"Hey, guys, look. The midterm results were posted."
A week of exams has come and go, and now, the first term in Grigori Academy was near its end. A couple more weeks of school, and summer would finally enter.
"W-What?! " screamed Morizu.
The exorcists looked at the distressed demon. "What is it, Morizu?" Barrett asked.
Morizu did not speak. Rather, he used to fingers to point at two people in the result rankings.
"Shiki's at top three... and I'm somewhere in the top thirties?"
Shiki gave Barrett a congratulations, then faced Morizu. "So why are you so shocked, Morizu?"
"..." The demon pointed somewhere near the end of the list.
Barrett looked at where Morizu was pointing. "Morizu Shingetsu... Ah. That's what you get for not studying much."
Somehow, Barrett and Shiki weren't surprised with the prince's results.

"Ne, Hiro-kun. You've been staring out that window for a long time. Got something on your mind?"
The exorcist snapped out of his daydream, and faced his demon friend, who was seated right next to him. The two were near the windows of the classroom, which overlooked upon the school's garden. Barrett and Morizu were seated together due to the female class representative, Shiki, suggested that the students' seating arrangements be organized. Organized, meaning, Morizu is as far away from Shiki as possible. Although this suggestion was passed, it came at the price of Barrett being dragged by Morizu to seat next to him. Those two had some kind of strong bond that developed through the days after the angel incident.
"Ah... Nothing. I was just tired from studying all Golden Week. That reminds me..." Barrett suddenly wore a serious face. "Why aren't you studying for the midterms?"
