room like that, and shut the door "

Chapter 3: Ace In the Hole
Megaton; a town that was one of the few stable settlements within the wasteland. Stable meaning that they were neither raiders, nor slavers, had the nuances of a "law" and more importantly had a slight economy within the town. Now that the long list of its good features is out of the way, the more noticeable aspects of this "civilization" could be shown.
The people here were rude, dirty, and crude. The entire town was made up of people who would be more at home in Freeside than with any of the crowds John was used to. Even if technically speaking, John was more at home in Freeside than he was in New Vegas. The streets of Megaton were made of dirt, the buildings of scrapped tin and other debris. Strangely enough though, everyone in the town seemed to have a fair amount of caps, which was a surprise.
Almost the only thing that was really worth mentioning was the saloon in the town, and even that was piss poor compared to the bars back in Vegas.

Chapter 6: Devil in Disguise
It was hot, very hot. Without a single cloud in the sky, the sun was able to shine brightly as a giant red orb in a sea of blue. Worse, it reflected off the sand of the desert and turned the entire area into what was basically one giant oven. The rolling dunes and rocky outcrops all seemed as though they were under water, moving gently with the plumes of heat coming up from the ground. It was a desperate landscape that was just as deadly as it looked, if there really was a hell, this would be it. Unfortunately for those traveling out here, it wasn't the landscape that they should have feared, it was the presence of certain individuals that they should have feared.
In the middle of the dunes a small family, a man, woman, and small girl, were trying to quickly get through to the large city in the distance. It became very apparent though that something was wrong, their faces were gaunt, their lips were chapped, their faces were almost as red a

Chapter 4: Bar Fights and Ballistics
Staring down the barrel of a gun was always intimidating. Staring down the barrel of your own gun was especially intimidating. Staring down the barrel of your own gun, being able to see the bullet, and knowing the person holding the gun has killed hundreds of people and has no problem pulling the trigger; that was enough to break the willpower of almost any man. It was almost something of a parallel to the situation around them. Many were dying inside the bar, on both sides, it was a desperate situation for everyone, and it could all be personified right there between Riley and Johnny.
A normal person, well at least those who hadn't spent much time in the wasteland, might have cracked when faced with death. For many who lived out here though, death was a very common occurence. As for Johnny, it was part of almost every day life, not just death itself but being faced with death and staring it in the face. Of course, Johnny had always

Chapter 9: Here There Be Monsters
As a child Relic had always needed a candle burning by her bed when she went to sleep. Her mother would always light it, tuck her into bed, and then wait for the girl to fall asleep before blowing it out to conserve the wax. Relic wasn't sure why she was so terrified of the dark back then but as time went on she adapted to the darkness.
When River began teaching her how to shoot she had to adapt. They left the safety of the Community before dusk but sometimes weren't able to make it back before darkness fell. At first she had been a mess, clinging to her friend, fearing every noise, but then she realized her fear was completely pointless. Things could get her in the daylight just as easily. And the presence of River during the twilight had always alleviated some of her anxiety .
When she first traveled alone through the wasteland she had been so disoriented that she didn't have a chance to be scared, but the fear started to resurface o

It looked as though they may just have been able to make it away. John had backed up a good ways and it was obvious that the radscorpions were far too distracted with their meal to care about most anything else. There were quite a few stories out there about what happened to people who stumbled upon a group of them feasting. All the stories ended the same way, everyone died.
Thankfully though, this time they may actually be able to walk away and live to tell the tale. Then, just as Johnny was starting to feel comfortable with the distance he was making between himself and the behemoth tanks of a bug, he heard some movement and out of the corner of his eye saw something running toward them. Glancing over he saw the flash of dark hair as Relic charged the beasts.
Johnny couldn't help himself, his jaw dropped slightly in confusion and disbelief. Could anyone really willingly be dumb enough to draw the attention of a den of radscorpions? Two shot

His Name is James
I had a baby inside of me,
Of only ten weeks young.
It stole my heart and all my love,
But its time on earth was done.
Sacred and lonely in my room,
I bled and cramped and cried.
The next day's scan showed a still heart;
At ten weeks my baby died.
I cursed God for His hand in that,
For how can I mourn one without a name?
But God stuck by me throughout the hurt,
He says it was a boy I call him James.

The Legion were trained to stay and fight, yet several of the younger members had already turned to flee, wanting to keep their heads on their bodies. Around Boone, hell had broken loose and he was forgotten about. Though he wasn't hoping for anything, except for the possibility that a spare bullet would hit him, soon the shouts and yells subsided, and the only thing that could be heard were the heavy footfalls of the fleeing Legionaires, and then the sound of a growling dog, and another.
Boone looked up at this; to his left a Legion mongrel bared its teeth, looking in the direction of the sniper. Its fur was bristled, its eyes crazy. The man glanced from the dog to the mountain range, and there, thirty feet away stood Rex, his own fangs bared, his growls rising to match the other dog's. As Boone stood helplessly by, alone now except for the two alpha males. The dogs began to circle each other, and moved as one, jowls tw

She found the tent after searching for a while and she hesitated outside of it, wringing her small hands together. It had been a month since the blonde doctor's white haired friend died and it was whispered among the other slaves that something inside of him had died along with his friend. He no longer left the medical tent and Caesar himself had ordered that all sharp tools and dangerous Chems be removed from the man's tent to avoid a suicide attempt.
The crippled slave Asellio suddenly stepped out of the tent and Melody gasped in surprise, taking a step back away from the eighteen year old

"Hey Vulpes!" Aime called, voice as sweet as honey.
He turned, wondering what she wanted. Usually she only used this voice when she had some sort of unpleasant intent. "Yes" his satin voice responded.
Her sweet smile turned slightly sinister before she continued. "Can I ask you something?"
An odd question, usually she would just bluntly ask him, and her slightly sinister look caught him both slightly off guard and confused. He turned his head slightly, waiting for her to continue.
"Do you want a kiss?" the sickenly sweet voice continued as she stepped towards him boldly, sinisterly seductive smile on her face.
To say he was baffled would be a gross understatement. Observing her body language, he almost seemed like he wasn't going to have a choice. He could stop her, bind her, leave her to the coyotes, but would he really want to do that? As she took another step forward, he was still slightly paralyzed by the odd question. She leaned closer to him, turning his face away from her

When from every act toward me the message springs
Though words of love passed from your smiling lips
In my heart I heard unspoken truths of clinched fists
To verbalize the hate that I read long ago in unsmiling eyes

It's been said that actions speak louder than words
Moreso they are underlying truths from you so rarely heard.
Perhaps if not a hypocrit, you would know it too
That those actions destroyed all love that I had for you.
In the end, no words could ever make better
The deeds that cause a heart to shatter

Grumpy ComfortIt was raining Boone HATED it when it rained. It made looking through his scope harder to do and it made his sunglasses harder to look through because of the water landing on them. It also made it hard for him to properly disassemble and reassemble his rifle the way he liked to while on guard duty. Having ran out of ammo, she had no means on her to defend herself and that was an oversight which she normally never made. Of course, she had more than enough ammo to supply one of the smaller NCR camps - but it was back at the Lucky 38.
Not so lucky at the moment, apparently. Terra was cursing the Nelson camp as she ran, hoping her knowledge of the lands were better than that of the Legionaries behind her. It didn't help that her adrenaline was pounding through her veins; the fear she had was also ripping her stamina away. Normally she could keep a good pace for a while, but in this case, it was near impossible.
