I had hair brown, skin as white as snow
Still filled with more than enough of a youthful glow
I was a young man, barely 13, in a time where children were ignored
A boy not concerned with time, reason, rhyme, or reward
Life seems opaque, after many glances
We come to take, more than chances
Life seems to be, less than easy
Time and time again, it's like running against the grain
I ran across the back cobblestone streets,
by the unpopular old little cafe we used to meet,
I've seen and saw you eying me,
I'd simply asked you if you'd want to hold hands, and our lives spiraled out of control
