Me and the rest of the guardians put the last of the dragon eggs in the hatchery. 100 small pods of pure hope. Promises, waiting to be fulfilled.
The Year of the Dragon........What an interesting time. I began to ponder why all the dragon eggs always came all at once, when a yellow elder dragon with grey horns and underside walked up next to me. It was Volteer, one of my fellow guardians. He stood in a happy pose, grinning from one side of his head to the other.
"Another year passes. You know, Ignitus, I've always wondered something. Just.....what IS so special about the purple egg in the center?"
"You've...never heard the rumors, have you?", I replied.
Volteer shook his head. Surprising. I had at least hoped he would have heard some rumors.
"Simple. It mea

I know that we haven't known each other very long, but I feel like this amount of time together has taught me more than my mind can possibly hold. I can't hold it back any longer. I have to tell you how I feel about you.
Everytime that I look into your eyes, I almost lose myself. I always see the kind, generous hero that rescued me in a time of need. Whenever I needed you the most, you were there for me. I would stay with you until the world ended, and afterwards, forever and a day. I need you to be at my side.
I've never felt this way before. I guess it

It was a beautiful morning, by any account, but Spyro only had eyes for Cynder. He was in love with her, there was no doubting it, but was she in love with him? This had been the topic that was the most thought of in his mind for the past few weeks. He had tried to gather the courage to ask her out, but whenever he got near her, his throat closed up and only a faint squeak came out. He had decided to do it. "Now," he told himself forcefully.
Spyro walked up behind Cynder, who was napping in the afternoon sun of the Temple gardens, and nudged her shoulder gently. Cynder stirred, then opened her eyes and looked at Spyro sleepily. "Hey there, Spyro. What brings you here?" she asked, stretching like a cat. Spyro blushed slightly and said softly, "I was wondering if you would like to go somewhere with me, just for a while." Cynder looked at Spyro and blushed as well, for she thought she knew where this was going. "Sure, where are we going?" she asked, looking at h
Not TodayThe afternoon had already arrived when Spyro had finished all his duties as the new leader of the guardians. The dragon, of merely twenty years of age, exhaled softly as he walked through a long hall inside the new temple- built only a year ago near the Valley of Avalar. His body was cramped; several hours of training, plus a long audience with the felines of the region could wear out the most resilient of dragons. The purple dragon sighed once more as he turned through a corner. Not Today4 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
'It seems as if I'm the only one who can fix any problem in the entire realm,' Spyro thought, as he craned his neck to the side in a stretching manner. He looked forward again, and yawned. 'Well,' he continued to think. 'I guess it's the purple dragon's task anyways No complaining.'
It was then when an image of Cynder suddenly ran through his mind. He stood still for a moment, wondering where his trusted female friend was. After the fall of Malefor and the birth of the new era, the black dragoness had, t

It was a warm, clear summer evening that cast peace through the hearts of everyone. A lone nightingale sang it's last song before nightfall, treasuring it's final notes as it's lullaby sang through the forest onto calm ears. Everything was perfect throughout the realms. The wild roses bloomed through that area, every color imaginable. From the lightest pink, to the darkest purple, it was all there. Except for a single black rose, not one bloomed in the entire forest...
Cynder looked over at Spyro. "Spyro..." She said slowly, a little hint of joy and warmth to her voice. She gazed longingly into Spyro's eyes, the purple in his eyes tossing in circles, keeping her guessing. She loved that.
"Yeah, Cynder?" Spyro replied, looking into those eyes, those beautiful green eyes that

One would think that the landscape was peaceful and beautiful; with the leaves of the trees swinging freely and almost in a lazy way due to the calmness of the wind. The clouds overhead forming strange and exotic figures. The river running below, with its crystal clear color and with its sound of moving water forming the music of nature; made the place seem pure. The place seems to be a peaceful sight, with nothing to interrupt its calmness.
That is, until a black blur quickly passed by followed quickly by a purple blur.
"Come on, Sypro. Am I to fast for you?" teased Cynder with a laugh.
"You just wait until I catch you" he shot back, pushing himself a little more to catch her.

The purple dragon had always taken the burden of leading a new-world as best as he could, but never the less it was an extremely large task for a dragon his age. There were too many responsibilities; too many things to be taken into thought. A dragon of his age could make many mistakes under such great pressure; and these were unacceptable from the one taking such a role.
"I was so irrespirable, Cyn," the purple dragon vented his emotions with the ever-kind dragoness. She looked at him with eyes of sympathy; a small sign of worry for the male upon her entire visage. As Spyro gave the dragoness a look of defeat, she inclined her neck to the side and welcomed him to sit at her side.
"Here," Cynder cooed in a sweet tone. The purple dragon moved to her left side, and then lied upon the small pile of hay with the female. As Spyro exhaled out in melancholy, the black dragoness could tell that the glimmer the dragon always held on his eyes had vanished. I

"I was?" Spyro asked. He had thought to keep this nightmare to himself.
"What happened?" Cynder asked concerned.
Spyro stood up and walked over to an old oak tree and sat back down underneath it. He was still breathing deeply as if he was afraid. He finally spoke. "I had the weirdest dream," he said. "We were chained together, and we woke up in what appeared to be hell."
"What?" Cynder chuckled. "Hell? The only place we know as hell is when we were locked in that cavern after you killed Gaul."
"Yeah " Spyro laughed. "It was a stupid dream "

The black dragoness shakily got up and looked around. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a hint of purple. Turning her head in that direction, she saw it was none other than the purple dragon, Spyro.
As she slowly made her way over to him, Spyro's eye lid quivered, and then he opened his eyes slightly.
At first the purple dragon didn't know what happened and why he felt so drained, but then the memory of the battle came rushing back to him all at once.
He opened his eyes enough to see his surroundings, and was surprised at what he saw.

The two dragons had been playing in the open plain for a while now. The beautiful and endless field covered in high-grass was the perfect place for playing, and for having fun. The sky was as clear and perfect as a polished silver plate; not a single cloud in sight.
It was then when the two dragons spotted the herd of wild Thumpers an aggressive creature of large size, with a bulky furred torso and the head of a rabbit. Spyro and Cynder noticed that the creatures came to a full stop as they started to graze about in a drop in the plains. This small levelling in the fields was but a few yards from the dragons.
"Wow," Cynder spoke in a bewildered tone as she and Spyro looked at each other. "I would have never imagined myself so close to a wild herd of these creatures." Spyro looked to the Thumpers, talking

Shadow- Even in the darkest of shadows, and when it seemed that evil had prevailed over good, Spyro would not give in. He knew that he had to fight on and triumph; at least in the name of his mate, Cynder.
Light- The bright rays of the morning sun crept into the depth of the male dragon's room. Spyro squinted as the light touched his delicate face. Slowly he covered himself by tucking his muzzle into Cynder's warm and welcoming neck.
Ice- The cold winter brought many things to the two dragons, including Cynder's despair. The female had nothing against the season itself, but the cold and freezing ice it brought haunted her. The dragoness was not as much of a fanatic of 'ice sliding' as Spyro was.
Lightning- Young Cynder tucked her head deep into the blanket which she and the dragon shared. Spyro placed his small tail on her back.

Spyro, with Cynder by his side, pressed on through the ashes of the place he once called home. He recognised the big tree that himself and Sparx used to play at...before he threw himself and his brother into this war.
"I feel bad...", Spyro thought. "Sparx had no need to be dragged into this...yet I let him come along anyway. Then again, I guess he is a persistant little bugger...". He also worried about his foster parents. Sparx was probably worried sick about them. "They can't be dead, can they? I don't think I could bare to lose more than what I already have lost..."
Thoughts of Ignitus ran through Spyro's head. "He didn't need to help me....why was I so pushy when I wanted to learn about my past? Why didn't I just let him go in that cave? Sure, he might of been killed by Cynder by then, but..."
The name rang a bell...Cynder.

Cynder was already headed there by the time I finished talking.
The trees were covered in a beautiful layer of snow, and decorated with beautiful colored orbs. It looked familiar, but I couldn't put a finger on it.
A few minutes later, we reached the city. It was also fully decorated. Bright, shiny decorations were scattered everywhere. I think it kinda scared Cynder, because she acted kinda hesitant.

Me and Cynder laid out in the lush, green fields of Avalar. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining. Barely a cloud in the sky. I probably could have enjoyed the hopeful day, if I wasn't mourning.

Maybe it could have turned out differently. Maybe there was a chance for the one who explained to me who I was, to be at my side right now.

Then his mind shifted towards Cynder, he quickly looked around and found her laying unconscious a few meters away.

All Spyro needed to feel full of joy was that Cynder's sweet smile; and it really wasn't too hard to make it appear. The first signs of spring and a soft breeze were just enough to cause her to grin softly in peace and serenity; but to bring a greater smile, more was needed. Spyro did not have to worry about this, though: His soft words, his jokes, and the way he laughed in a goffy manner were enough to cause her to glitter like gold from her smile.
And a sweet kiss... oh, a sweet kiss would be just the right thing to make her glow like the sun itself. The soft blush on her cheeks, and her perfectly paired set of teeth were bliss themselves. From the first day he first met and forever forth the purple dragon would pray every day that he could bring her that smile once again; for her smile was his as well.

Within the Dragon Temple, in the middle of the day, a young purple dragon, Spyro, was sitting at the end of a hallway, relaxing, as he stood a few feet away from his mentor, Ignitus. The great Fire Guardian himself was laying fully on the floor, resting his old bones.
Spyro smiled to his sleeping mentor and continued to look around at the temple, until he heard the faint footseps of a dragon coming nearby. As the purple dragon looked around for the source of the footsteps, he faced towards the other end of the hallway, tilting his head slightly as he saw a small dragonlike figure about to emerge.
Curious and wide awake, Ignitus turned his head and gazed his eyes to where Spyro was looking to.
Slowly appearing from one of the hallways, was a small, young dragoness just about Spyro's size with shiny gray-black scales that are said to almost gleam, along with a red scaley belly. She has six horns on her head: two short ones at the bottom of her head nex

I sat down for a moment, pondering. Suddenly, I happened to notice a shimmering object in the distance. I walked over and picked it up. It was a diamond ring. All the colors of the rainbow seemed to shine through it, despite it being the middle of the night. My luck served me well yet again.
Me and Ember continued to watch Spyro and Cynder. Spyro picked up the bait, and walked back towards Cynder, who was still sleeping.
