Is this the END of Nintendo?I don't know if all of you saw the news recently, but according to some info provided, looks like Nintendo could be in deep sh*t at the moment. Is this the END of Nintendo?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Nintendo's share value over the past five years
Just when we thought one of the huge pioneers of videogames could be in top of the world.....according to some investigations, the recent years weren't that good for nintendo. You need a reason? well, let's call them Wii U and 3DS. Yep, probably you will hate me if you are a huge fan of them, but just telling what I investigated. It's not the first time Nintendo got beaten in the console war (on certain generations). Check for example the Nintendo 64. The Super Nintendo was a huge hit, so at the entrance of the 3D world, Nintendo 64 was popular, I don't doubt it, but Sony just came with the PlayStation and said "hey world, we have something better!", and they weren't lying, Playstation 1 simply destroyed N64, but talking about sales (If you think the N64 was better, then that's your problem, I lik

It's been announced that Soul Caliber 2 will be gracing the 360 and PS3 later this year. Gotta say, Nintendo sure can't get a break. Everyone knows that the only reason to play Soul Caliber 2 was to play as Link on the gamecube kicking everyone's ass. There's been no announcement of a Wii-U version, and there probably wont' be. It's times like this I have to wonder if there really is a conspiracy against Nintendo from 3rd party developers with how often they abandon or don't even consider their console at all.
Man of Steel 2 and Justice League
Warner Bros's pattern of using the same people they think have the "golden touch" to a franchise is showing again as they've signed on Zack Snyder again for Man of Steel 2. The movie will also feature Batman and will serve as a tie-in to the inevitable Justice League movie.
While this is cool and all... I have to say I'm a little hesitant. Marvel was gung-ho about making an Avengers movie an

I haven't reached the point where I think I'm good at this. that's the drive. i know that its in me to be really good at it. and i think i've come close a few times, but i don't usually look at things i've completed and feel content. To be creative is a way of thinking. When you observe what’s around you, what are the things you pick up and store in your memory?
(Only look at this image for a few seconds and then scroll it out of the frame)
This was an image of the 2013 World photography awards.
I’ve just shown it to you for about 10 seconds. What do you still remember from it?
The pigeons that fly around? The fact that these pigeons were white? The notion of all the Blue in the image , so well in the building as in the clothing of the women. Or did you remember the two kids that seem to be the cause of the birds fleeing the scene.
Someone with an interest towards architecture probably lingered his eyes at the building and recognized it’s style culture and perhaps knows of it’s build method. While someone with an interes

Two people asked for this, so I might as well do so this as a list instead of individual features.
If anyone else wants to be featured on the list, just tell me, and link me to your journal pertaining the base requests as well (if you have one. If you don't, that's okay, too.), and I'll put your name up here. If you are no longer taking base requests, and your name is still up here, please let me know so I can remove you.

Art as a SadhanaAn art is a Sadhana(spiritual effort), an ever learning process in which an artist is always a student. He may or may not have a physical teacher. But he is always taught by his own thoughts and sense perceptions. Nature is the greatest teacher and one learns a lot of things just by observing her. The work of the nature and the Physical teacher is to help a student to discover his own inner Self which is the inner guide and teacher. And once the inner self starts to guide an artist, art will flow out of him spontaneously. It is this state of spontaneity, an artist must aspire to achieve because without spontaneity it is impossible to achieve perfection.Art as a Sadhana3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Perfection as for as an artist is concerned is an ability of the artist to paint on a canvas or carve in a stone perfectly the image which he had in his mind. That is, if the physical image created by an artist is a perfect replica of his mental image, only then his art-work can be termed as perfect. Practically speaking it is almost im

Yes, comments are disabled on her YouTube video. But honestly, why does everyone see this as a "problem?" I know it's common wisdom to assume that if you hide comments you're "scared" of receiving criticism or some other bullshit, but think beyond that please.
1) Comments enabled would just allow hate speech and actual sexism to persist because the internet has already determined that everyone hates Anita. No matter how thoughtful or constructive your criticisms might be, YouTube's 500 character limit isn't the best place to give it, plus it would be drowned out by the trolls and haters spewing negativity.
2) Her videos are also meant more as a teaching tool, not a vlog series, and as such are potentially going to be used in classrooms. Probably a good idea to keep nasty comments of homophobia, racism, sexism, etc off of the main source of the video. I think that's backed up beautifully by having her tell parents to preview the

My 2 cents about educationON THE SUBJECT OF SCHOOLS, I FELT COMPELLED TO CHIME IN. If you can afford an expensive school then take it if you like but if you can't then obviously don't go to an expensive school. Just like you wouldn't buy a car you couldn't afford. My 2 cents about education2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The best thing about the "good" schools are the students because when you hear a school is great everybody flocks there, including many of the most talented... but notice I said "many" and not "all" the most talented.
"Superstars" can come from city, any shape, any color, ANY AGE. We've seen it many times before.
The best way to cultivate talent is to interact with other talented or potentially talented people. It just makes us all work even harder. I had the great fortune of being in the same school and year with Pixar's James Robertson, Dani Strijleva, Ben Su and John Lee. And these are just a handful of the very talented people from my year. Just by being in the same class, this has influenced me to work harder than ever when I really didn't w

When I was a kid I wanted to be just like my father. He passed away when I was 28 but man he left a mark! By the time I was a teenager I was a lot to handle - so we hardly ever saw eye to eye. He was a tough and talented man. To me he was like a super hero. He had a very black and white philosophy about life. He defined right and wrong very distinctly - there was no grey in his world. As a kid, a philosophy like that makes complete sense even if it isn't very realistic. He was a former pro boxer turned commercial artist. Eventually he ran his own ad agency. He could play guitar and piano by ear and played baseball as often as he could. He also loved comi

The Ageless: Krocken stopped aging when he turned 21 (much to his dismay).
Animal Motif: Beetles. His sword is the fused form of two beetle spirits, and portions of their bodies are sometimes incorporated into attacks
Anti-Antichrist: He was born to Deathwing and Biollante for the purpose of brining in eternal darkness onto worlds and causing misery for all mortals. He winds up rejecting that path when it’s brought up to him, due to being raised by mortals, his experiences, and his love for Schala
Anti-Hero: He is tough and uncompromising to his foes and sarcastic and bitter towards his allies, but nevertheless follows a form of honor and watches over his allies
Badass: Oh, yes. He is very skilled and strong fighter

Obsolete InkingLately I've been doing work for DC Direct--the wing of DC in charge of statues, toys, etc. It's been a nice break from PRJ. The money is good, and it hasn't been soulless like I imagined. Corporate gigs can go either way--sometimes they want you to do exactly what "they" want, other times they want you to do your thing unencumbered. Luckily this was the latter.Obsolete Inking4 years ago in Personal More Like This
The rates for toy designs are broken down into three parts: you get paid for the sketches, the final pencils and the inks. For this gig, the inking rate was higher than my normal inking rate. It felt good, but then I realized that 25% of my fee was for inks. And it raised an unsettled concern that's been on my mind.
How long will inkers be needed?
In the old days they needed inkers because computers weren't yet being used in print. I forget the name of the machine that preceded the scanner (process cameras?), but it was low-tech enough that i
