Hello!

I am finally back from my ( too short ) trip to Patagonia ( Chile & Argentina ) this mid April 2011

let me tell you a short story behind this image .. with my poor english ( I am sorry for that )

The night before we were backpacking in "Chileno " camp , shelter already closed .. no one around .. alone in the dark forest by the river .
this night was frozen , the temperature reached - 6 ° C . we were supposed to get up very early ( 5.30 AM ) to have the time to reach the peaks for sunrise ...

My friend Cyril has left the tent during the night because he was too cold .. I was looking for him at 5.30 AM .. I saw something like his headlight in the night .. I called him but no one answered ..

Then I realized .. this is not my friend and his lamp ... these are EYES .. of a creature .. staring at me .. and now it approach .. I stepped back in the tent .. with moonlight I saw the shape of a big cat x4 .. a PUMA , in fact .. ! mmh
I don't know the danger about this animal .. and I am a very anxious person .. So it was a special moment !

we finally reached the peaks just before this clear sunrise after 2h route in the forests and rocks .

The original french text is visible on my facebook page or my website ..

This is TORRES DEL PAINE . CHILE .

This image, even though maybe a bit classical in its vision , is unfortunatly almost the only one on which we can really behold the magnificience and surreal appearance of these unearthly peaks ..

We had terrible conditions during our trek , very heavy bags ( 25 Kg ) and too fast and tired on the tracks .. I would have love to capture these landscapes with dramatic light and abstract vision but I definetly need more time in the field , .. to compose, to FEEL nature around.

I hope to go back for at least 1 month .

I still have the idea of organizing a workshop there, it would be amazing ; you can send me a note if you feel interested to learn photography in these areas with me .

If you are interested to buy the picture, I have the same without the person ( me ) .

New ID

_____Random Info
Today exactly 7 years ago I joined DA and I thought I should 'celebrate' a little by editing a new ID although my last one isn't even a year old. Again this shot was taken by my buddy ~emats; this time on our Portugal trip last spring. I was keen on some star imagery and thus we drove straight up on the top of Mount Torre the highest elevation in the country to get some. Sadly it was full moon and the humidity was quite high still we got way more stars than were I live when conditions are way better.

This specific shot was taken westward where the milky way ought have been but you can't really see it due to the moon which is just outside the frame on the left side. Actually intended a test shot I by accident got in the frame and later moved, but somehow I liked the composition with me in the lower right corner thus I told Sven not to delete it so I could edited it later on.

It was pretty cold and windy thus after trying to get a good shot for a couple of hours driving around on the mountain we simply slept in the car because we were to lazy to set up the tent in the freezing winds. Next day I took this shot: [link] which is now ~emats ID.

Lost inside my mind, lost inside the forest and usually lost behind the camera, however not today!

I thought this was an interesting concept, something a bit different from me. It shows my true colours, my appreciation for the environment and the intimacy I come across every time I adventure into the forest.

This is Hohenschwangau Castle in Baviera, near Munchen.
I was very lucky that was a beautiful sunny day.. I was here for my school trip.
A person said that this photo is too much "photoshopped". I've only adjusted curves and levels. Probably this person doesn't know what is a "polarizer filter" -.-

<edit> I think I've made a point of the fact that I'm always out of time and out of space much toο often so I guess that by now it has sunk in. Chosing the first day of winter to put up my autumn ID proves that point beyond doubt. I just wanted to give you a sneak preview of what's next, I really hope you like this place, cause I have a couple of shots from it to show you.

Have a wonderful last month of the year all of you :) </edit>

This photo represents exactly what its title says. It's not Justeline captured by *KirlianCamera but made by *KirlianCamera. By his sheer willpower, madening stubborness, annoying insistence that everything be done HIS way (even more annoying the fact that it turned out every time that it was the right way), a smothering slap on my face with tons of incomprehensive information about all the basics (all in just one go) and a few nasty bites!

In the process he may have created a monster, but at least it's a happy and very much alive monster and I sure hope that at least he likes it. It's more than enough for me.

Thank you sir! :salute:[link]

I shot this little panorama from the Lagazuoi Refuge, that is on the peak of Mount Lagazuoi above the Falzarego Pass (Dolomites).

I went there last summer, the path to reach this point was quite frightening because of the height, that day clouds covered everything and we had to climb very carefully if we didn't want to vanish into thin air. Luckily more than half of the track was indoor, because we chose to climb into the restored tunnels, trenches and emplacements where soldiers fought the first world war.
