Another view from my past year trip in Iceland... Here are the Kerlingarfjöll mountains in the center high plains of Iceland.
I was observing an Arctic fox that hunted on the lava fields near the Hveravellir hot spot when, in a few minutes, the light came to the mountains in the background.
I remember my feeling while I admired the landscape, impressed by the contrast of the dark lava clear white peaks, illuminated by sunlight comming from the north...

The volcanic area near the Landmannalaugar in Iceland... I remember the vast, colorfull and desertic feeling of the place... The weather was quite good, but really cold with constant wind coming from the north...
The feeling of walking on another planet...

Hello!

Here is a picture taken last week in the french alps from the summit of Saulire in the valley of Meribel.
I liked how the way the sweet light illuminated the snowy mountains, under the dark clouds...

The last light of a warm sunset at the summit of Mount Thabor in french alps... A great moment looking at these growing shadows over the cliffs... The night was clear and quite cold at 3178m high...

A shot from a couple of years ago of the iconic cipresso trees near San Quirico d'Orcia, Tuscany.
This is the "classic" view of the trees, where they are sidelit from the right. I was initially reluctant to shoot from this angle because, as it was so early in the year the grass wasn't all that long and there are the various bald patches where the earth shows through. I countered this in my original submission (below) by shooting from a different angle and keeping the camera really low (something that can't be done from this side because of the nature of the terrain), but it's this view that really captures the undulating nature of the location.
It looks peaceful, but anyone who's been here will recognize that to shoot from this angle you have to be standing pretty much underneath a concrete flyover for a major road.

I've got plenty of new stuff to submit, but most of them are waterscapes, and I like to keep my submissions varied if I can, so I'm mixing up more recent shots with older ones I never got around to submitting here.

My other shot from the same location

A view from my last trip to Scotland last september... Here is the well know Buachaille Etive Mòr mountain in the scottish highlands... A majestic pyramidal mount standing at the gate of Glen Etive... As often, the sky was dark, and the rain not so far, a great remember!
