"Herzen von Dornen"
Herzen von Dornen is German, for 'Heart Of Thorns', since I am German, I thought this would fit the feeling & emotion of this photo, it sounds better when you say it German, rather then english. Lol.
The idea came to me, out of the blue, and I ran with it. And I thought, I dunno why, but I thought it was going to be so simple & easy to do the vines & thorns on my chest, but, it wasn't. Lol. But I am really happy I did it.
My heart of thorns, Bleeds, breaks & kills. Lust pulls the thorns Closer into me, until Theres no room to move- Until theres no room To Breathe, I die. Heart of thorns, it Has always been this way, I should learn to cut the Vines at the roots, before The thorns make their way into My heart, and kills me, and my love All in one stab. Theres nothing I can do now, but wait, for you To let the thorns stab me.
This time I decided to use another paper, so I took not very difficult portrait. But it didn't justify my hopes, because structure of paper isn't so good as I wanted. Now I'm in search of suitable one. Of course, there are a lot of mistakes again and I have to work harder. Full view is recommended.
I used: - reference picture; - graphite regular and mechanical pencils; - kneadable eraser, pencil-eraser; - q-tips, tissues, blending stick; - Drawing pad professional sketch paper block A4.
Here's Iris, Greek Goddess of the Rainbow, busy at the work she loves.
This is another Art Trade with comethime, the theme being Greek Goddesses. I came up with the theme this time, and asked her to do Athena (which she did a very lovely job with), and then she asked me to do Iris.
I'd never really known much about Iris, or even know she was a goddess, and even as i chose Greek Goddesses, i thought i was digging myself a grave. I put off looking her up on google, afraid i'd get only a bunch of close-up pictures of eyes.
But she'd completed her Athena for me, and i felt like a jerk for not starting yet ... so i looked her up. Turns out she's the Greek Goddess of the Rainbow, and i tried to memorize images associated with her: she tends to have wings, she tends to hold a staff with the double coiling serpants, and i think i read somewhere that she sometimes wore a dress/robe of rainbow colors ...
So, here she is!
Someone also suggested to me that i do a lot of just naked fat women (admittely i do, mostly because i don't know how to draw clothing very well) and suggested i draw a lovely BBW wearing a shear robe or dress or undergarment, which would be just as sexy, if not more. So, i tried to incorporate that into her, too!
CometHime, hope you like! And others, too!
PS - Does Iris have a Roman name, like many (if not all) of the other Greek Gods/Goddesses?
