Auri jerks out of bed for a moment and glances around the her dark bedroom, waiting for her eyes to adjust. She sits up in bed and yawns before she reaches for the light switch on her lamp nearby when she hears a sudden creak of metal outside. The Four freezes for a moment and listens hard.
She hears the creak again only this time it is fainter, sounding off farther down.
Is someone trying to get in? the commander thinks to herself as she gets out of from under the warm covers. Once her bare feet hit the cold metal flooring, she's grateful she had slept in warm clothes. The winters at this base were brutal, the captain had told her and he was right. The Four reaches into her nightstand nearby and picks up her pistol before she pads quietly across the room to her door. She eases it open and glances out. Blue eyes squint into the darkness before she opens the door.
Silence greets the Spartan as she steps out into the dark hallway. She looks left and right before walking forw

Matthew and the Blue BoxI didn't tell the Aldermen.Matthew and the Blue Box3 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
Of course I didn't, I hardly ever told them anything. It was mostly out of spite but their pretentious attitudes towards all things not Alderman had a habit of getting under my skin.
Besides that, we wanted to do this on our own.
Something in the city was restless. I mean, this was London and London never really slept but night tended to be a fair deal calmer than the day (all magical entities aside and we'd had more than our reasonable share of those lately). This night, on the other hand, I had felt something...bend. I didn't know what it was and we were curious so we went out and walked.
I had not walked (in the magical sense, not the normal sense) since my inauguration and I was somewhat wary to do it again considering how I had ended up last time. But as soon as I had set off, I'd felt the safety of the city surrounding me. The shadows and ghosts whispered around me, their dark fingers plucking at the hem of my long coat, peeling away from the he
LW 1. No Small Coincidences When he came to, it was daylight. And Fenrir was tied to a tree, staring into the face of a very angry looking Nord. She had night-black hair, tangled, and pine green eyes, bloodshot. She looked like she hadn’t slept in a week. Though the girl was beautiful and young - not possibly past her mid-twenties, she was not exactly the most comfortable person to wake up being glared at.LW 1. “Is he awake?”
Fenrir’s eyes darted to the figure behind the girl, the one who must have spoken. Now that they were up close, Fenrir could better appreciate the Nord’s build. He was tall and muscular, with dark hair and black war paint on his eyes that made them appear bruised. He wore wolf armor. Companion armor. Uh-oh.
“Aye, Vilkas. And if he doesn’t cooperate, he’s going to regret opening his eyes.”
The elf fixed his attention back on the girl, frowning at her threatening remark. “I’m guessing I’ve done something
Can you Keep a Secret 3Mental note: telling your boss that one of the government's biggest secrets just happened to slip out into the public world was not a good idea. Alfred's boss hadn't yelled at him when he had given the man a ring on the phone, but the sheer intensity lying behind his rather monotone voice was enough to give the American nation the willies. It was in that terrifying monotonous voice the President demanded that Alfred come to his New York office immediately. Going to the office building meant going out into the street and going out into the street meant facing Jimmy Mallory and his loyal band of followers still hanging around outside the American's apartment building like a bunch of creepy stalkers. Obviously Alfred's boss couldn't come to him since that would make them even more suspicious. A line of police cars, dozens of secret service agents, and a big jet black car with two American flags gracing the antennas wasn't exactly what you'd call discreet. So the only option left would beCan you Keep a Secret 34 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
Dr. Cox's Rants 2Jacob Black stormed through the white halls of Sacred Heart Hospital. He had heard about what that- that vampire had caused. How he had caused his Bella to be harmed so horribly. "And speaking of Fido, here he comes now. Come here boy! Come here!"
Jacob almost instinctively snapped at him, "I am NOT a dog!"
"No. Technically, you are not a dog. You are a wolf. But I refuse to insult wolves like that. Therefore, 'dog' is the most appropriate name for you. But dogs do have a higher IQ than you, Fido. So I guess you've been demoted again. This time to 'puppy.' But, puppies are normally cute, cud

Abel x EstherA garden, during the night. I could smell the roses in full bloom, but the air was rather cool even for this time of year.Abel x Esther2 years ago in Romance More Like This
The lights shined from the laps over my head, offering the only form of light I could use to see with besides the light of the fun moon. Her celestrial presence evident as she glowed brightly in the night sky above like a diamond pendant. The sight of which was presented to my eyes was nothing short of breathtaking...
A dream...maybe that was what this is. No...that couldn't be...
No dream could be this surreal yet be so real at the same time.
The breeze picked up as I took a step forward, my bare feet touching the icy cold cobblestone walkway I mysteriously found myself advancing on. As I continued to walk I felt the wind pick up, and as a result the rose petals began to dance in the wind. They flew past my figure, some of which grazed my cheeks as well as my bare shoulders, the scent prevailing over everything else, calming my senses and warming my heart.
Story Stuff: NamingStory Fluff: NamingStory Stuff: Naming2 years ago in Sci-Fi More Like This
Now, science fiction has given us a plethora of names that we can give our characters. In such a setting, we can be expected to give our heroes names that we can be familiar with, or in a lot of cases, we can give them names that are - quite frankly - out of this world. The best example I can give for Human names being in the extreme has to be Star Wars. No other story I have ever read in a while has had such crazy, very sci-fi names in them. Characters called things like Garm, Kadir, Qui-Gon, Evazan, the list can go on. Of course, the out there names coexist alongside 'regular' ones like Luke, Alexander, Jacen (originally meant to be 'Jason'), Kyle, and many more examples.
I can't think of many more franchises that have completely out there names. I suppose Dune could be one of the other ones. Names like Paul, Duncan, Vladamir, and Gurney existed along names like Feyd-Rautha, Thufir, and Glossu. Granted though, this story takes place over 10,000 years from no

Episode #49: Groudon vs. Kyogre!
Blade's friends finally made it on the island where the big battle was about to happen. They continued to search for Blade, wondering if he was here at all. They soon noticed the massive, red monster to the left in the distance. It began to move out into the sea as it prepared to create land once more.
"That can't be..." Joseph said.
"Isn't that Groudon?!" Sam asked.
"This isn't good. Could the legends be true?"
They suddenly saw a Swampert coming out of the water and heading towards the main gathering. His eyes were completely blue and emotionless, as if he was being controlled by something.
"That's a Swampert," Sam said.
"What's it doing here?" Hameida asked.
They suddenly saw a motor boat whizzing through the waters as they saw Blade and Phoebe on it. The boat landed as Blade immediately went to his friends, all of which were happy to see him.
"Blade!" Sam said.
"Guys, you're okay!" Blade replied happily.
"We just saw a Swampe

Episode #40: Surskit's Storm!
With six badges in tow, Blade and the others decided to head off to Lilycove City to have Sam participate in her next contest. Blade knew exactly where the next Gym was and he was excited to see the two again. However, they were sidetracked. Sam had her Poochyena out and now, she was running off somewhere, leaving Sam to chase after her.
"Poochyena!" Sam said. "Poochyena, stop!"
Poochyena suddenly reached a lake where it was sniffing the ground. Sam picked Poochyena up as she wondered what she was doing.
"Poochyena," Sam said. "You know better than to run off like that!"
Poochyena whimpered in sadness. She might have had to go, but why not do it close by. What was so special about this place?
"If you have to go, do it quick!" Sam said.
Poochyena walked around and sniffed the ground for a good spot. Sam looked out at the lake and noticed something whizzing by. It was a blue Pokémon resembling a pond skater with pink markings und
Inner TurmoilWarren sighed, running a hand through his hair. The bandana which was normally on his head was tucked into his backpack; the belt normally strung around his waist hanging from a branch. 'Because you are thinking about betraying them' a voice spoke from the back of his head. Warren jolted up, his stormy gray eyes widening. He hadn't heard that voice since Silene befriended him. He had been given someone to talk to, and no longer needed to talk to himself. "Why are you back?" Warren asked.
'Because, you need me. You're mind is caving in on itself, battling for dominance. The selfish and the selfless. One wishes to turn your friends over to Team Rcket for any information on Silene they can offer; the other wants to stick with your friends. Protect them, and try and find Silene on their own. I am here to advise you on which route to choose.' The voice left n

Episode #78: The New Adventure Awaits!
Morning finally came as Blade's vacation continued. His mother and father were having breakfast in the kitchen while Blade was still sleeping upstairs. He was never a breakfast person, usually skipping if he slept in. They soon heard him and Swampert coming down the stairs as Blade rubbed his eyes, feeling very tired. He was wearing a navy blue shirt with a dark navy blue vest over it and blue jeans.
“Morning, everyone,” Blade said very sleepily.
“Morning, Yaiba,” his mother said. “Sit down and have some breakfast.”
“No thanks, I'm not that hungry.”
He ended up walking out into his backyard to let Swampert run around, and maybe to have his Pokémon get some enjoyment as well. Norman just left him be.
“He's growing to be quite the trainer,” Norman said.
“Yeah. I was actually surprised to hear him say that he beat Steven,” Kurenai said. “That'

It was party time at Jareth's house, and all his friends were there...well, more like "poofed" into coming. It was his birthday, and darn it! He was going to party! He had all his villainous friends with him, though they were not quite as excited as he was...The guests included: The Phantom of the Opera- or Erik- V, a Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Whom no one could remember inviting...), A two-person team- a man with purple hair and woman with long crimson hair, who called themselves "Team Rocket"- several goblins, and a girl.
The girl was unusually tall, standing about six foot two, had long dark brown hair streaked with a shocking medium blue tied up in a pony tale. Her eyes were a golden brown, which is extremely hard to describe, as there's no color quite like it. She wore a plain black short-sleeved turtleneck, and a pair of black cargo-shorts that reached her knees. They showed off her very pale almost white long slender and well-defined muscular arms

Hello. I was told to keep this journal a while ago, yet I didn't see the need for it until now... I...Took my Harrowing today... To be honest, I was terrified. I knew in my heart that I would fail, that I wouldn't be able to do it. That I would lose the moment victory was within my grasp... The mages, they took me to the harrow, and sent me to the fade. I don't quite remember how I was sent, my memories are fuzzy, I remember touching a...Goblet, like thing. With energy. I felt something, like I hadn't felt before, and I was suddenly within the fade.
It was...Something I had never seen before, something I couldn't imagine. It was...Terrifying. It was straight out of my nightmares. I was only a few steps in, and these...things. These creatures made up of pure energy. They shot spells at me, yet I felt nothing. There was no pain, yet my spells seemed to do less and less as I was hit. I eventually fought each one off, making it to an odd rat. He spoke, words cunning and quick. He
