Hybrid, Chapter 2: The Prophet
June 14, 2343
Alexander woke up that early morning. He poked his head out of the window and looked where the star Vega was rising. He knew that the Prophet would be at the Jardi Meadow, but his mother would not allow him. Staying in bed, he thought, how can I get there without her noticing?
Then he heard a knock on his door. “Alexander, are you awake?”
Maybe if I pretend to be sick, she would leave me alone, he thought.
Helen crept the door and went in his room. “Are you alright?”
He opened his eyes as he pretended that he was asleep. “I’m still tired Mother. I slept horrible last night.”
“You had trouble getting back to sleep because of that nightmare?” she asked.
He nodded as he lied.
She said, “Alright then, I’ll let you rest for a while until you’re better. Are you hungry?”

On the deck of a large tree house in the Chartorla rainforest, Helen’s eight year old son Alexander sat on her lap. His ocean blue eyes stared blankly as he was awed by the twinkling stars in the night sky. Helen stroked his spiky white hair. Helen looked at the sky for a second and sighed sadly. She looked away as the sky reminded her of someone she lost.
“Mother, what’s wrong?” Alexander asked her.
“I’m tired,” Helen lied. “I think it’s time to go to bed.”
The boy nodded as she took him to his bedroom. They walked around his wooden toys scattered all over the floor. His closet opened with a tunic hanging on the door. Cool air blew through his window Helen folded the blankets open and he jumped into bed.
"The night sky is so beautiful," said Alexander as he was tucked in.
"It is," Helen agreed.

The Last Battle
In a room filled with glowing crystals, a tyrian reptilian man, Seiton, sat in his high throne engraved with gargoyles. His hands waved over a hovering holographic map of the Milky Way Galaxy. He laughed for black shades covered nearly all the map.
Only this star system, Navi was highlighted blue. He touched that star for interface and an image of planet Okma flickered above the map. This planet had native ships flying around it like bees warning each other of danger.
“Oh, Spacers,” the man chuckled. “All your worlds are destroyed by my touch. Your corpses are disintegrated by my footsteps. You don’t stand a chance in the universe. Now, my Titan Empire has become my galaxy against your world. You will all perish.”
A spiky armored-Titan entered the room. “Lord Seiton, my men are ready.”
His throne creaked as Seiton turned to the soldier and smiled. “Excellent, activate the relay

On Planet Chartorla, the Cobains were having their evening service at the Temple of Teren. They appear like humans, but as reptilian. All of them bowed and prayed in front of two statues of their gods at the altar. The priests carried bowls of food and water as they made an offering to them.
A mysterious vortex appeared at the altar and Helen emerged. Her skin covered in smoke, her gown torn, and eyes watered in need for air. The Cobains froze in fear as if she was their goddess. She stood in fear as well, not knowing who they were. They bowed to her and faced the floor for fear of disrespecting her.
Helen screamed and collapsed on the floor, a reaction to another painful contraction. A head priest named Noremac and her teenage son Nadnerb got everyone out of the temple to begin the delivery. Noremac said as they went up to her, "Dear Goddess, we will help you."
Helen couldn't believe she was called a goddess. She looked at

Helen woke up and found herself in a king-sized bed with thick warm silver blankets and pillows, and wearing a blue night gown. The bedroom had opaque glass walls, built-in light domes, a stained glass window behind her bed, and a fluffy floor. Her mind kept racing as she looked around feeling confused. The last thing she remembered was the mysterious man who saved her from her ruthless slave masters. Questions raced through her mind, where am I? How did I get here?
Then her bedroom door opened. Feeling scared, she lay back down to pretend to sleep. She carefully lifted her head up and saw a hovering metal box with a blue glowing screen and skinny jointed arms at the sides. Her eyes widened and her body froze.
The box turned and spoke, “Good morning Helen.”
Helen backed away, “Who are you and how do you know my name?”
“Apologies,” the box s

Midgard Year 846. 13th day of the Blood Moon
Rain came down in a torrential downpour, collecting in puddles along the cobblestone street. The light cast by the lumini stones in lampposts flickered, making the street seem even darker than it already was. Heavy black clouds covered the moon, blotting out its silvery light. Lightning flashed in the distance, illuminating the looming houses lining the streets like threatening silhouettes. They gave the appearance of clawed hands ready to grasp whatever strayed into their path.
A woman ran through the dark streets, the dull red-brown of old blood splattering her clothing. She continued to glance over her shoulder at the shadows that shifted behind her, a small wrapped bundle clutched tightly to her chest.
Breath came hard to her tired lungs and her legs ached painfully. The streets were empty, there was no one to call for help, and the houses were dark. She had pounded on doors, but to no avail. She had only been g

Sara sat quietly in her tent, staring at her hands. It had been hours ago but she could
still feel the warmth and joy of it. It made her feel so strange. She could feel the
rift in her soul, the side that was dark and longed for blood. But she remembered the
other side. The part of her that felt happy when Seluna congratulated her, the side that
was so eager to learn. She never saw any others shift like her. They only showed two
emotions, hate and anger. And for some, they were cruel or neutral expressions. Seluna
was the only one she saw with some hint at a smile. Maybe that's why she felt better
She continued to revert back to the empty feeling when forced to kill or when left
alone. The only good it brought was that she could think. But her thinking gave her
headaches and she continued to wish her only friend would r

Many great men have risen from the lowest depths of society to become great. Many men have been given every advantage in life which has put them in places and allowed them to achieve things that few could have ever dreamt of. Greatness stems from some unusual places; sometimes. More often it stems from places less surprising. Not once in history has there ever been a case of a hero, falling from grace; to then rise once more, stronger than ever. At least, not in public history, the criminal underworld is always something that I have found fascinating; many will resort to the underground in their fall and so it is impossible to know for sure whether in this environment, someone has ever been able to rise once more to greatness.
The perceived lifestyle of a dealer in narcotics is one of extravagance and wealth; however this like many other perceived lifestyles of businessmen, the tremendous houses lavishly fitted, the food; fit for a king, the cartels of s

A new year takes its place
A new chapter in the book of life
For every being on Earth
A time for resolutions
To lose weight
To fall in love
To make dreams true
We all grow a year older
We get wiser and braver
We live our lives differently
We all share the same blue sky
Some people fear change
They fear the unknown
Of what the next year brings
That makes them doubt their future
The future isn't set in stone
Nobody can put a date on anything
Those who believe in such nonsense
Are just as foolish as the crazies
The future is how we make it
We have time to make changes
To make the world a better place
For all of us to live happily in
People may make you believe
That something awful will happen
Those who think they know such rubbis
Their just trying to deceive the mind
Its time you stood on your own feet
Believe in what you believe in
Not in those who spout lies
But within yourself to find the truth
All of us we'

I devour you, like a fire dry wood

What is he?

On Hadean, Seeker uploaded his files into a built-in jump drive from his probes to present Seiton his new data. The little Helbot jumped off a balcony and flew with his jet-pack to the Great Tower. Then he slid down a pipe to enter his leader's den. He got on the platform and Seiton's image appeared.
"Seeker, what do you have for me?" asked Seiton.
"I brought helpful information about the "Child of the Spacers," said Seeker.
"Well, bring them to me!" Seiton waved his hand to his little Helbot.
A rod from the platform emerged, Seeker inserted his scissor finger into it, and the data got transferred into his leader. While Seiton received the data, he asked "How did you get this?"
"My probes in Chartorla found where "The Child of the Spacers" and Queen Helen used to live and recorded what they were saying and doing," Seeker explained.
The recorder came o
