CynophobiaIt wasn't a new copy of Soul Silver I had gotten possession of. I already had Heart Gold, but...
My friend, Endgame, had finally informed me there were certain Pokemon you could get only in Soul Silver and only in Heart Gold, but I wanted both. It was fun to have both versions, really; I could be a girl in one and a boy in the other! Or maybe not.
Either way, Soul Silver--I had gotten one off of... where else? ...Ebay, and it was used, yes. But I was sure it wasn't hacked; for one thing, everything worked fine. No weird things happened!
I had attained a party of Marble, an Eevee(who I wanted to evolve into an Umbreon); Ruffles, a Wigglytuff; Lynched, a Poliwhirl; Chi the Espeon(I bred her for my Eevee); a Typholsion named Fluffy; and lastly, a Girafarig named Ki.
After a month or so of owning Soul Silver, Endgame suggested to me Platinum--that way, I'd have even more fun! After all, just the first two generations wasn't quite so fun; platinum would have two further generations, so to s

Then one day, one of my friends, "Queen of Unicorns" - Queen, as I called her- offered to me, over our messenger service, a trade of friendship; we would trade Pokemon, and raise those friendship Pokemon to level 100 and keep them as reminders of each other, maybe even use them against each other in battles...
I liked the idea, so I agreed--and she traded me a female Girafarig named Ki. I traded her, in return, a male Nidoran named King. I wasn't horribly original, but it was cute, she said, so I was quite happy with that.
I told her afterward that I loved Girafarig, and she got excited; I wasn't sure, but her typing was almost unreadable so I assumed she was excited.
'I'm so happy!' she told me after that, and I grinned.

Her brother was pretty mean, but he had been nice in giving me, in an egg, to her--and in return, she gave him a Wailord that was... level 89. I was worth that much?
I meant that much to her?
I was so excited that, when I finally burst of my egg, I didn't give my usual cry. Instead, I just beat my wings hard and waved my tail; she looked surprised behind her glasses, but I could tell she was excited.
Eventually, it was time for her to put me down, but not before she taught me Return. I promised myself that I would make my Return as strong as possible; I had to mean everything to her, and she meant everything to me...
Instead of turning off the game I was in, she instead left it on, plugging in the charger--I understood, though. She looked somewhat scared as she turned off the lamp that was on the table I was o

I opened up Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red - told you it was old - and looked to see what my team was. My mom had brought it for me a while ago, even though she was more into pokemon than I was, but she said she thought I'd have liked it. And I did; she was the one that got me into pokemon, actually.
Oh, that's funny, my team was... a Psyduck and a Pikachu. The Pikachu was named Bullet and the Psyduck - me - was... Foggy. Eh, I would restart and get a Chikorita; I liked Chikoritas so much more anyway.
Shrugging, I headed to my mother's bedroom so I could play while she was working on bills, to help keep her cheerful.
Then I realized. She was gone, away on a meeting; and as it would end late tonight, she was going to stay at a hotel and likely wouldn't be home until late tomorrow evening.
I sighed. I would be alone tonight - and that was kind of fun, albeit somewhat lonely. Shrugging,

Hm! You say you don't know me. I can't help but wonder if that's a good thing. You may not know my face, but surely you might have heard my name before? My name is Red. I was once declared the youngest champion in Kanto's history and the only one to hold the title for so long. But that title is a false one. I'm not a champion. I'm nothing more than a senile old man. I said something I shouldn't have. My mother always warned me that I should never make a wish out loud because someone might be listening.
Ah, so you do know who I am! That will surely save time. I'm guessing you've come to find me to ask me how I became the champion and how I managed to hold it. The tale is not a happy one and I am not eager to share it.

I'm afraid that the same thing that happened to my dear friend, Michaela, will happen to me and you. Remember, Rotom is always watching you ...
Okay; you may call her a weirdo. Michaela mostly kept to herself. Even in the summer, she was never seen outside, but rather playing her Pokémon games in her room. She was the typical kid who got bored over summer vacation, so she restarted her Diamond game. Over and over she'd reset it, and she'd complete the entire game. She only ever forgot one part - that mansion in Eterna Forest. She may love Pokémon, but she was petrified to death of ghosts and scary movies - she never even dared to set foot in Eterna Forest again after she went through it the first time. Towards the end of summer, she got bored playing it over and over. She wanted something new. I mean, who hasn't tried out one of the three 'Mew Glitch' methods out at some point? I know I had tried the first two methods before with no issues, and I wanted to give 'Method #3' aka the Ditto Method a shot.
I was playing through Yellow anyway after all, a Nuzlocke challenge that I had already beaten, and
my team wasn't doing much else anyway
I decided today would be the day I finally caught a glitch Pokemon, after all, I wanted to see what kind of damage this one could do in battle- I heard it was relatively safe to capture, and it wouldn't destroy my save data.
So, I went online and looked up how to do 'the Ditto method'. I knew that in order to catch Mew with this method, you had to have a Pokemon with a Special stat of 21, but as I was hunting for a glitch Pokemon, I had to have a Special stat high up in the 150 and over range.
As I was looking on Bulbapedia to see which glitch Pokemon were available

They say the new Pokémon games have no glitches, so they hear, and some live, gory and creepy stories from the games back in the nineties. But trouble still lurks in new generations, enraged and violent for being forgotten and ignored. I knew that.

So it chose me.
That day, I was with my *original, untouched* Soul Silver cartridge, playing around with my Pokémon. My friend came along with her r4, with no hacks in it or nothing. It was so fun to explore a new landscape in a new game! After I got my starter, a Turtwig, I started the adventure. I caught many Pokemon, but my main team was Leafy (my Turtwig), Jiro (a Starly), Kiki (a Shinx), Gemmy (an Abra), and Echo (a Zubat). I always kept an extra space in my Party in case I saw a really cool Pokemon.
As I was making my way through route 205, I found a female Buizel. I had really wanted one! Everything was normal with her but one thing: her level. It was much lower than the level Pokemon normally are in that area, being only 4. I ignored it and sent out Leafy. He was a Grotle now, probably too strong, so I switched to Echo. Echo was my weakest Pokemon, at only level 12. The Buizel used Tail Whip. Echo's defense was lowered, as usual. I had Echo use Supersonic. The Buize

You're here. I was waiting for you. There are some things I'd like to discuss with you about something I found, or more so, given. It began this afternoon, right before the sun went down and night fell. I was lonely, for I heard no word of anyone; not you, not my partner, no one. This soon ended when there were multiple knocks on my front door. The knocking was very gentle and weak, unlike how it usually was, and then a small voice said softly;
"Hello ? Her ?"
I got up, and opened the door, to be met with a young boy, seemingly about ten years of age, with an expressionless, dazed look on his face. He just stood there for a few seconds, and then asked me, "Are you her?" I responded, "Her who?" He said, "The one who looks up hacked games?" I answered, "Yes, I am " Suddenly, I heard shouting.

I braced myself; I knew, by previous experiences, that ROM hacks tended to be more unnerving than hacked cartridges, mainly because they were easier to alter. They are often disguised as normal Pokémon game ROMs, having the official title. But, they are far from the real thing. It also seems as if only certain people meet the effects of the ROM, while others play the game normally Why this is so, I've yet to find out What I do know is that I seem to be one of those certain people,

You see, I, along with a few select others, am a researcher for a special topic. Hacked games and hidden glitch exposures. But not just any hacked games These hacked games or of the children franchise "Pokémon", but they have been given modifications that made them dark, gory, or simply depressing. Please note, the hacks are either from used cartridges, or hacked internet ROM downloads. March 14 2010. Today I'm getting Pokemon Soulsilver. I'm happy, I've been saving up alot of money for today, And I heard the game was supposed to be good. It's a remake of one of my favorite Game Boy Advance games. I sent my mom out to buy the game since I wanted to play my Pokemon Diamond for a little while before I forget about it when I get my newer game.
Eventually my mom came back with my SoulSilver DS Cartridge. It was in a silver box that was shining, and had an odd texture to it. On the cover was Lugia in an attack-like pose with "Pokemon SoulSilver" marked on the near-bottom of the box. It also came with a Pokewalker, Which from what I heard was supposed to help kids get out more to raise their Pokemon.
Pleeease.. I said to myself quietly. I'm probaly not even going to use the silly thing anyways. Ignoring that thought, I opened up the case from the side to see my SoulSilver game Cover and my Pokewalker wrapped in some sort of packaging plastic.

Before I begin, allow me to give you some background information.
For my entire life I have been a fan of the Pokemon series.
It all started when I was little, when I played Pokemon Red on my old pink Game boy colour.
Yes, I was hooked from the start.
The creatures, the world, the feeling of going on an adventure, I loved everything about it.
At the time I am writing this, Pokemon Black and White have already been released in Japan but not yet in America, so I have to wait a few months until I am able to play it, since I don't want to import it. (I would have imported it if I could understand Japanese, though)
As you probably have figured out by now, while some fans tend to leave the series at one point, usually because of their disappointment with the new Pokemon, I have always liked each generation and their Pokemon equally and I will probably continue to play these games until they simply stop getting made.
Now, this brings us to the story I'd like to tell.
