Recovering from an evil cold that kicked the crap outta me last week so this guy was actually planned to go up some time ago.

The Kharma Actura is another 5th gen creation of the collaborative efforts of Oshen and Dies. The result of their efforts continued to yield sleek and aggressive beasts such as the Kharma Actura. Aggressive lines with a minimalist approach. The efforts of Oshen and Dies resulted in some of the most refined and effective FOILs ever to grace the battlefields of Polemos. Unfortunately these faedai were of the last of the era of the FOILs as their time was approaching it's close.

The name Kharma Actura is the result of the growing influence of the sendai Hindai movement. Obviously with some connection to Hinduism of humanities ancient past the Hindai movement is something that began entirely with the sendai and with them the first pangs of the return of some form of tangible spiritualism in SOL begin.

On the design of this guy I have to cite :icongenocidalpenguin: as influencing aspects of it's look as I decided to mash up some visual cues between the two of us on a few of the current FOILs I had been working on. Obviously it's the legs with this fella that has some aspect of GP's touch though I did my own thing, as I always do, and what resulted was this :) There is a pretty epic Vulne/GP FOIL pending posting so stay tuned.

Blown up light boxed pencil thumb with digital ink clean ups. Color in Photoshop CS3.

More pending as my brain recovers it's lucidity.

Cheers!

Installment 25: September to December 18, 2009

Final exams are over. Time for recovery...

These are some of the sketches and component studies I've done in the past few months, within class and whenever I had a little free time.

I've become re-attached to Rapidograph technical pens despite their high maintenance requirements. The consistent lines they can produce and the "fast" feeling are simply astounding, especially with the smallest tips. It's been a lot of fun experimenting with loose and tight methods; perhaps there's a middle ground where I can finally settle upon... ;)

And oh yes, I really like the Five Star Stories manga series--particularly their Mortar Headd designs! Take a look at them; maybe you'll find some inspiration from Mamoru Nagano's chivalrous universe too.

Finished this one up as my study break from finals. Its rather rushed, but I sorta wanted to just be done with it. Yeah I hate schoooooool.

Dont feel like writing much of a backstory. But its probably some modified ver of the Shinshutsu [link] for use by elites or capitol guard or something.

Installment 30: February 2011 to November 2011

One of the most difficult trials as a hobbyist is wrestling with regression--the tendency to fall back (or more accurately, undergo artistic atrophy) with insufficient devotion to honing one's skills. This was definitely the case in the past several months when I was working a temporary position while also trying to find a permanent job.

Indeed, David White was correct when he said that the best action to to avoid falling back is to simply not let it happen, by practicing earnestly when time allows.

These pencil sketches are some of my attempts to stave off that regression, mostly composed of powered armor and bipedal mecha designs for a personal story in development. Oldest works are at the top, while the newest are at the bottom. Enjoy! :)

IT's been a while since i uploaded my own story related mech's design.

SF-HMH- 'Gael' is House Soldorian Elite Guard mechs. The get around using anti gravity tech with allows them to float at a control height and move around quickly. (Think of them like a Star Wars Speeder with legs and arms)

(I will update the specs later since I am a little busy now)

The 07b-A1, also known as the Gin Matsuba (after the silver/red koi) is the USDF's rapid deployment mobile armour. Designed with diverse deployment capabilities in mind, the Gin Matsuba is capable of transport by sea, land, and air; and can be deployed, combat ready from such, with only limited modification. The 07b-A1 is fitted with a special broad spectrum optical unit and a multi-projectile-threat response device, making it suitable for combat in high target density locations, and because of its diverse deployment capabilities, many special units use the armor as a rapid assault weapon, where it is often seen in the initial attacks and invasions as a key component of larger scale ops. The Gin Matsuba can handle most standard weapons, but has slots for high output energy weapons as well. And with built in anti personal and proximity protection mechanisms, the unit is ready to take on nearly any battle, anywhere, and anytime.

This is the next to follow in the mass production line. Equipped with a double barreled high power beam rifle , 4 beam cannons(on the back).. and an upgraded engine for a maximum power output.. This is the mecha you want to have...

Combat Foil concept design for :iconvulnepro:'s Theos Ke Polemos mecha anime universe.

Design based on an original sketch by :iconvulnepro: Sketch: [link]

This version has many slight improvements over the first version I did, which you can see here: [link] No weathering on this pass.

A summer and a semester's delay later, and the fourth installment in the "Jump!" series is finally complete. Attempting to finish this was...well, a foot to my face; it's quite humbling how quickly one can regress in ability without sufficient time to practice.

Done in PaintTool SAI.
