quiero ver el lado oscuro de la luna;
quiero probar la sangre de quienes no tienen fortuna,
quiero perturbarme con silencios ya quemados por el sol.
quiero perderme en el abismo de los cielos;
quiero tocar al destino con estos sucios, pálidos, dedos;
un nuevo comienzo, un nuevo presente;
una oscuridad que no tanto palpite
que sólo desaire, que sólo marchite...

Although in velvet darkness now
My body has been laid,
I dream of when the time will come
That I will soon be played.
I rest in lifeless silence like
A corpse within a tomb,
Awaiting heaven's sunny bliss
But doomed to bide in gloom.
Inside my frame of steel and wood,
My soul resounds with song.
I yearn to let it soar upon
The stage where I belong.
I want to shine beneath the lights
And show the world my art.
I want to seize the chance to play
The music from my heart.
For someday, worn by use and time,
I shall be cast aside.
No longer will I grace the stage
Aglow with joyous pride.
Then I'll be locked away, until
The songs in me are stilled,
My strings contorted into knots,
My promise unfulfilled.
One Piece: The Mystery of El DoradoThe cool air blew past the crew of the Thousand Sunny, the sails flapping sharply in the breeze. The tangy scent of salt filled the air around them, the spray of the water occasionally throwing up into sight ahead of them. One crew member in particular, a somewhat short, thin man with a large cross shaped scar on his chest was kneeling over the railing, dangling his arms over the edge, staring moodily into the water. He seemed to be deep in thought until he looked over his shoulder and shouted, somewhat childishly, “Are we theeeeeeeere yet?”One Piece: The Mystery of El Dorado2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
A shapely woman with orange hair scoffed and looked up from the map she was reading. “Come on Luffy! Do you even see any islands around here? We’ve still got a long way to go!”
Luffy groaned and banged his head against the railing. “But this is so boring! You said this was going to be a fun adventure!”
“Well I’M having fun.” She said with a smile, clasping her hands together as she closed
Just Another VictimLily awoke in a room with a dozen other unknown women. Each girl was in their early to mid-twentys and each girl was naked. Very little was in common among the girls, some were blonde, others were brunettes, one was a red-head and the others had raven colored hair. And each girl had a different ethnicity, some didn't even speak English. But none of the girls knew where they were or how they got where the were now.Just Another Victim5 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

The silence was deafening, each time a sound echoed in the room, all the girls would quickly turn to the noice in a panicked motion. There was a large door at the end of the room that was sealed from the outside, if one of the girls dared to go near it, they would nto be able to escape.
Several tense minutes went by, though they seemed like days, when the door finally opened. What the girls sa

Haraan almost let go of the cable. His friend hadn't delivered one of his funnier lines; he had delivered a weirder one, and Haraan couldn't make sense of his words and remain suspended fifty feet above the vulgar crowd at the same time. He alternated between pulling with his arms and bringing his legs in until he had shimmied to the other end of the cable. Once his feet were planted on that higher rooftop, he was safe to call back to his friend on the roof below.
"Jasti, where did you get that from?"
The addressed slung himself under the cable and grinned, his wild corn-muffin hair bobbing in the breeze. "A book," he replied.
"Quotes to Mess with Haraan's Concentration While He's Striding, naturally."
The mast anchoring the cable to the second roof twanged in distress. It bowed under the load of Jasti's large frame, but, like countless others before it, would not give. Naturally, Haraan mad

"You are an idiot," Duncan whispered hoarsely. Lance smiled as he carried his brother into the forest.
After an hour of wandering, they stopped at a boulder that was being strangled by the tree growing atop it. Lance felt that this place would make for a nice campsite.
Lance gently laid Duncan down on near where three tree roots merged together as they crept beneath the boulder. He set about making a circle of rocks to mark the pit for a fire. After he filled the circle with an armful of branches, he walked over to a nearby rotting log, and punched a hole in it. Dozens of frightened land crabs poured out of their now-violated sanctuary. Lance picked up a few handfuls of the squirming, pinching creatures, and casually tos

What are the Zenn?
The Zenn are a sentient species who originate on a large rocky, ice-planet. Their bodies are adapted to subzero temperatures, high altitudes, and 1.4 G's of gravity. They are best suited for climbing and running 'short' distances of ten miles or so, and their manner of moving is best described as being like parkour. They emphasize what they are saying with very expressive body language. Their language is made up of 9 distinct languages that can be spoken separately from one another and don't share similar roots but are most commonly spoken interchangeably with the prevalence of one over another dependent on region.
The Zenn recognize 9 biological sexes categorized into 3 reproduction-based categories (there are others that lie outside of that categorization method), and 15 gender-identities. Pronouns are based more upon those main 3 categories but many Zenn have the option and opt to use pronouns reflecting their internal identity.

Other, you ask? Thatd be my kind. You know, the ones that keep the noble life worth living. The ones behind the scenes. Or rather, behind your chair with a knife.
Anyway, there was the banquet. Everyone far and wide came to the great halls of the castle to partake in the merriment. The privileged few of the higher classes showed up in their carriages and whatnot, dressed as sharply as they dared, although most of the guests simply showed up on the grounds wearing a shirt they felt had the least amount of holes. But regardless of ones social status, all were herded into the main hall for the presentation of the Queen and the Kings daughter, as well as the initiation of the feast.
Now normally those twod simply show up at the Kings s

Sick isn't something
You can see.
When I'm standing there -
Fists bracing -
For 'no reason at all',
I hope it makes you
Feel big and tall,
To tell me I'm being stupid.
When I can't talk to someone -
Because my throat is dry,
And I feel sick,
Like I can't
Catch my breath,
Like I'm going to cry
Like I'm hurtling
Towards death -
Don't tell me to
'Get over myself'.
When I'm crying -
And my knees
And I'm too scared
And every heart
Makes me jump -
How can you tell me
I need to 'grow up'?
When I can't get on a bus -
Because so many people,
So many eyes,
And my mind is force-feeding
Me so many lies -
Don't tell me I 'think I'm better
Than everyone else'.
I'm trying my hardest.
Really, I am.
Would you tell someone with a broken leg
To just get up and walk?
Would you tell someone with no tongue
To open their mouth and talk?
Would you tell a wingless angel
So tell me why -
When it is

It was a nice day, the sun was shining and the sky above was a beautiful blue with a few wisps of clouds that were left over from the storm that happened the other day. The ground still held evidence of the rain storm they had the other night and that was the cause of all of Hiccup's problems.
It was a few days since he found black dragon in the beautiful trench and he had just gotten enough trust from the dragon (thanks to the fish) to be down there with him, slowly getting to know each other. The Night Fury was still wary of him, but Hiccup liked the dragon and decided to name him Toothless, after his impressive ability to sheath his tee

The voice of the ursaring still seemed so clear in her head, as if two nights hadn't already passed since then. That was just wishful thinking, of course, because she had finally arrived to that point in time where she would have to make the next move. It wasn't the decision itself that was difficult no matter how she tried to avoid Grizzly, he could easily hunt down many of her friends that lived in Poke Town with her, and she knew she simply wouldn't be able to live with herself if the ursaring killed anyone dear to her. No, the choice was obvious: She was to meet Grizzly in the empty, freezing lands of Winden, where they would settle their quarrel once and for all without having to worry about ensuring the protection of the pokemon she cared the most about. Hiccup was tired. It was evident in the way he laid heavily on Toothless' neck and barely paid attention to his directing of his companion's tail. Not that it really mattered, they were flying gently and Hiccup could navigate Toothless now in his sleep.
The brown haired boy sighed and traced little circles into Toothless' neck as he turned his head to lay his cheek against the warm scales. He looked out over the beautiful landscape and gave a little grin at the sparkling water and the green trees and the elegant looking rocks. The sky was also turning down for the night, and the sun casted a beautiful shadow over the area and the sky was a gorgeous symphony of reds, pink

Flurry ended up coming in second. When we flew back down to the Island shore Hiccup had congratulated Flurry excitedly while I was busy staring down the two Speedy Deaths that were still watching me. I growled lowly before turning my attention to the next event that the Elder had announced. This one was for the Spiky Tails. The trees that the Sharp Wings cut down in their race were set up in a row and the Spiky Tails had to hit as many of the trees with one swipe from their tail. Since the spikes were the color of their tail, it was easier if only one dragon of each color was in the contest.
I figured that during this time, it would be a good chance to pull Hiccup aside and try to explain to him what was going on. As multiple dragons began to set up the trees, I grabbed Hiccup by his sleeve and pulled him over so we were slightly shielded by the Island. He looked at me curiously and noticed my anxious expre

Hiccup grinned to himself as he ran back to his house after dragon training. He had successfully "defeated" a dragon without harming the beast and he was glad. He knew that if he actually hurt one of the dragons, he'd never be able to look Toothless in the face.
His smile widened at the thought of his black dragon and he hopped the stairs up to his house two at a time so he could get there faster. Today was an extremely hot day. Extremely hot. So today instead of going flying with Toothless, he had something different planned.
He opened the door to his house and went to the cellar, that stored their fish and he grabbed his pack and filled it. He

Birds are pretty. That's what I decided as I laid quietly in the morning sun and watched two pretty little birds fly around in the trees. I felt a pang of unhappiness as I realized that I used to be able to do that, but instead of trees, I flew around pillars or rocks and oceans and even the stars and the moon! (At least in my own mind). I huffed in unhappiness before I heard a rustle over on the other side of my lake (It is mine, for I live here now.) I was on edge for a second until I saw a head of brown pop out from the hole that was above rock like stair steps and I snorted dismissively. It was just that human.
The human had been stalking me for the past few days

There are times when I simply watch them race through cold, shrouded forests. When I stretch out a trembling hand and silently beg one of them to place their muzzle against my fingers so that I may feel true strength with my own skin. When my heart pounds louder than a summer storm as they sprint together in one pack, their breaths stirring together in savage harmony. When I long to run alongside them, my soul more free than I could ever possibly imagine.
And then there are times where I am one of them. I can taste the crisp moonlight on my tongue as my paws kick up half-frozen mud; I can smell the fervor of the pack as we hunt, a scent so rich that the first time I experienced it, I felt as if I would go mad. I can hear everything from the exhaling of the wolf bounding beside me to the scrambling of a squirrel desperate to flee as it scampers up a tree fifteen feet away. A beaten up jukebox played old country songs in the corner of the bar. Outside, the mid-afternoon sun beat down on the cracked clay floor. The rocks surrounding the small mining town of Cripple Creek almost seemed to glow in the heat, and the horizon was half-hidden by haze. The township went about its business under the watchful eye of the local Dominion garrison.
But those in the Pink Moon sheltered from that world. The barman, Townes, was an old war veteran with only one arm. In place of the other was a crude robotic substitute. He served up drinks with little more than a vice, powered by a handful of servos which were connected to his arm just below the elbow. He was strangely proud of the device he'd often joke that he'd never play piano again, but his sex-life had improved tremendously.
Old Ma Haggard sat at the other side of the bar, smoking. She, like alm

"I don't like this game anymore!!" Hiccup cried as he ran around the lake that was in the middle of a beautifully green trench.
There was a rumble and Hiccup ducked as a black dragon jumped over his head, clearly trying to tackle him. Hiccup changed direction and ran the other direction, his little body getting extremely tired. Toothless whipped around and followed, prancing happily, clearly enjoying chasing the boy around.
'This is the last time I play tag with Toothless!' Hiccup thought, breaths puffing out of him faster than he was running. It has started out innocently enough, Hiccup had a day off from Dragon Training and of course he had run down to his favorite trench to be with his favorite dragon.

Feel Like a Failure? On MistakesFeel Like a Failure?4 years ago in Philosophical More Like This
So you feel like a failure? Like your whole life is just one mistake after the other? The truth is, we all feel that way, because that's what life is, really. One shortcoming after another. But there's good news in that.
A smart man follows advice when it's first given, but a wise man learns it from experience. And what is experience, but trial and error? If you are right the first time, then you know how to do something, but if you make the mistake, you learn twice as much; what to do, and what NOT to do.
Mistakes are a teacher's greatest aspect. I used to think that in order to help people, I had to be perfect myself, but I find that through my failures and my shortcomings, I can offer the best advice. I've learned that from the people who've taught me as well. My parents aren't perfect, nor are they gallant military folk or 'heroes' by the modern sense of the word, but its through their humbleness that they've taught me some of the greatest lessons, and it's that very co
