Here's my entry for the Skin a Scion contest. I've always wanted to give a car a crazy paint job. If I had the money and a nice car I'd paint my car like this.

I was going for a fast-motionless feel with the paint peeling off from the car and reveling another skin under neath. I chose a Halo-type skin. I always liked the design of Master Chief's armor.

The paint peeling effect was done in Photoshop. The Halo-type skin was vectorized in Flash, then composited in Photoshop. I also made up a body kit and gave the car new rims.

Thanks for checking it out!

It's Hammer time!! Some of my friends and I have a movie hang out night and we just finished watching all the Hammer Frankenstein flicks starring Peter Cushing a few weeks ago. So, for a late Halloween picture I used the first film in the series as inspiration: The Curse of Frankenstein starring Peter Cushing as Frankenstein and Christopher Lee as the Monster. I'm mostly pleased with how the likeness of Cushing and Lee turned out, they could be a tad better but oh well...

OK.

I am little slow on the ball, but I just found out about the DA shirt design contest Friday night.

So what did I do?

I taught myself how to vector over the weekend. ^_^

I may not win entering so late, but yeah... I have a new skill!

(Not really versing but eh)

Wewt! 50th Deviation!

This one has definatly been the most on and off project I've ever done.
Seriously it's gone through about 10+ versions, all being made to some sort of quality.
Originally I started this picture about a year ago but dropped it due to my inspiration/motivation for it dying out.

And now it's happened again so I didn't have anything else to add to this, so in my eyes it's done.
Also thanks to :icondinesiac: for giving me some critique on the image; much appreciated!

Terragen 0.9 base render ftw, Photoplop for the rest.
Thanks for viewing :)

Edit: Thank you all for your support and thank you ^nighty for the feature :)!

This took a fraction of the time of my first entry, yet I think in a few ways it turned out better. This is by and far a more illustrative piece anyway.

I thought the idea of Coheed as a monochromatic figure on an atmospheric background sounded like a good idea :E

EDIT: Arg! For whatever reason, DeviantArt darkens the picture when I upload it.

this is my entry for the Sweeney Todd poster contest
original size is 20"x 30" at 300 dpi (6000x 9000 pixels)

i tried to match the color style of the current posters with the bluish gray tone to it
the hardest part was the stupid frame, it would have been a lot quicker and easier to just create the frame in photoshop but i wanted it to look (style-wise) like the rest of the art so i hand drew it (although i cheated and only drew 1/4 of it and duplicated that part)
i wanted Depp's pose to frame the chair and make it as though he's either just had the idea to kill people or he's struggling with the idea of killing people
