THE REAL MENACE OF THE PHANTOM MENACE
It is a time of great upheaval. Movie goers and young people are in dispute over which is better, George Lucas' classic original Star Wars trilogy made from 1977-1983 or his prequels made from 1999-2005.
Hoping to resolve the matter, freelance Washington ciniphile and critic Alec attempted to review the most debated and least liked of the Star Wars saga, "Episode I The Phantom Menace."
So far, Alec's attempts to review the film have been met with him nitpicking and criticizing the film's unsubtle political agenda, lack of logical thinking and the uselessness of Jar-Jar Binks and his attempts at comedy. But Alec is taking off the gloves and finally going to finish the review, regardless of what his peers or the fans think

THE STAR WARS FANBASE STRIKES BACK
It is a dark time for Alec. Although many people agreed that "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace" was poorly written, badly directed and had issues with pacing, Alec made the mistake to make rude and thoughtless remarks towards fellow Swedish Critic, Kurvos, a mistake that forced Alec to hide from the die-hard Star Wars fans who demanded his blood.
Evading the blind-sighted yet dreaded Star Wars Fanbase; Alec re-established his credentials and managed to get back into good graces with his small yet growing fans through his Burning Through Celluloid film analysis reviews, his Cult Corner comedic reviews and even celebrated his 3 year criticizing anniversary by reviewing "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."
Regardless of Alec's ciniphile ways, the Star Wars Fanbase, obsessed with bringing Alec to justice for the crime of expressing his opinion, dispatched

"Rex?" Ahsoka's voice was nothing more than a whisper.
Rex hurried to her side and knelt by her. He grabbed her free hand in his and held it. She squeezed his hand. Her grip was already weak. Rex glanced at her wounds and winced. They were far beyond his skill, or even Kix's, if the medic hadn't deserted years ago. Besides, what good would trying to save her life do when it would lead to her capture and torture? "I'm here." It was all Rex could say.
Ahsoka coughed. "You shouldn't be here, with them." Her gaze landed on Vishi, who crept closer, probably curious about why Rex was holding a rebel's hand instead of finishing her off.
"They're just kids. They need someone to keep them safe," Rex told her, guilt pulsing through him. All his true brothers, Jesse, Kix, and a few others, had deserted years ago while he'd stayed in the Empire, like the terrified boys he'd charged himself with protecting.
Ahsoka held out

Episode II Part II
WHAT'S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?
Despite nobody really asking for it, Alec has returned to Star Wars to criticize Episode II: Attack of the Clones, despite his own nostalgic connections with the movie from his childhood.
Alec's analysis has shown him that, while it actually has a main character with semi-clearer character motivations, the film is boggled by irrational logic and gaping plotholes that one could drive an AT-AT Walker through.
However, Alec did not expect to be sued by the Star Wars Fanbase for emotional distress and, unless he can find a way to prove the jury his innocence, the world of online criticism will die as we know it…
Sadly, we return to the part of the story that I could give a rat's ass about, Anakin and Padme's growing "romance." That transport ship they were supposed to be hiding aboard incognito, lands on Naboo, which lead

Qui Gon Jinn was an ambassador of the Galactic Republic who was sent to settle a dispute of the Trade Federation, the main provider of the republic's army of battle droids, who was planning to leave the Republic forming their own Confederacy of Independent Systems. The negotiations failed and Qui Gon was able to intercept the Trade Federation's conspiracy against the Republic, by invading the middle rim system, starting off with Naboo to sabatoge the Republic's trade routes to the outer rims. On his escape and after crash landing on Tatooine, Qui Gon was captured and enslaved by Jawa. He was then sold a local called Watto. There he met Anakin Skywalker. He finally revealed to be a Jedi after Sith Probes were sent attacking them. Watto offered them a transport but Qui Gon was captured, Anakin was able to escape with C3PO and R2D2 who was carrying the plans. Anakin was guided by Qui Gon through the Force to find his apprentice, Obi Wan Kenobi, who was there to aid local law enforcements

My name is Diana Allers, I was a news reporter during the war... during the war. So strange to think that all of it is over, long finished even as I write this. That I got to watch Reaper shells burning in space outside my window. For the final battle Commander Shepherd had me transfer over to the flagship of Alliance Fleet Admiral Hackett, to get the best view he said. I was there on the bridge for all of it. The desperation, the pain, the sacrifice and... the triumph. The fact that I am alive to write this today proves that we won, that against all odds the galaxy stood together and prevailed.
The fleet took massive casualties in those desperate hours of fighting. Even worse the firing of the Crucible, the super weapon that has delivered us, has also heralded the start of a dark age, where all the universe is cut off fr

Waiting outside the door, Rex knew the footsteps didn't sound like any of his brothers. There was no weight to them, nothing to keep them firmly planted where they needed to be. ANN News Bulletin:
The SR-2 Normandy has officially been recovered and is in-flight to Vandenberg's dry dock facilities. While the return of the ship to it's full status is now at this time a matter of getting the work done and "buffing the paint" according to Normandy's pilot Flight Lieutenant Joker Moreau there is some concern about her final crew member on board. The Normandy secretly featured an unshackled AI named "EDI" who also utilized a synthetic human body originally created for a VI Infiltrator by Cerberus. Admiral Shepherd has informed ANN that every effort is going to be made to return the AI to optimal capacity and that he considers her a member of his crew just like anyone else. Alliance tech specialists assigned to the case who spoke on the condition of anonymity later stated that they were sure EDI would be fully functional in no time.
Engineer 1: "Aye just a few burnt out circuits and the like, nothing too hard to fix even on a body like that one."

War! What is it good for? Absolutely nothing. Okay, that was a joke, but what isn't a joke is Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.
Alec's quest to understand why this is one of the most despised and defended of movies has left him exhausted, frustrated and perplexed how anyone could possibly defend this movie.
Thankfully, Alec's suffering is nearly at an end as he nears the movie's climax, starting with Amidala's idiotic decision to return to Naboo and Qui-Gon explaining the purpose of Midi-chloriants. Praying that by the end of this review, he can finally be free and move onto reviewing actual bad movies; like "Birdemic" or "Battlefield Earth"...
"Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace" is one of the most frustrating movies I've ever had to review!

In 1977, a young rebellious filmmaker by the name of George Lucas, already recognized at the time for films like "THX 1138" and "American Graffiti" created a science fiction epic that would forever change the possibilities of special effects as well as science-fiction in general. That film was "Star Wars" and for many critics and ciniphiles alike, there's no denying it's impact left a huge influence in children and student filmmakers for years. As a film student myself, I made a student film that utilized science-fiction aspects derived from Star Wars (as well as using some soundtracks for it >> but you get my point. "Star Wars" is THE film from our childhoods. The films that were simple enough for kids to follow and root for but also complex enough for adults to connect to. When we all grew up, we understood what the adults dug out of it and so do we as we can appreciate the special effec

Under his white stormtrooper helmet, Rex's gaze darted from one soldier to another. They ran down the canyon path. Only a few attempted to use the canyon wall for cover. Most ran along the trail, some so close to the edge they sent pebbles plunging into the canyon depths. Just because the rebel base was supposed to be five klicks ahead didn't mean there wouldn't be some sort of ambush
These drafted men made the most inexperienced shiny look like a seasoned veteran. Ever since they'd been forced into the war, Rex had made it his full-time duty to keep the boys safe.
Rex paced himself, running more toward the back of the row. Even with the twisting canyon, they were badly exposed on the trail. It was only wide enough for two men to run side by side and the lack of cover worried Rex. The rebels wouldn't miss an opportunity like this.
One of the higher ranking stormtrooper waved to Rex and the other stragglers. "Get a move on. The captain says those rebel

No? You're sure? Well okay then.
Star Wars isn't perfect. It's good sci-fi fun, just like how "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was just an adventure movie to give you the feeling of watching an old adventure serial from the old days, "Star Wars" was originally intended to be a light-hearted adventure that throws the audience into a scenario and ends on a cliffhanger for the possibility of the next serial episode to come next week in the theater.
Anybody whose read my 20+ pages for "The Phantom Menace" and "Attack of the Clones" probably know I prefer the original trilogy more than the prequels. The originals just hold up better for me into adulthood for the emotional resonance and hard work put into the set designers and spe

On a small planet, tucked away in a deep blanket of stars with a fragile sun, a young fox girl wandered through the tree-filled caverns that covered it. Remnants of the ocean were carried in the soft breeze as it swerved along the sloping cliffs and crowded jungles, along with the distinct scent of desolation. The ground was filled with crooked paths, obscured with branches, rocks and vines; the girl could not even maintain a steady jog without tripping. The treetops thatched together a thin roof, so that the sunlight came through in broken patches of sparkling light. Growing tired, the girl saw a particularly large sunbeam coming through a hole in the roof. She walked directly beneath it, cranked her neck upwards, and closed her eyes. As the light tingled the ends of her blue fur with faint but comforting warmth, she could almost hear the voice of someone she used to know, speaking the exact words she had said not too long ago, in a place like this…
