Ages long gone and ages long passed
Shades of grey, man's memory fades fast
The glory days told of old
Shines as brightly as silver and gold
Before the dark, before the strife
Before many of the spans of life
There lied the glory that men bore
The gilded light of Westernesse's shore
That era of brilliance, that age of wealth
That time of wisdom and of great health
Those days are passed or so it is said
As now the great kings of lore lie dead
Is there a hope against such reckless hate?
Where does it lie? The enemy's gate
Draws nearer every day
And now there is little that holds him at bay
But still we hold on to legends and tales
What more will we have when the strength of men fails?
There is still one yet who holds the power
To aid this land in its darkest hour.
From father to son, the title has been given
In the shadows these brave people have striven
To drive away the darkness that besets all
While there is still life in them, men shall not fall
I know the king shall come again, f

I don't think anything could have "prepared" us for what happened, though maybe Armageddon. Yeah. Armageddon might have whipped us into shape.
Harvest fell. In a storm of fire and alien hatred, it fell, and millions of lives fell with it.
Nobody saw it coming. I mean, there are spooks and spies and masterminds high up in the hush-hush intelligence bracket, but I doubt even the smartest sleuth out of all of 'em could have seen the way it played out. It just happened. It happened, and all we could do was sit there, paralyzed, during the whole ordeal.
Correction: not all of us sat there and gaped like fishes. A few good men and women went to do something about it. They were the bravest of the brave the cream of the crop, as my grandmother would put it. They went into the valley of the shadow without a second thought, doing their duty to protect and preserve their f

Legolas: She told me it was a beauty pageant!
Aragorn: That's not as bad as what she told me! She said she had the shards of Elendil!

Question 1: Have any of you ever considered dumping Frodo?
Boromir: (standing up quickly) Why would we? He's the Ringbearer! How could we--
Me: I think you better sit down, Boris.
Aragorn: Well, he did get annoyingly weepy at times--
Me: Aha! A confession!
Aragorn: ...but I'd say he's gone through some major changes in his life.

What the color of her eyes were and her scars or how she got them
It’s been two years since the death of Sherlock; since the death of her lover. Agony has taken its toll on the woman. How she wouldn’t eat at all. How she barely slept with the memory replaying in her head every night. How she sanity shattered constantly to the brink of suicide only to be cut short by John and Mary. How every night she took a blade and cut her own wrists.
As the telling signs of age rain down a single tear is dropping
Through the valleys of an aging face that this world has forgotten
The consulting detective never thought of how much he had hurt her. Not until she walked out the door without a word leaving him standing alone in the middle of the living room. She didn’t see that one tear drop that fell down his sharp cheekbone.
There is no reconciliation that will put me in my place

I woke up the next morning on the floor still. I got up and yawned. "What time is it?" I mumbled to myself and looked at the clock. Six in the morning. Nice. I got up and took a shower. I got dress and dried my hair like I usually do. I walked to the kitchen and made some tea. I yawned once again and leaned on the counter. It sucks being alone in this world. Rain tapped on the window and my phone started to ring. I answered. "Hello?" The director was on the other side and he told me that filming was canceled do to rain. I shrugged it off and hung up. A free day to do absolutely nothing. I made my tea and set it next to the chocolates. "Curse my diet. Oh screw it." I grumbled and opened the box. The smell of the expensive German chocolates were awesome. I took a piece and ate it. Nice and rich. I laid on my back eating the piece and I remembered my detective books. I got back up and looked for my favorite book. It was one of the Sherlock books. I grabbed one and went back to my seat. A

O gentle willow dreams of eve,
Your rainy tresses downward grieve,
Grieve as upon deep mire's lake
Your tears for Man's brief earthly wake;
Your green rippled to orange glow
Antiphony of the song I know:
It's words as mangled leaves from tongue
Pleas of a pauper drowning young.
O poor I am from a tree gone wry --
Her hair of midnight and river's sigh,
Her limbs slender to match your flair
And dimples mild as twilight fair.
Yet O willow, my willow tree
T'was joy in her passing glimpse to see,
Though distant she as shore of lake
Your picturesque view... in you I wake
My grieving senses long from sleep
Through shadowed years, my self-caused deep
From trudging earth's prolonged mires
Seeing pain masked in man's desires
For all the willows of mortal world
Whose rustling voices as eve unfurled
In dexterous limbs a-beckoning ...
And gone was power of reasoning
As sun curtsies her well-worn head
As you O willow, in humble stead,
Know I, though with grief upon grief

Since I was little everyone told me that fire was to be feared.
That it was a tool used to protect but when used wrong a double bladed knife.
You play with fire and you'll get burned.
That with light comes pain. That is the way of life.
I used to stick my finger in the flame.
It hurt. It burned.
But to me it was a way to escape the pain.
A way to hold it back. To keep it tamed.
Slowly flames grew bigger, brighter.
With a power that consumes everything in its path.
Deep, rare, powerful, hungry, that is fire.
Not only passion but a deep rath.
It eats a person from the inside out.
Until it is released.
A rage the burns, but you don't even know what it is about.
Then it hides again, not gone but hidden for a time. Leaving you with a false sence of relief.

Once upon a time there was a village, and in the village lived a man.
The man had a small property, a hut, located on a very distant corner of the village.
This man had been a very helpful member of the community, and also a hero.
But now, he was very sad. Every night when he sat near the fireplace he remembered happier times, when his wife and his two children shared the warmth of the fire, and laughter and love filled their home.
He remembered how -if it was not too cold or snowing too heavyly they'd climb a nearby hill. They would always bring water with them for a beautiful wild plant that bloomed all year long. It had dozens of gorgeous purple flowers that made his wife and daughter clap their hands and smile in delight. His wife always took some home when they left, to put them in a vase in the center of the dining table. She thought that these flowers protected their home and he tho
