CynophobiaIt wasn't a new copy of Soul Silver I had gotten possession of. I already had Heart Gold, but...
My friend, Endgame, had finally informed me there were certain Pokemon you could get only in Soul Silver and only in Heart Gold, but I wanted both. It was fun to have both versions, really; I could be a girl in one and a boy in the other! Or maybe not.
Either way, Soul Silver--I had gotten one off of... where else? ...Ebay, and it was used, yes. But I was sure it wasn't hacked; for one thing, everything worked fine. No weird things happened!
I had attained a party of Marble, an Eevee(who I wanted to evolve into an Umbreon); Ruffles, a Wigglytuff; Lynched, a Poliwhirl; Chi the Espeon(I bred her for my Eevee); a Typholsion named Fluffy; and lastly, a Girafarig named Ki.
After a month or so of owning Soul Silver, Endgame suggested to me Platinum--that way, I'd have even more fun! After all, just the first two generations wasn't quite so fun; platinum would have two further generations, so to s

Then one day, one of my friends, "Queen of Unicorns" - Queen, as I called her- offered to me, over our messenger service, a trade of friendship; we would trade Pokemon, and raise those friendship Pokemon to level 100 and keep them as reminders of each other, maybe even use them against each other in battles...
I liked the idea, so I agreed--and she traded me a female Girafarig named Ki. I traded her, in return, a male Nidoran named King. I wasn't horribly original, but it was cute, she said, so I was quite happy with that.
I told her afterward that I loved Girafarig, and she got excited; I wasn't sure, but her typing was almost unreadable so I assumed she was excited.
'I'm so happy!' she told me after that, and I grinned.
Then I told her I w

Her brother was pretty mean, but he had been nice in giving me, in an egg, to her--and in return, she gave him a Wailord that was... level 89. I was worth that much?
I meant that much to her?
I was so excited that, when I finally burst of my egg, I didn't give my usual cry. Instead, I just beat my wings hard and waved my tail; she looked surprised behind her glasses, but I could tell she was excited.
Eventually, it was time for her to put me down, but not before she taught me Return. I promised myself that I would make my Return as strong as possible; I had to mean everything to her, and she meant everything to me...
Instead of turning off the game I was in, she instead left it on, plugging in the charger--I understood, though. She looked somewhat scared as she turned off the lamp that was on the table I was o

I opened up Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red - told you it was old - and looked to see what my team was. My mom had brought it for me a while ago, even though she was more into pokemon than I was, but she said she thought I'd have liked it. And I did; she was the one that got me into pokemon, actually.
Oh, that's funny, my team was... a Psyduck and a Pikachu. The Pikachu was named Bullet and the Psyduck - me - was... Foggy. Eh, I would restart and get a Chikorita; I liked Chikoritas so much more anyway.
Shrugging, I headed to my mother's bedroom so I could play while she was working on bills, to help keep her cheerful.
Then I realized. She was gone, away on a meeting; and as it would end late tonight, she was going to stay at a hotel and likely wouldn't be home until late tomorrow evening.
I sighed. I would be alone tonight - and that was kind of fun, albeit somewhat lonely. Shrugging,

Hm! You say you don't know me. I can't help but wonder if that's a good thing. You may not know my face, but surely you might have heard my name before? My name is Red. I was once declared the youngest champion in Kanto's history and the only one to hold the title for so long. But that title is a false one. I'm not a champion. I'm nothing more than a senile old man. I said something I shouldn't have. My mother always warned me that I should never make a wish out loud because someone might be listening.
Ah, so you do know who I am! That will surely save time. I'm guessing you've come to find me to ask me how I became the champion and how I managed to hold it. The tale is not a happy one and I am not eager to share it.

It was a copy of Heart Gold off of Ebay; they said it'd never been opened, yet there was no cellophane around it.
But regardless, I was sitting on the family couch, grinning my teeth out, the small brown packet in my lap, bubble wrap scattered around--and popped.
"It's no problem, Sophia," said my father, and I just grinned even further before taking the package and my DS- which I had lovingly been playing Golden Sun DS on for a while - to my room, bouncing on my bed as I opened my laptop on the rather low bedside table, letting it come to life.
Now it was time to research Pokemon! Yes, I had never been into Pokemon before. I knew its mascots, yes, but I hadn't ever gotten a copy of it until now; my friend had highly suggested Heart Gold to me, and I had agreed - plus, it had 'gold' in the title!
That made me think of Golden Sun, and it pleased me oh-so-much; gold was one of my favorite colors, and Golden Sun was a

[Based on a true story...Slightly modified. ]
The cloning tricks in Pokemon games are such a blast, and they are the things that EVERYONE wants to know how to do. I was one of the hundreds, maybe thousands, on that bandwagon, especially when Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal first appeared.
The cloning glitch was simple. You had the Pokemon you desired to clone in your party, went to the PC, switched to an empty box, then let the game save. After that, one proceeded to choose the Pokemon you desired to clone, deposit him, her, or it into the empty box, switch over to an entirely different box, then...
You merely don't let it save. Shut off your game in the middle of the game saving the data; usually three rotations of your save 'circle' would do nicely. When you turned your game back on, you could look in your party and there would be the Pokemon you wanted to clone. You looked in the PC box in question, and oh! There it is! Another copy of your other Pokemon! Simple eh?

My aunt gave me a Gameboy Advance for my birthday, when I was about 5. With the gameboy, I got 3 games handed down to me from my cousins: Harvest Moon, Tony Hawk, and a Pokemon Yellow version.
First I played Harvest Moon, practically the whole time my relatives came to visit. I loved it, I played it for hours. Finally, I beat the game and I was bored.
I popped the Pokemon Yellow into the cartridge without a thought. The game started up with Professor Oak giving his speech about Pokemon. I named myself ADA and went on. The game progressed completely normally. No glitches, no hacks. Finally, I got the Pikachu you run into when you walk into the grass. When it asked me to name Pikachu, I immediately called the Pikachu ALICE. I've always loved that name.

That must be why it chose me.
They say the new Pokémon games have no glitches, so they hear, and some live, gory and creepy stories from the games back in the nineties. But trouble still lurks in new generations, enraged and violent for being forgotten and ignored. I knew that.
IT lives in generation 4. It knows I understand how it thinks.
So it chose me.
That day, I was with my *original, untouched* Soul Silver cartridge, playing around with my Pokémon. My friend came along with her r4, with no hacks in it or nothing. I mean, who hasn't tried out one of the three 'Mew Glitch' methods out at some point? I know I had tried the first two methods before with no issues, and I wanted to give 'Method #3' aka the Ditto Method a shot.

I decided today would be the day I finally caught a glitch Pokemon, after all, I wanted to see what kind of damage this one could do in battle- I heard it was relatively safe to capture, and it wouldn't destroy my save data.
So, I went online and looked up how to do 'the Ditto method'. I knew that in order to catch Mew with this method, you had to have a Pokemon with a Special stat of 21, but as I was hunting for a glitch Pokemon, I had to have a Special stat high up in the 150 and over range.
As I was looking on Bulbapedia to see which glitch Pokemon were available

They are often disguised as normal Pokémon game ROMs, having the official title. But, they are far from the real thing. It also seems as if only certain people meet the effects of the ROM, while others play the game normally Why this is so, I've yet to find out What I do know is that I seem to be one of those certain people,

March 14 2010. Today I'm getting Pokemon Soulsilver. I'm happy, I've been saving up alot of money for today, And I heard the game was supposed to be good. It's a remake of one of my favorite Game Boy Advance games. I sent my mom out to buy the game since I wanted to play my Pokemon Diamond for a little while before I forget about it when I get my newer game.
Eventually my mom came back with my SoulSilver DS Cartridge. It was in a silver box that was shining, and had an odd texture to it. On the cover was Lugia in an attack-like pose with "Pokemon SoulSilver" marked on the near-bottom of the box. It also came with a Pokewalker, Which from what I heard was supposed to help kids get out more to raise their Pokemon.
Pleeease.. I said to myself quietly. I'm probaly not even going to use the silly thing anyways. Ignoring that thought, I opened up the case from the side to see my SoulSilver game Cover and my Pokewalker wrapped in some sort of packaging plastic.
